The mileage tracker then adds to the calorie tracker with the closest approximate speed. It can't add every single speed.

At slower running speeds it thinks you're walking and adds it in as that. Do you see what the mileage tracker added to cardio showing as a "walk"?

Walking doesn't burn as many calories as running.

Thanks for checking! I looked at the details of the entries, and it looks like it is due to the rounding in the tracker and the way the mileage tracker calculates versus the way the cardio tracker does The one entry is listed as "5mph (12 minute miles)" and the other is listed as 8 minutes per kilometer. 8 minutes per kilometer is actually 12.874752 minutes per mile, so the entries aren't exactly equal.

Remember that these listings are estimates and actual calorie burn will vary from individual to individual. For the most accurate estimate of your calorie burn, you may want to invest in a heart rate monitor.

I've set it to kilometers. And if it was set to miles, the calorie burn would be higher because the distance would be further.

When you are entering the 4km distance, is it using the mileage tracker? If so, it could be that the units used there are actually miles and not kilometers.

When I use the mileage tracker I put in a distance of 4km and a time of 30 minutes and gets a calorie burn of 158.

When I use the fitness tracker I put in Running or Jogging at 5mph for 30 minutes and get a calorie burn of 252.

Hi,

Can you tell me what entries you're using and the times?

When I put my jog into the mileage tracker (putting in distance and time) versus the fitness tracker (putting in the running speed and time), I get WAY different calorie burns.

Why are they different? And which should I use?
