You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face.

Mistakes are the portals of discovery.

Don't be afraid to give your best at what seemingly are small jobs. Every time you conquer one it makes you that much stronger. If you do the little jobs well, the big ones will tend to take care of themselves.

It is never too late to be what you might have been.

Did you already get your max points for that task for today? If so, that is likely why you are seeing that now.

I did clear my cache and cookies last night and then restarted my computer, but they all still read "SparkPoints Earned". So,I turned off the computer until this morning and voila I was able to get the first two. Then I checked and all of the previous recycled blogs said I could earn sparkpoints for them - woohoo, but it seems only temporarily.

I have just gone back into The SparkPeople Blog and again they all say "SparkPoints Earned"??? I refreshed the page and they still all say the same.

As I said, I did clear my cache and cookies. Is this something I'm going to have to do each time I want to reread a recycled blog to get points. FYI, I have a new computer with Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 10 on it.

Any help is appreciated!!!

It should've been for all past blogs that are being reposted. You may need to try clearing your cache and cookies if you have that happen again.

Now that's strange. After just checking again, from the ones that were posted today the only one I could get points on was "Great News: The Spark Solution Is Now In Stores", all the others still say "SparkPoints Earned". I did manage to go back to 2008 to find one I hadn't read and thus got points for it. Was the "fix" selective LOL?

So far I've been able to find the blogs to get the full number points, however I'm now back to blogs from 10/1/2012 to get them.

No new blogs again today...oh brothers! emoticon

Got points for a new one today and then went to "Popular Entries" on the side and found one from June 2011 and went back a few until a got one I hadn't read before.

Looks like there's no easy solution to a problem that SP created when they changed up the set-up for the DailySpark blogs or it's just not important enough since it's really only older members that are affected - disappointing!

Today's "Motivated to Move: Exercise to Feel Alive" is a recycled one from 2011 and it shows "Get Your SparkPoints" - woohoo!!!

At the same time, however, another "today" blog, "21 Fast-Paced Workout Songs" a recycled one from 2010 reads "SparkPoints Earned".

I don't have the time to go back and look through all the old blogs to find ones I haven't read.

On one of the "new" blogs posted this morning, I noticed I commented on it when it was posted just about a year ago.

I was able to get points for the one new one today, "3 Easy Exercises for a Fat Tummy and Strong Back" and then under "More Popular Entries" on the side I found one that although I had read it previously, from it was able to go through the "Next Entry" at the bottom of each blog until I found one that I hadn't read (which I bookmarked) - woohoo!

I didn't see any new blogs today, so trekked back again today!

After confronting the fitness tracker today and finding the first two blogs were OK, I just wasn't up to checking the recycled ones. (lol!) I thank you for the heads up. Let's hope there are plans to have more new blogs, and not just relying on so many recycled one. (Okay, okay...don't laugh me! emoticon)

Well it would be nice, but those two articles you mentioned are new ones. Any recycled ones are still showing on mine as SparkPoints Earned although I didn't read them this go-round. I look in the comment section and often you'll see comments from when the blog first appeared showing that indeed it is a recycled one.

This issue is obviously not a priority as SP probably feels that it affects only a few of us older members who have been around for awhile. (The same with the new fitness tracker that has been forced on us which I choose not to use, I now only use the Quick Track on my StartPage.) The standard reply seems to be that SP doesn't have the resources. They might get around to fixing it eventually, but don't be surprised if it takes quite a while.

I had to hunt today as well and I'm getting very close to the date @EDWARDS mentions. I'll see what happens when I reached that date.

As for recycled blog posts, they've done that before in the past without this occurring. I'd say there is a glitch with the other new changes that have taken place is a possibility.

Apparently they are "recycling" blog posts, so even though they look "new" they aren't. That's why you can't get your points. I don't think that it's right. I'm having to search way back through old, old posts to find ones that I haven't read. I think that if they are going to post it as a new blog, we should be able to get points.

Again, hit the same problem.

@GR8, it could be however post separately in the forum to make sure the appropriate attention is given to your question. With all the changes it could simply be a bug, however, bring attention to it.

I just want to add my voice to the others to please make it possible to re-set the dailySpark blogs if they are going to be recycled. I don't mind re-reading an older blog, but I would like to be able to get the points for doing so, especially during times when no new blogs are being written. Thanks!

OK, so two "new" blogs are up - one actually new which I can get points for - and the other a recycled one from 2010 which says "SparkPoint Earned".

So I'm asking since I'm obviously not the only one affected - those of us who have been around for awhile are - that a "Reset SparkPeople Blog" be added to under our "Account Preferences".

I'd like to think that I've become a walking encyclopedia of health and fitness knowledge thanks to SP, but unfortunately I can't remember all that I've read and most of the recycled blogs that are being reposted are like "new". Yes, of course, I can read them again, but SP does have the sparkpoints in place as a nice incentive. I'm not gonna lie, I like my sparkpoints LOL!

Yes, I do click on the "Next Entry", but it just goes back and forth between the two for that date.

I haven't had to go back that far yet. At the bottom of the Sept. 13/12 blog do you get the message "Next Entry"? If so, that should be the previous blog, if not then maybe all the blogs haven't been switched yet. I'll keep my eyes open as I get closer to that date hopefully the issue will be cleared up and the new blogs that we haven't been able to access will be available to earn points.

Yes, those are the ways I access The SparkPeople Blog too, and I did add to My Favourites the last blog I had gone back to which was Sept. 13/12, however, when I try to access anything earlier it just repeatedly shows only the Sept. 13th blogs and nothing prior to that. Very frustrating and tedious. Thanks for trying to help!!!

Val, if I entered the SP blog from an email, I couldn't go back however when I see the "SparkPoints Earned" message from a new blog I've been able to successfully access the entire list of blogs by either going to: 1) the Articles & Videos Tab above and selecting The SparkPeople Blog; or 2) the My Points page and selecting read entries.

Hope one of those work for you as well!

P.S.
Until the issue is resolved, I also mark as 'favorite' the last unread blog page so I don't have to start over with search the next day.

Those blogs are supposed to let you receive points for them again, but there seems to be an issue with that. I will let you know once I have more info on this.

Thanks for your patience!

Still having the same problem.

Is it just happening to us older members? Are you using recycled blogs?? (I notice in the comment section of today's $20 Food Showdown blog that a member states the prices are 3 years old.) If so, why not create a "Reset The SparkPeople Blog" the same as the Reset Quizzes, Reset Articles and Reset Health A-Z under Account Preferences.

Today is the 2nd day with this issue. Thanks @EDWARDS for bring it up, and thanks Coach for taking this topic up the chain for further attention.

I also had the same problem today. Read blog, went to click on points earned only to have "spark points earned" showing.

I have the same problem today. I think it is because articles are being recycled from previous years and if we read them when they were new, they are showing as 'spark points earned'. If you are going to recycle (not a bad idea for good blogs), also do something to clear the points earned, please. Like Edward alluded to - an option to search unread articles would be really nice, but might be a lot more difficult to accomplish, unless you have something available such as in articles with a long listing and an indicator. When it comes to reading, how about allowing 2 articles on the health news? I don't seem to be running out of those!

Sorry you are having trouble with that! I have sent a note to the tech team to check into it. In the meantime though, it looks like you haven't received points for this blog: www.sparkpeople.com/blog/blog.asp?post=7_h

I will also pass along your feedback about the reading more articles link.

I just went to read The SparkPeople Blog and the new articles said "SparkPoints Earned" when I haven't read them yet.

This happened just a little while ago and I thought SP resolved the problem, but it has now reoccurred.

And navigating The SparkPeople Blog is quite tedious when trying to find other articles that have not been read. Is "Read More Articles" that only go back only one "page" the only way to find previous blogs?
