There seems to be some confusion and misunderstanding here, so hopefully I can clarify this for you. When you continually see that box checked, it is because we have sent an email to you that your provider has returned to us as undeliverable. When they do this, SparkPeople automatically turns off all emails going to you (which is why you see that checkmark in the box).
We have to turn off all emails when a provider returns something to us as undeliverable, and this is the reason: Because we send thousands of emails each day, out typical email traffic may appear like spam to some providers-if we continue to send email after they have returned it to us, it looks even more like spam. In addition, some people mark our email as spam rather than unsubscribing, which can also contribute to the appearance of our emails as spam emails, rather than legitimate newsletters and notifications you've subscribed to.
So, if you repeatedly see this box checked without changing preferences yourself, it is because your email provider has returned your emails to us as undeliverable. That is why we suggest that you contact your provider about a block. I hope this helps clear it up.
