Hi Cyndi

Another option would be to set your calories burned goal to zero. Then you'll get a recommended calorie range based on no exercise.

Hope that helps,

Coach Jen

Coach Jen,

I joined Sparkpeople in sept 2007. By 2008 I lost 74 pounds. I kept it off for over a year. I started gaining but managed to hold around 170 for about a year and then gained up to 204. I have been back on Sparkpeople faithfully for a couple of months now and weigh 193.
I have had to slow down my exercise to walking and that even hurts. I cannot do household chores like I use to because of pain, I will be having surgery (total hysterectomy) on March 11th and understand that recovery could be 4-6 weeks.
I feel that I need to lower my daily calorie limit. Thanks for you instructions on changing it.

Hi Cyndi

If you click on Tracker Options at the top of your Nutrition Tracker, then select Change Goals, you can edit your calorie range from there. Note that it won't automatically change your protein, fat and carb ranges (you'll have to manually recalculate those), and anytime you go back in to change something about your goals, the nutrition recommendations will default back to SP's.

How much weight have you lost and over what period of time?

I have a question for you?

Are you still losing weight?

If you are, then why would you want to lose faster? The slower losses are actually the healthier ones - they are far more likely to stay off and also they are a healthier way of doing it.

If you go to your Nutrition Page, just under the date is "Tracker Options" Click on "Change Diet Settings" in the drop-down menu. You can alter the calories there, but remember to click 'save' before you leave.

Where can I go to change the number of calories I get a day? Sparkpeople has me at
1340-1700 daily. I feel that this is too many for me. I am 53 and do not get much exercise right now due to some health issues. I am not loosing at the rate I want to. I want to set my daily limit to 1200-1300 max.
Thanks for the help!
