That's correct, you can't link in a blog. Perhaps when you say "other people's do" you're thinking of the blog itself, or message board comments.

I notice you didn't use the Add a Link button in this message board post. :) That would have made it clickable:

I don't think you can create links in blog comments. If you want to put a link in a post, copy the link, click the "Add a Link" button at the top of the reply box and you can add it from there.

When I post a link to another site or a recipe it never hyperlinks, but other people's do. What am I doing wrong?

I give you this blog as an example:

http://www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_journal_individual.asp?blog_id=5245570

I commented on it but my recipe didn't show up as an active link.
