Thanks for the update! I do know that other members have to manually sync their accounts in order for them to be accurate, but I have not heard anything else yet.

@ANNE_SP--perfect example is yesterday, 11/28/12: I did not manually force the sync of my steps from FB to SP...I just let the websites do their thing yesterday.

SP is reporting my total steps as 11,355 but FB is reporting my total steps as 11,660. It's not a big difference but other days are worse.

So, they are syncing on their own but not timely nor accurately.

No worries, AUD6487!!! I just wanted to let you know so you can get more responses. Not sure how long you've been on SP, but this place has the best support hands down!

:-)

Thanks for the info, it does help. I am sorry I posted on the wrong thread, but I did mention that I was not techy savvy...lol. Good luck in working out your fitbit problems, I didn't even know what it was until I accidently posted.

Yep. My FB unit wireless syncs to the FB website without any issues every 20-30 minutes throughout the day. The breakdown is between the FB website and SP.

Just to clarify, are uploading your steps to your fitbit account from your device?

I have been going to the "my fitness" page on SP and clicking on the "sync FitBit for today" button to get the number to populate in SP. Some days there is a number that is populated in SP but it is not the correct number...much lower number than my current number.

Is there a huge delay in the sync from FB to SP?

Food entered into SP immediately shows up on FB. Seems like the step number in SP, when there is one, is from hours ago and doesn't update correctly by the end of the day unless I manually force it to sync. I sync FB steps every 20-30 minutes all day long.

Hi Chaquita73,

Are the fitbit steps importing from your device to your fitbit account, or are you entering them manually?

Hi AUD6487! You may need to repost your question since this post is titled to reflect FitBit. You'll get more responses if it is titled correctly.

But, what I think you are asking is how to better use the phone app? Food groups is not functional on the phone app. The only thing you could do on the phone app is go to the same group logged on a different day and use the 'copy foods' button to copy it to today. The only drawback on the phone app is when you do this, it will copy all foods for that meal to the same meal on the day you pick (ie-snack will transfer to snack).

I have the droid phone app and seldom use the scanner feature...mainly because I don't eat much food that has bar codes. I have tried it a few times and I think that it does work, but not many bar codes are programmed yet. So, if you use it, it is hit and miss as to which bar codes will be found. But, yes, when the bar code is found, the nutritional data is made available for you to log. When the bar code is not found, it will ask you if you want to manually search for the food or add the nutritional data for that bar code (which makes it available to you and other SP users for future use).

Hope that helps!

I am not sure about FB (I am techy challenged) however, I do have an android and have the SparkPeople app (that I downloaded free a few months ago). However, I still have not been able to figure out how to bring up my "food groupings" to track it on my phone. I would also like to use the bar code scanning feature, if it auto downlouds nutritional info, but when I searched the suggested download for this feature the reviews say they are having difficulties with it. Does anyone know an app. that works, and does it download nutritional info directly?

When the sync with FB went live, my FB steps automatically came to SP and my SP food automatically went to FB. But I just noticed in the last few days that my FB steps are not making it to SP unless I manually click on the sync button. Food is pushing to FB correctly.

I reviewed my link settings and they seem to be correct. Am I missing something?
