Day 107:

Today I woke up and did homework first because once again, I just didn't feel like exercising right away. I ate breakfast and read my English chapter before I got ready to go. Then I walked four miles in 80 minutes. I originally was going to go around 3-3.8 but then realized that since I couldn't go for a two or more mile walk this evening because I was supposed to babysit the boys. It was 60 or less degrees and windy and misty, but it was a good walk overall except for my shoe poking the edges of my toes :(

I came back and printed the instructions for a draft in the English class and ate "lunch." Then I got on SP because I didn't feel like doing anything else. I felt like I just needed to chill. But then my ribs started hurting and my back hurt even more... and then my head started hurting because my neck was hurting from doing homework. It was a bad chain reaction of everything. I had to sit in my mom's chair to give my back and ribs some support, and it did help ease some of the pain. My ribs still hurt but they feel better. However, then I noticed the headache so I had to take strong pain meds before I remembered we now had Excedrin. So I took one at first and then one a few hours later and now my headache's pretty much gone.

I made scrambled eggs for the boys with toast, apples, and some grapes. They played and watched some train show afterwards. Then it was time to get ready for bed. Thankfully it only took half an hour to get the baby to sleep tonight because last night he took at least an hour maybe longer. He was really fighting it and even a little tonight, but not too bad. Then it took a while for his brother to fall asleep. I did get a one mile walking video in after getting the baby asleep and in the room since I didn't get any more exercise or walking in after this morning's walk.

The baby stirred when I opened the door to get their DVD on again for background noise since the cable isn't working in their room right now. I got him calmed and got the DVD playing. A little while later his brother woke up and took a while to get calmed down again and back in bed. Then the baby stirred a little while after that when the DVD ended and turned off. I had to shush him back to sleep and get the movie playing again. It's like an endless thing but thankfully not as bad as last night, I just hope it continues to be okay after my brother gets home. This is the life when they're sick since they wake up more.

Day 105:

On Tuesday, I got up at four thirty. I didn't want to exercise like usual when first waking up, but the news was on and they were talking about the rain in the morning and evening and that was just the push I needed to get a good workout inside. I started with a 3 mile WATP video and then still felt good and motivated so I did 2 more miles for a total of five.

I finished reading the second half of this week's history chapter, took the chapter quiz, and did the discussion board assignment so now I'm done with history. I also got the initial post for Sociology done.

That evening I took a 1.2 mile walk outside and while I was out, I thought about how good it is to start and end my day with exercise since it helps ease whatever stress I feel. Starting makes the beginning of the day a little less stressful because I can work out some of my anxiety, stress, etc. in anticipation for the day. Evening exercise and especially a walk outside is a great way to de-stress after a day full of issues.
___________
Day 106:

Wednesday was weigh-in and rest day. The weigh in went well, I dropped another 2.8 pounds. It was a little less than I expected after a week of staying the same, but I'm extremely happy for a nearly three pound loss... PLUS I am now less than three and a half pounds away from hitting my second mini goal! Woohoo!

I managed to get nearly all of my psychology homework done yesterday: I read the chapter, did the chapter test (and got 100% on it yay), and did the initial discussion board post and one of the two replies. I would have finished but was tired and burnt out by the time I could return to homework.

Almost as soon as my brother left for work, I started experiencing stomach ulcer pain. I took two Zantacs plus some Pepto-Bismal but nothing was helping, even after eating dinner. I ate a candy bar before I planned on eating it and then wanted more more more to continue easing my stomach pain. My mentality when having an ulcer flare up is to eat as much as I can to ease the pain. It does help if I catch it soon enough, but it's not a long-term solution and isn't going to serve me in losing weight or later maintaining, so this is something I need to figure out sometime in the near future.

This was my first real binging experience since starting to lose weight. I didn't think I had a binging problem and still don't because this came after three and a half months without one, but I do know that the ulcer pain spurs me to binge to ease the pain. It's like a frantic, panicky feeling. I need to develop a plan to deal with it when it comes.

Day 104:

Yesterday my plan was to walk outside only since I'd been doing videos nearly every exercise day for a week or more. My goal was to walk at least five and a half miles and I did succeed. That morning I walked 4 miles in 79 minutes. I had a good walk and saw a lot of insects, including two fuzzy caterpillars that I don't normally see.

I came back, ate lunch, and spent some time online before starting to read my history book. I read about half but had to go sit in my parents' room because the boys were being too noisy for me to focus. I ended up reading out loud, which helped me get through the pages faster. I read half of the chapter total.

Then it was time to cook dinner. I made hamburger helper for my stepdad and brother, and macaroni and cheese for me and the boys. I don't know what my mom ended up eating. I had half a cup of macaroni, half a serving of hamburger, and a whole serving of corn mixed together. It didn't taste as good as I thought it would because the macaroni was the cheap stuff but it was okay.

I left with my parents a little after five and they dropped me off at the local walking park. I walked two times around and then stopped and tried reading more of the history chapter. It was fine for a while but then the mosquitoes started flying around and landing on me. They followed me when I moved so I decided to walk one more time around. My joints were already hurting and the muscle at the very top of my calf was aching, but I figured I'd rather be in pain and be a moving target than be bit a million times sitting in one place. By the time I finished the third time around, that muscle was hurting pretty bad and my joints were hurting more too. I had to stand around and wait for my parents still so I tried to pace around slowly and then I stood in an area with wood chips in hopes of distancing myself from the bugs, but it didn't do much good.

Finally my parents showed up and I hurried into the car. We stopped at a home depot/garden type store to see if they had any bug spray but they didn't. The stop wasn't a total waste though because walking around the store slowly helped ease the muscle pain.

We came home and I tried to relax but was starting to get a sinus headache, probably from spending so much time outside and walking around. These darn allergies get bad in spring in fall, but are pretty bad in between too just get worse during those seasons.

Day 103:

Sunday was good. I got interrupted sleep for almost four hours the night before since the boys were gone. I slept in and when I woke up, I couldn't quite bring myself to workout yet so I watched a movie on Lifetime, played some games on my iPod, and ate breakfast. My mom called and said they were running errands and would be a while longer so I started working out at noon. I did Biggest Loser Cardio Max levels one and three again.

My parents came home right after I finished, when I was getting more water. I ate the bean burrito that my mom brought me and was really hungry that point. Then I watched the movie that was on Lifetime after the earlier one: Flightplan. When that was over, I laid down and took an hour and a half nap. My muscles really appreciated the rest after the hard workout. My mom woke me up a little after four and said it was time to go to the store.

We ran around from Walmart to Walgreens to CVS looking for some bug spray but everyone was wiped out. We also stopped at Aldis so we could get two packages of water and some bread. Then we picked my brother up from work and headed home. He left to pick the boys up from the babysitter.

Almost as soon as we came home, I left for a walk. I ended up calling my sister right away when I realized I'd missed her call earlier and we talked for a mile and a half of my two mile walk. I still kept a satisfactory walking speed of 21.5-22 minutes per mile and got to express myself to her a bit and hopefully helped her get her homework done.

Day 102:

Saturday morning my brother took the boys to a parade with a couple friends. I slept in and then worked out in his room. I wanted to do Biggest Loser Cardio Max but my thigh muscles were too sore from starting level three the day before, so I searched through YouTube since I can't find the DVD remote in his room, and I found a Leslie Sansone 3 "weight loss" miles video on there. It actually turned out to be a good thing because it showed one person on there lost 70 pounds and two women lost 100 pounds each from walking it off. That was inspirational and motivational while doing the workout and helped push me through it even though my legs were sore and tired.

The boys came home just as I was finishing my lunch. The baby was asleep but the oldest was awake and noisy. Soon his brother woke up too. During the two hours they were home I typed up and turned in a journal assignment that I had written out that morning, did the dishes, did some laundry, etc. Then around two thirty, my brother left to take the boys to an old co-worker/babysitter who had agreed to watch them over night and the next day while he worked.

He brought home pizza around four or a little after. I ate three slices and a breadstick, which was more than I should have but overall I was in my range or nearly in my range so I don't regret it. It was so good and I was ravenous by the time he came back with it, despite eating a banana an hour earlier. Then I left for a walk a little after six and enjoyed the good weather of the day. I walked 2.6 miles.

Saturday I reached my 400 miles in 2014 goal with 402.5 miles! emoticon emoticon I am officially changing the goal to 700 miles.

Day 101:

The day started with clear skies and a great 2.8 mile walk outside. It was pretty hot already at eight o'clock but I didn't get bit by mosquitoes and was able to walk the whole way without hearing thunder or being rained on.

As soon as I got back it was time to get ready. My brother and I took the boys to his co-worker's house so she could babysit them and then we headed to the YMCA for our scholarship appointments. We both got great news while there, we were both accepted. I only have to pay $46.20 for three months. He still needs to bring in income proof but once he does, we can find out how much he has to pay and how we're going to pay for it. If it's reasonable, I told him I would pay half since I'm the reason he looked into this in the first place.

When I came home, I got the pleasant surprise of having the house to myself because my brother went to the co-worker's house and my parents were going out. I did Cardio Max levels one and three (for the first time again), got a good size test done for one of my classes, and got 2 miles WATP in before my parents came home. They were home for a couple hours and I ate lunch and got on here. Then they left to go see a movie. I finished reading my English chapter and got the rest of my DB replies done. Now all I have left is a journal assignment which I will do tomorrow.

The day was nice having the house to myself quite a bit, getting the YMCA scholarship and at a reasonable fee for me, and doing a lot of great exercise.

Day 100:

Yesterday I got up and tried to get a walk outside, but after the first half (1.2 miles) and hearing thunder at least three times, I had to come home. I got on Spark People for a little while, got a shower, made a vain attempt to get out for another walk, and then got ready to go to the daycare tour.

The tour was great. The daycare has two outside play areas, a fenced in field, and an indoor gymnasium. The last is a great thing in a climate like ours since it snows in the winter and we are full of thunderstorms in the spring and summer. They also had at least two or three classrooms for each age group, which is pretty good.

We came home and I tried to read my English book, but my shoulder and neck muscles were really sore and it was just not happening. My parents left to run errands so I decided to use the family computer to do a Leslie Sansone video from Youtube. The area is very limited around the desk and the floor is linoleum so it wasn't very comfortable, but I managed to do the whole two mile video and that is a triumph.

Then I did dishes and before long it was time for my brother to leave for work. As soon as he did, the boys and I headed out for a one mile walk. Since the mosquitoes have been ridiculously bad in the past week, I thought the earlier the better. I walked a 21 minute mile while pushing them for the second time this week, which is huge since I only ever hit this speed twice before while walking them and never in the same week!

We got home and I fed them dinner and they played for a while. It was pretty uneventful except for their craziness and not listening but that's the norm for them.

Day 99:

Wednesday started off with a "bad" weigh-in. While I didn't gain, I didn't lose either. I stayed the same. I felt defeated because I thought for sure I'd have a good three pound loss because I'd been so good as far as calories in and calories out went. However, as the day went on it became easier to accept. Still hard to deal with but acceptable because I really think it was water weight.

The day was really productive because I called the YMCA and made scholarship appointments for myself and my brother for Friday and also called a daycare to set up a tour on Thursday. I also got all of my history homework done, and managed to download the history book to my Kindle so it will be easier to read from now on which takes a load off my shoulders.

I had the boys from four thirty to eleven thirty that day. We took my brother to work and then we went to Target. We walked around a bit and they were able to share one of those carts that has two seats in addition to the baby seat in the cart. They loved it at first and were loving and cuddling with each other, but it didn't last long and they started fighting so the oldest got moved to the baby seat. We looked at toys for a while, then checked out with some capris for me and my mom and a potty seat for the boys. Then it was time for "dinner" in the cafe. The boys shared an individual cheese pizza and my mom and I shared chicken tenders, and we all had water to drink. I had two chicken tenders plus an eighth of the pizza which came to 185 calories. Not bad for dinner.

Day 98:

Today was another whirlwind day. I got up with plans to go for a walk right away but it was raining, so I waited and started reading my sociology book. Once the rain let up I headed out. I ended up walking 3.2 miles in 62 minutes= 19.37 minutes per mile.

I came back and my mom and I went to the food pantry and the dry pantry. I was so tired I dozed off and on all the way home. I put away the cold foods and then passed out on my bed for three hours. I only wanted to sleep two but turned my alarm off and kept sleeping, which is what I do much of the time if I don't HAVE to be up.

Then I ate dinner and headed out for a walk. I ended up walking 2.9 miles in 56 minutes for this walk= 19.31 minutes per mile. Overall good speeds for the day. Then it was time to get a shower and do homework. I decided not to try reading the sociology book again and just did the initial communications assignment that's due tomorrow night. Then I called it a night for that.

Tomorrow I need to work on my history homework since I have a communications assignment due for it tomorrow night too. I don't know how far I'll get, but I need to try to access the book on my kindle so it will be easier to read. I also have the boys from four thirty to eleven thirty (or so), so that might stand in the way of being super productive but I'll definitely give it all my effort to get as much as I can done.

Day 97:

Yesterday my brother took the boys for a playdate at a co-worker's house. I thought he'd only be gone a couple hours so I only did three miles WATP in his room, even though I wanted to do four. However, he ended up being gone all day until about forty-five minutes before he had to leave for work.

Without the boys at home, I got a lot done. I read my whole psychology chapter, took the chapter quiz, and did the original communications post. Then after they went to bed, I responded to two students for the communications assignment. I finished all of this week's homework in that class in the matter of a few hours. It felt really good.

The kids had no naps at all that day, and I braced myself for the evening. I fed the boys dinner and shortly afterwards, we left for a one mile walk. The mosquitoes were awful. I already had like six or more bites by then and got bit once more. When we came back, I discovered the baby had a ton on him but probably not all from just the walk. I put hydrocortisone cream on his bites and my mom helped me make sure I didn't miss any.

Both boys fell asleep right away, but Aiden woke up twice in a few hours' time and then he woke up right after his dad got home. I don't know if he woke up any more after that but since he was overtired from no nap, I would assume he woke up at least once more after his dad came home.

Day 96:

Sunday I woke up at four forty-five and did my workout: 2 miles WATP and Cardio Max again. I wanted to add level three of CM to level one, but I was so sore over the weekend from something else, that I couldn't bear doing it. I went back to bed for a couple hours and then woke up for the day.

I had the boys from nine thirty to five thirty (or so). The boys and I stayed in the house and I did laundry, and they took a nap. The day was okay for the most part. I ended up watching some of a 19 Kids and Counting marathon on TLC. It's kind of cute to watch even though sometimes I'm like "what?" I like how they are real and close as a family.

I ended up getting a headache starting at the back and base of my skull, which spread to the front of my head all the way to my forehead. I took strong pain medicine and tried to keep the lights off in the living room. Thankfully my mom was obliging and soon the headache eased to a minute amount and was gone by the next morning.

That evening I took a 2.4 mile walk in attempt to get the headache to ease up. I ended up getting honked at twice by the same person, once going one way and once going the other way. Even though it's a little flattering, it's also unnerving and annoying because the honking made me jump both times. I don't even know who the person was, just that he must live in my community because he turned into the community on the way back. This loud noise and rise in my heart rate didn't make my headache feel any better.

Day 95:

Last Saturday I had the boys from eleven thirty to six thirty (or so). I got a pre-dawn workout of two miles WATP and Cardio Max. Then I went to bed for a few hours before getting up for the day.

The boys were crazy and cranky. They had lunch and then it was time for naps. The baby woke up about halfway through his nap and woke his brother too. My mom rocked him back to sleep and I managed to shh his brother back to sleep. Once the baby was back asleep, I carried him back to the bedroom and his brother woke up to the sound of the door scraping open. So again I had to shh him back to sleep.

Since I was tired, and had these interruptions, doing homework while they napped didn't go well. The rest of the day was spent on my feet for most of it. I did the dishes, let the boys play with their magnet letters while standing in the kitchen, took them for a one mile walk, and then started cooking dinner as soon as I got back.

Once my brother got back, I pretty much headed right out to take a 1.2 mile walk. There was thunder the whole way and as soon as I turned around to start walking back home, I started to see lightning. The whole walk was overshadowed by the question, what if I get hit by lightning? It was a bit scary but the baby was fussing and I needed to get out of the house. I didn't realize there was thunder before I left though.

Wednesday started with weigh-in, and a 2.6 pound loss emoticon making my total loss 34.2 pounds for thirteen weeks (or three months)! It was better than the last two weigh-ins and I'm so happy for that.

I had the boys for an hour while my brother went to his lawyer appointment. I thought it would take longer but thankful it didn't because it meant I had more time in between that and his leaving for work, which also meant I was able to get quite a bit of homework done.

Then I had the boys from three thirty to midnight. I also thought he'd be gone an hour longer for that too but surprised me by coming home earlier than expected. I definitely needed extra sleep and his coming home then gave me the opportunity to truly go to bed.
~~~~~~~~
Day 93:
Yesterday I had the boys from eight thirty to five thirty or so. I meant to get up before dawn and do workout DVDs, but reset my alarm while I was half asleep. I got up at seven instead and didn't have time to go for a walk. I got my shower and ate breakfast.
I managed to get 3 miles WATP in the morning and 2 miles WATP plus a fifteen minute walking and strength training video in in the afternoon while watching them. However, they act up so much that it's not worth it unless I absolutely have to so I need to work on getting up early to workout instead of trying to do it while watching them. Either they drive me nuts or I waste their naptime doing exercise instead of resting or doing homework, which I desperately need by that point.
~~~~~~~~
Day 94:

Today I got up at eight to take a walk. I walked 2.4 miles and was planning to walk further but decided to stop and come home to get ready to go. While we were out my brother and I looked at one daycare, stopped at the Y to ask about a membership as well as daycare, and then I returned a book for a canceled class.

When we got home, I took a nap because I only got four hours of sleep last night. I ended up sleeping longer than I planned because the first hour to hour and a half was interrupted a lot for bathroom trips due to drinking too much water beforehand.

Later I did a few small homework assignments, talked to my sister on the phone, went for a 1.7 mile walk with my brother, took a shower, ate dinner, and did some more homework. I managed to finish my psychology chapter and do the quiz. I took two of the three attempts and managed to get 14/15. Yay.

This evening I learned my mom needs surgery on her back again. I feel bad for her having to have another surgery, but am so thankful that it's scheduled at the beginning of my fall break which will allow me to take care of her and everything else without worrying about homework... at least for a few days.

Day 91:

I don't feel like going through the whirlwind of stress and emotions that today was again (personal note: in my blog). Short story is one of my classes got dropped and dealing with that plus a raging thunderstorm preventing me from getting outside to exercise led to a very bad day but I survived and did what I could to minimize damage.

I managed to get Biggest Loser Cardio Max in while my parents were gone, boys were napping, and my brother was on the computer. Then this evening I took a 1.7 mile walk and my brother joined me and treated me to a drink from the gas station.

Day 90:

Yesterday morning after sleeping a few hours, I woke up and felt better so I stayed awake and edited my blog and watched some TV. My headache was still there but not raging anymore. Then I checked the weather and discovered that it was going to be a bad air quality day, so I did three miles WATP before going to bed since I wouldn't be able to get outside to exercise.

I went to bed for a few more hours and then after eating breakfast, I went into my brother's room and did two miles WATP because he had gone somewhere with the boys. My muscles didn't want to cooperate with me that soon after the first workout but I got through it.

Then I did my first day of school, reading syllabuses and calendars and doing some assignments. One of my classes didn't have an instructor or any content so it was only three classes and I got them all done pretty fast.

I had the boys from three thirty to ten thirty. My parents went to the library and I did a one mile video before making dinner for me and the boys. We had breakfast foods of scrambled eggs with some cheese, toast (them not me), and yogurt. It was good and it was easy. The boys acted up a lot and it was a challenge to get through the night.

After they went to bed I had to put Frontline on my cat and did some discussion board assignments while keeping an eye on her for the first hour after putting it on. It was not easy sitting in that position and now in hindsight see that could have added even more neck pain.

Day 88:

Saturday morning I took a five mile walk outside and successfully reached my five mile goal, two months early. I walked it in 1 hour and 41 minutes, which was an average of 20.2 minutes per mile. That's great. I wasn't expecting that good of an average when I first started working towards this goal. My joints were hurting a little but not enough for me to stop or to really interfere with me walking. However my muscles were protesting after the day before's different terrain workout. I had to stop and stretch once after a few miles and it helped short-term. I rested the rest of the day, even though I wanted to take the boys for a walk. I just didn't feel like taking them while they were cranky.
____
Day 89:

Sunday I decided to sleep in and try to do my workout while the boys were awake. After being with their dad for two days straight, they were super cranky and acting up a lot. So it was a bit of a disaster but I got my workout in with one mile WATP, Cardio Max, and then one more mile WATP.

I managed to make dinner for everyone once my brother got home, but then the headache I got that morning turned into a full blown migraine. I went for a walk, took meds, tried my Zycam gel, took a shower, etc. but nothing was getting rid of it. I decided to post my "How I Spent My Summer" themed blog anyway because I had been looking forward to it for over a week and wanted to get it posted that evening. Of course being on the computer for that amount of time made my migraine even worse. I finally got it under control enough to go to bed.

Day 87:

Late last night, early morning around four thirty I was still up and not tired enough to go to bed. I also got a spark of motivation to try one of the Biggest Loser DVDs my mom picked up for me from the library. Normally it intimidates me to try a new workout video so I decided to run with the motivation and did the workout to exhaust my body. It was okay, too many strength moves and not very fast paced like I thought it would be but it's a good workout and I was sore from doing it later today so it must be pretty challenging to my body. I'm going to hold of on deciding whether or not to buy it until I try levels two and three. Afterwards I read from a new book I started a few days ago until I felt sleepy enough to pass out. It sure did the trick to exhaust my body and mind in that order because falling asleep was pretty easy after that.

This morning my mom drove me to the local walking park, but the reservoir in the center was flooded and the gates were all locked. I got discouraged and frantically tried to figure out what I would do. I ended up having my mom drop me off across the street and headed in the direction of the library. What should have been a 0.7 mile walk turned into a 1.2 mile walk because I got a little lost and didn't go far enough before turning down one of the streets. I tracked all my turns in a note on my iPod so I could track it later. Once I got to the library, I used the restroom and then headed back out to walk some more around the area. I decided to have some more fun turning a lot and typing my turns into the note. I ended up walking an additional two miles. Later when I logged it in map your route in my fitness tracker, I discovered the distances and that I averaged a 21.5 minute mile for BOTH walks! Woohoo! That's great for in town, making lots of turns, walking up and down steep inclines, etc. It was such fun to not have to walk in a straight line just to track distance or keep safe, and all this despite high humidity and overcast skies.

After a trip to the store to grab some groceries, I came home and logged on to track the walks. Then I took a long nap because I only got four hours of sleep last night and was utterly exhausted. I had to literally drag myself out of bed after two and a half hours of sleeping, I felt like I could sleep all evening and into tomorrow morning but had to make dinner. I was planning to make tacos but didn't feel like messing around with that so I made grilled cheese sandwiches for the guys. By the time I did that, I didn't feel like having a grilled cheese sandwich so I took the trash out, cleaned the cat box, and took the dog out before warming up some rice and gravy leftovers from the other night.

That's pretty much the day. Tomorrow I want to walk five miles in the morning if it's dry enough, but the forecast says it's supposed to rain all day. It said that for today too but nothing came of it so I'm hoping I can get a nice two hour block in the morning to take my walk. I will be bringing my backpack I used today and two bottles of water but don't want to make my bladder burst either. If it's raining in the morning and I don't get a chance tomorrow, I might wake up super early on Sunday and take the five mile walk before I babysit the boys all day but I really hope that doesn't happen. I want to get this in before school starts and add it to my summer accomplishments.

Day 86:

This morning I slept in because my nephews had appointments in the early afternoon. I got up and ate breakfast and then worked on a goal chart for the fall semester to hang on the wall beside my bed so I can keep my eyes on my goals while doing homework.

After they left, I went into the room and did one mile with Leslie Sansone via YouTube, Biggest Loser Cardio Max level one, and one more mile with Leslie. It was a great workout. I got a shower and ate lunch and then had a short period of time to rest.

My parents and brother left around four thirty. I got on the home computer to print up a bunch of calendars to incorporate one of my SP friend's calendar ideas. I will put my own spin on it, but think this will be a great way to stay on track throughout the semester and winter months. I plan to track exercise minutes, calories in, and cups of water. The last is something I added because I will need more motivation and incentive to drink the water I need to when my schedule is even busier and when it's cold in the winter.

Then I did two miles with Leslie on my laptop while the boys watched a few short child yoga videos. A thunderstorm came through while we were doing this and we lost power for a second, but thankfully it didn't interrupt our videos. Once we were done, I washed the kids' cups and made oatmeal for all three of us. I really needed to eat by the point mine was done because I was right around the four hour mark.

It was time to wind down before bedtime and then finally the kids went to bed. Due to not having a nap, the oldest fell asleep pretty quickly compared to usual.

Day 85:

Yesterday was weigh in and rest day. My weigh-in put me at 2.2 pounds less than last week and pushed me over thirty pounds lost with 31.6 pounds total in twelve weeks! Woohoo!

I rested most of the morning and early afternoon. I even started preparing my back to school themed blog I want to post on Sunday night which gave me motivation.

Then I did the dishes. After I did the dishes, I decided I couldn't stand seeing all the papers and trash strewn about in the living room so I went around picking up the floor. Once I could see the floor, I decided to vacuum it because it had been a while and it's a pain in the butt to do my exercise videos in the living room when I'm stepping on crumbs and stuff.

After I finished vacuuming, the boys and I went outside with a bunch of water bottles to splash each other and everything out on the porch. We spent a good twenty or more minutes out there having fun. I brought them in and got them dried off and fresh diapers on and then it was time to cook dinner. I really enjoyed eating the rarity of rice and country gravy, mmm.

After dinner the kids played for a while and then it was bedtime. I recuperated and rested for a while before I swept the kitchen floor. Whenever I vacuum, I need to do this at the same time or in the same day otherwise crumbs and debris get tracked from the kitchen to the living room especially. It is a domino effect to do any cleaning, but I'm glad I did it because the house looks somewhat clean as opposed to a pigsty right now.

Day 84:

Tuesday I slept in until seven because my brother had expressed plans to go out in the morning. I used his room to do Biggest Loser Cardio Max level one like I've been doing, and used weights. Then I did a twenty-four minute walking and toning video with weights. In hindsight, I probably shouldn't have done so much with the weights so close together, but it is what it is. After that I did a one mile walking video to finish.

Sometimes when the kids are gone for a while, I get this spark of inspiration to clean the house. I took a letter to the mailbox, came back, cleaned the shower which really needed it, and got a shower. Then I ate lunch and took a nap because I was tired. Five hours of sleep is not enough, even with the sleeping in. When I woke up I had a minor sinus headache from the cleaner I used, as well as pressure on the top of my head from bending over to scrub the shower. It could have been a whole lot worse so I'm thankful it was pretty minor and stayed minor.

The forecast had said it would rain all day but it didn't, so I was able to take an evening walk of 2.4 miles in 46 minutes, which came to 19.37 min/mile... NOT BAD for an evening walk! It was an extremely relaxing walk too. At the "T" in the road I turn around at, I could smell the livestock smell and turned my head to discover ten to twenty or more cows in the pasture. They hadn't ever been there before this summer so the animal lover in me was happy.

Day 83:

Monday morning I took a 2.9 mile walk in 58 minutes. While I was walking, I discovered I have greatly improved balance. A truck was coming towards me and I stepped into one of the super steep driveways at the very edge of it and lost my balance as I did so. For a split second I could see myself plummeting down on the asphalt and injuring myself, but before I even leaned to far into the fall, I caught myself and straightened up. I doubt the drivers going by in either direction really noticed. When I turned to look beside me, I discovered it would have been the grass I fell onto but still could have injured an arm or leg falling down a steep incline like that.

Later after my parents and brother left, I did a one mile walking video from on demand while watching the boys. It seemed even longer than the one I did before somehow, even though it was ten minutes shorter. Since there was no sequence like the longer one and because my nephews were a little rowdier, I guess that's why.

Then in the evening, after having oatmeal and fruit for dinner, my nephews and I took a one mile walk in the stroller. It was a good walk except for the high humidity that had hung around all day and the bugs!

Day 82:

Today I slept in until eight forty-five since my parents would be gone most of the day and decided I would do Cardio Max while the boys were napping. After the other adults had finally left, I did a 25 minute walking video. I picked that one as opposed to a shorter one because it has a sequence and would be easy to follow while talking to the boys and taking care of them. It worked out because I was able to entertain them with the video and it was hilarious to see them try the moves. I managed to do my arm strength training afterwards. Then it was time to feed the boys lunch and get them down for their naps.

Since the older one fell asleep right away, I was able to get started on Cardio Max right away. Just as I was finishing the cardio workout section of the video, someone knocked on the door and I had to answer. The only bright side was I only had about thirty seconds left of the workout before the cool down so it didn't interrupt my workout too much but the lady is a friend of my moms and wanted to talk for a while. I felt bad for kind of rushing her but nap time is precious time.

I finished my workout, got a drink and used the restroom, and made my lunch: zucchini, carrots, chicken, and noodles plus a yogurt. Just as I finished the bowl of noodles, chicken and veggies the dog started acting like she needed to go out again. So I took her out and as we approached the door, I could see my youngest nephew approaching it. Goodbye time to relax.

Between not having a real break and being incredibly sleepy, barely able to keep my eyes open, I was irritable for the last four hours of my babysitting shift. The kids about drove me nuts. I managed to get a load of clothes done and some dishes done. The latter I did to somewhat stay awake.

My brother took the boys out after he got off work and I left to take a 2 mile walk outside. When I got back I ate a small dinner, folded and put away my clothes, and then laid down for a while. I'm feeling nauseous again this evening and I'm starting to tie it to that time of the month.

Day 81:

Saturday since my brother was gone I slept in until ten and then used my brother's bedroom to workout. I did a one mile walking video, Biggest Loser Cardio Max level one, another one mile walking video and other shorter video.

The rest of the morning and early afternoon was peaceful without the boys home and making noise. I read some of the book I've been working on all summer. I'm getting close to the end since my kindle says I'm eighty something percent through it.

When my brother returned, my mom and I went to the store to go shopping. We got a lot of junk for the family, which is bad. But I made a point to grab cottage cheese, yogurt, string cheese, and granola bars. I grabbed the bars for when school starts so they can help me avoid breaching the four hour eating rule. I can keep them beside my bed and grab them as I need them while I'm doing homework or whatever. Later I made a list of quick and easy snacks.

Everyone was tired and my parents went to rest in the room, so the pork chops I'd set out got pushed back again. Instead I made a lasagna for me, my stepdad, and my brother. I made mac and cheese, hotdogs, and carrots for the boys. Before the lasagna was totally gone I made a small salad with lettuce, cucumber, and tomato and put a serving of carrots on the plate too to eat first and then had a serving of lasagna afterwards.

About half an hour after I finished dinner, I left for a walk. I wanted to walk nearly three miles but only walked 1.6 miles because I really had to go to the bathroom and the bugs were biting and bugging me even though I had bug spray on. The rest of the evening was okay but I was really tired and didn't get to stay up as late as I wanted.

Day 80:

Friday was really busy. I slept in and got up around ten to take my 4.5 mile walk. After eight days from the last time, I thought it would be pretty difficult but it was okay. I made it in 86 minutes, which is my best time for this distance and I was happy with that considering I had slower speeds the day before.

When I got back there wasn't a lot of time between my walk and leaving for the park for my youngest nephew's birthday party. So I did dishes, took care of some other housework, packed water bottles for everyone, and made myself a sandwich in hopes of curbing hunger and avoiding the cake like I did a couple weeks ago.

I kept busy chasing kids at the park. After cake, my brother left to get pizzas. I was hungry after all the physical energy I used in the early part of the day as well as the energy I was expending at the park so I had a piece of pizza. Just as I was about to finish the slice, I realized I forgot to take my zantac that morning and the acid was eating away at my stomach. So I walked to the other playground and back (I'm guessing around a quarter of a mile round trip) to hopefully speed up digestion and get the acid out of my stomach faster.

By the time we got back, my brother had made plans for him and the boys to spend the night at my sister's house. I was so tired and drained from all the time I spent in the sun and outside. I sat down and rested for a while but I still felt tired so I laid down and took a nap. When I woke up I was still overheated and was starting to feel nauseous. I thought it was just because I needed to eat so I had a bowl of cereal for dinner. I felt better for a while so I left to take a walk. I walked 1.5 miles because I didn't have a lot of daylight.

After my walk I felt nauseous again. I got a shower, took Tylenol and more Zantac and then sat in front of my fan on the highest setting. Finally I started to feel better and was a bit relieved. I think it was an accumulation of factors as well as mild heat exhaustion.

Day 79:

Today I got up at seven fifteen and I wanted to go back to sleep so bad. But I also didn't want to waste the good weather. So I ate breakfast and messed around on my iPod. Then I realized that I would get to listen to Jesse McCartney's new album again on my walk and that gave me the rest of the push I needed to get out the door. I ended up walking 2.8 miles in 59 minutes, which was a 21 minute mile speed. I guess after a week without walking much, or more than a mile and a half at a time, I lost some of my walking speed, but that's okay.

Then I had a doctor's appointment for assessment. The nurse was nice but the doctor was impatient and trying to speed me through there really fast. I didn't like him at all. But at least it's over with now. The thing was their scale showed me around three pounds lighter than my home scale. My home scale always weighs me a bit higher than doctor scales, I suppose since they're kept calibrated.

Afterwards my mom wanted to go to TGI Fridays for appetizers. This is where disaster struck. I had three naked wings, two pot stickers, and a pretzel stick. I drank my whole glass of water while we were there, at least 16-20 ounces. But when I got home I couldn't find out the exact amount of calories I'd eaten. All I know is it's somewhere between 900-1220. I'm assuming the highest amount though.

I took a two hour nap which didn't seem like long enough and then my parents informed me they were going to the church that serves a free dinner on Thursday nights. I asked if my mom could drop me off at the local walking park and she said yes. So I went and walked 3 miles there. It took me 65 minutes, which averages to 21.66 minutes per mile. That was a bit disappointing to me but it is what it is. Then we went to the store and filled the last four wic vouchers. I got fourteen dollars worth of fruits and veggies, which makes me feel good.

When we got home, I put it all away and got a shower. Then it was time to relax for the night. I have been trying to eat small amounts since I found out how many calories I consumed at "lunch" but pretty soon I need to eat something more substantial.

Day 78:

Yesterday I weighed and saw 280.0 staring back at me from the scale, which was only a 0.8 loss. I was expecting at least three or four times as much, especially with all the non-scale victories I was noticing in the few days before I weighed. My theory is that I gained muscle from doing the more intense workout of Cardio Max four times in the past week and might also be carrying around extra water weight due to impending TOM as I've started noticing other signs as well, and might have noticed a little bloating.

The rest of the day was pretty slow. I managed to get the Jesse McCartney album I picked up from the library on Monday into iTunes and on my iPod. It was fun listening to it since I've essentially waited three and a half years for him to actually release a new album.

My brother left for work a little after four and I only had the baby since his brother was spending the night with my sister. After a little while I took him out in the sling so we could see if we could find any airplanes but there weren't any. So I took him to the park and he played for about twenty minutes. We came home and it was time to feed him and eat dinner myself, let him play a bit, and get him into bed. It was peaceful after that as he stayed asleep, thankfully!

Day 77:

Today I was going to get up at four thirty to exercise because it was supposed to be raining most of the day, again. But I was so tired so I went back to sleep. Then I woke up at eight thirty and after my brother left to take his oldest to my sister's and pick up his youngest, I was able to do Biggest Loser Cardio Max and a one mile walking video in his room.

I made a phone call to try to get some paperwork I need for assistance and discovered that it was due today so I asked if I could bring it into the local office. Mail would take too long and faxing is too expensive. My brother came home and I told him my mom and I needed to run around later and he needed to be back by three at the latest. He left to run some of his own errands and I was so tired I figured I'd take a nap. But I remembered I needed to eat breakfast first so I poured myself a bowl of cereal and ate it. I checked my school book order status because I thought one of my books should have been here by now, but the third one is still on back order. The one that was sent out a few days ago isn't here yet, and I don't know why. I'm trying to relax because there is still twelve days from tomorrow until school starts. Hopefully they will both get here on time, especially the one that is on back order.

After my long nap, we went to turn in my paperwork and then to a store my mom used to work at so she could try on some dresses. She tried on four different types and found one she wanted to put on layway and another she really likes and wants to get later. Then we went to Walmart and I got my glasses adjusted as well as some tortillas for dinner.

We came home and I quickly cooked dinner so I could get a walk outside before any possible rain started up again. I walked 1.6 miles in 35 minutes. I felt like I was moving a lot faster than that, but towards the end I got tired. This past week has seriously lacked in walks outside on my own. Four total, two of which I was in too much pain and discomfort to really enjoy and the other two were under two miles and while hoping the rain didn't interrupt me. However, those shorter walks were still good and beneficial to me in many ways.

When I got back I had to take the dog out, get the trash out to the curb which wasn't an easy task, and then desperately needed to get my two tacos together because it had been just over four hours since I had last eaten and I started getting grumpy! Finally... it was time for a shower and relaxing on the computer.

Day 76:

Yesterday I was woken up an hour before my alarm was set to go off, to my nephews rummaging around in the fridge. I was beyond pissed off and yelled at my brother that they were his kids and I shouldn't have to wake up to them in the fridge. They'd already gotten in there one morning before he'd woken up last week while I was at my sister's and he was told to put the childproof doorknob on the inside of his door at night. He doesn't do anything until he absolutely has to or is pressured enough, it's ridiculous. Then I saw it was raining outside, which squashed my plans to get an outside three mile walk in before my psychologist appointment.

I tried to go back to sleep and maybe got a half hour more. After my alarm went off my brother left to take the youngest to my sister's house and I decided to use his room to exercise in. I did nearly an hour worth of walking videos from on demand and even tried a new one. Then it was time to get a shower, get ready, eat breakfast, and get out the door.

The appointment went well enough. Obviously it wasn't easy but the guy was nice and I answered all of his questions as honestly as possible. He asked me about my physical issues as well as my mental issues for some reason. Then he seemed to focus on my anxiety more than my depression, even though I feel the latter is more prominent. Maybe he thought that deserved more attention because that would prevent me from working more than the depression, I don't know. However, he did ask me about suicide like everyone else has so far. I've never seriously considered doing it myself but it has crossed my mind many times and at my lowest point, I understood how people could do it. I just know I could never do that to my family, it wouldn't be fair.

My mom and I ran some errands after my appointment and then we came home and my brother left with his older son to go pick up a present one of his friend's couldn't bring to the party. Since it was raining once again, I did a 25 minute walking video while he was gone. Shortly after he returned, I laid down to get a short forty-five minute nap.

Then it was time to go to the library. My mom has her weight loss support group there and a few days ago Ryan was asking about going there to play with the trains. I figured since it was just him, it was manageable for me. Otherwise his little brother runs through the bookshelves and all around the children's library area and that just isn't good when Ryan wants to be glued to the train table. He played with the trains, house and people, and a couple puzzles for a good hour before I really had to get him out of there because it had been a while since I'd eaten. We visited the restroom and I got a drink from the drinking fountain before we headed downstairs. I got him down there on the idea that he could find a firetruck movie. So we searched and I came upon the Planes movie and had to grab it. Finally we found a firetrucks video with Little Einsteins and grabbed it too. When we got to the checkout desk, I discovered my Jesse McCartney CD was on hold as well. It was a surprise since I hadn't received a call or email about it. We went outside and I tried to give him a snack, but he was too excited and wound up to eat. So I ate some of my snack while he ran around the little patio and the bushes around it. We went back inside to see if my mom was done and they were finishing up so we went inside and he charmed all the ladies in there.

Once we were home and he had finished his dinner, it was definitely time for bed. He watched the firetruck episode on the DVD twice and then kept playing with his new firetruck present. Eventually he started bumping it into the wall and I had to go take it away so he could go to sleep. He could barely even hold his eyes open and was so overtired that he started crying about it. I got him calm and I think he fell asleep right after that.

Day 75:

This morning I got up at four thirty again. I did a one mile walking video before Cardio Max and a one mile walking video afterwards. Then I had some milk and went back to bed for a little under two hours. Something I forgot to mention in my last post was that I wasn't out of breath when I started the cool down for Cardio Max today or yesterday. It's amazing because every other time I've used it has been at the beginning of an exercise regiment and I was always out of breath by then, so much so that it made the yoga type stretches pretty hard to do... even after a couple weeks of doing it. Now after just ten and a half weeks of walking and walking videos, I have a really sped up my exercise recovery and increased my endurance. It's amazing to me to find this out.

Unfortunately I hurt a rib doing a different activity yesterday. My rib hurts pretty bad in the front but also aches a bit in the back. This made moving around, taking care of the boys, and doing my other exercises difficult throughout the day.

I had the boys from nine thirty until nearly six o'clock. We took a SLOW one mile walk around ten thirty. It took twenty-eight minutes. Someone stopped to talk to me and I think it was at least a minute or two, so I wasn't moving as slow as that, but I logged it as that. Then we came home and it was time for lunch and then nap. My youngest nephew fell asleep really fast, and even wanted me to rock him to sleep as opposed to my mom because she was taking a long time changing her clothes after church and I told him he could let me rock him if he wanted. He said yeah and came to climb on my lap, and he was out like a light. He was a tired boy.

They were "sleeping" or playing quietly for about two hours, so I got a nice break. My cat even came out of hiding under my bed. She had been mad at me for abandoning her for a night when I went to my sister's, but has apparently forgiven me. She has also been preoccupied with trying to get our resident wild mouse. I think it might be dead though because I haven't seen it for a couple days.

Then I got them in their highchairs for a snack and suckers while I cut up at least six or seven chicken breasts, got them on baking sheets, seasoned them, and stuck them in the oven. I got them down and they played for a while. I got the chicken out when it was ready. Then we played around for a while more. Finally around four thirty, I started cutting some of the chicken up for a chicken noodle casserole. And started making the noodles, corn, etc. for it. I got it in the oven and it was done by about five fifteen. The kids ate some noodles with butter on them, chicken, and corn by itself because they don't like the casserole as a whole.

There was still at least half an hour until my brother home and I got a bit irritated that he took longer than he should to get home because it was supposed to rain tonight and I really wanted to get out and get a walk before it did so. I finally left about six o'clock and only walked 1.2 miles at a 22.5 minute mile pace because of my rib hurting and my muscles being sore due to the new workout and also the activity yesterday. I also did a lot of activity today anyway.

When I got back I made myself a giant chicken salad for dinner, which was nearly 300 calories: 2 cups of iceberg lettuce, a quarter of a tomato, six slices of cucumber, and at least 5-6oz of cut up baked chicken. I also used light ranch dressing which rounds out the salad taste wise. I know it's not the best dressing, but it tastes good and that's how I like my salads. So if it works for me, then I'm going to do it.

Tomorrow I've got another psychologist appointment for a different type of assistance. After the one last week, I'm not feeling as nervous, but am a little so since it is a different doctor and I don't know how it's going to go or what they're going to report about my condition. I'm planning to get up a few hours before it so that I can hopefully take a 3 mile walk instead of getting up super early. It hasn't worked out these past two days doing the CM workout because I've drank so much water due to the intensity, that I can barely sleep an hour at a time without having to get up and go to the bathroom when I go back to bed. That's left me pretty tired.

Day 74:

Today I got up at four thirty and did level one of Biggest Loser Cardio Max as well as 38 minutes worth of walking videos. Then I went back to bed for a few more hours. I spent the majority of the day eating fiber-rich foods and finishing the second half of the book I've been working on. I was having issues today and now am in pain, although the initial issue is no longer a problem... it just resulted in leaving me in pain for the foreseeable future.

Other than that the day was boring and peaceful, relatively good. I was going to make baked chicken but by that point the pain was bad and my mom offered to buy everyone dinner. That was nice for us all.

Day 73:

Yesterday I still had a headache when I woke up, taking Tylenol and more Sudafed. I ended up going back to bed for an hour or so because I was so tired and my head was still giving me issues. Thankfully the nap did me good so I got ready and took a walk. I ended up walking further than I planned due to map issues, and walked 3.2 miles in 71 minutes which came to 22 minutes per mile. It wasn't my best but considering I didn't feel well and was in another town where my sister lives and I don't know the area as well, that was a good speed.

When I came back from my walk my head felt even better and I was able to eat real food. I had only had a can of pears and a slice of bread before that because my stomach wasn't happy, but when I got back I had a lunch of oatmeal. Then I went home around three thirty.

I had the boys from a little after four until nearly midnight. It was exhausting especially since moving around a lot, bending over, and chasing after them made my headache reach new heights. My mom was also in a bad mood the whole evening which made everything worse. Add that to other body issues I was experiencing, and it wasn't a good night. I did take the boys for a 1.5 mile walk in their stroller, also with horrible speeds (26.6 min/mile wow). However, I hadn't wanted to raise my heart rate too high and have the headache return full force. When we got back, I took the dog out and a few other things and then it was time for bed for them.

Things were relatively peaceful after that except for my mom being in a bad mood. She ended up telling me a story about my brother's screw up that morning. I guess that would explain her bad mood, but it was really irritating that most of her anger seemed angled at me for some reason.

Day 72:

On Thursday I meant to wake up early and exercise but stayed up too late and didn't get up to do my videos. I tried to compensate by taking a 4.5 mile walk and did well at 87 minutes, but my muscles were sore and joints were stiff.

I took care of the boys for a couple hours while my brother filled out the form I needed. Then I did dishes, took the trash out, and anything else I could before heading out to take another walk. This time my legs felt better at first but soon the joint pain was awful. I was trying to walk over two and a half miles, but ended up only walking 1.7 miles because I listened to my body.

It was pretty much time to finish packing and get a shower before my appointment when I got back. So I did all that and made sure my sister had some good food choices and enough water for while I was there and she did, so I didn't need to bring anything except the beer I was going to buy on the way.

My appointment with the psychologist went well and I was able to be honest despite still being nervous and anxious. He hit a lot of things spot on: father figure issues, weight issues, me being in "pain" and needing to start my life. So I'm optimistic that his assessment will reflect that I really do need the assistance I applied for last week. But I'm still nervous about that, however there's no time to really think too much about it.

Afterwards my mom wanted to take me to dinner at Applebee's. I ate one of her pretzel stick appetizers, which was like 290 or less calories and I also ordered a chicken freshcada off the healthy meals page. It was 440 calories and included a piece of grilled chicken on top of rice, with zucchini, peppers, and some other things. I only ate the chicken, rice, and zucchini for the most part because peppers don't agree with my stomach. I'm impressed with myself for making another good food choice while eating out, twice in one week, even though I really wanted to just go crazy and order something else. I reasoned it out in my mind that I didn't want to undo all the work I've done.

I was already developing a sinus/tension headache before I arrived at my sister's. I took two sudafed pills as well as a dose of Tylenol in a short amount of time and ended up unable to keep my eyes open when eleven o'clock rolled around. I only had one drink with two shots of vodka in it and two lite beers before this happened. Usually we have at least twice as many drinks and stay up at least two to three hours later, but what can you do?

Day 71:

This morning I weighed in and was happy to see 280.8 staring back at me from the scale. I lost 3.4 pounds in the past week for a grand total of 28.6 pounds so far. I just increased my daily calorie range by one fifty since I want to average between 2000-2100 now because that's where I was this week and still lost nearly three and a half pounds.

The day started out pretty relaxing. I read about four chapters of a book I checked out. It's part of a series I've been following for a while. Then I got five out of six things I need to turn in for assistance ready and into envelopes. My mom and I went to the post office so they can hopefully be sent out tomorrow. Then we went to a store to get household items and got some lunch.

After we got home I took a shower and then continued reading the book. I read quite a few chapters before my brother had to get ready for work.

I was planning to take my nephews for a walk tonight but by the time I fed the boys dinner and was able to eat my own, it was about six fifteen. It would have taken at least ten to fifteen minutes to get the boys ready and possibly longer if Ryan didn't want to get ready and I just didn't feel like dealing with that tonight. So I took the boys out onto the porch for twenty minutes instead and then got them ready for bed.

While my mom was rocking the baby, I started doing dishes and finished up after I put him in his bed. I got most of the usual done, which is only about half of the dishes. It takes too much time plus we don't have enough hot water at any given time for me to do all of them, not to mention my back pain is unbearable most of the time when I wash dishes. So better half than none.

Day 70:

Again I overslept, this time by an hour and a half. I hadn't planned on taking a morning walk so that was okay. I felt a bit out of sorts today after my high activity day yesterday, and with a planned lighter activity day today. I think it threw me off my game a little. I also didn't have a big appetite and didn't feel like drinking much water, although I was trying.

I took a 1.2 mile walk this afternoon to test out my new pedometer. Then I took the dog for a 10+ minute walk and played around with it some more, trying to get it to work right. I think I got it working well outside and I wore it around the house a little but it didn't track my steps accurately.

I accomplished a lot. I got the rest of the ten page form filled out and my mom helped me fine tune what I had wrote down for the answers. I also got confirmations for two of my appointments filled out. I need to mail those, fax the form, and fax a few other things tomorrow. I really hope the community office allows me to do so or we will have to go somewhere and pay to have them faxed or I will have to mail them. So I made myself a hefty to-do list for tomorrow but I'm confident I can get it done.

We didn't finish the form until seven forty-five and I nearly forgot I wanted to take a second walk. I barely left with enough daylight to walk 2 miles. It was pretty dark when I came back, but thankfully it didn't start raining this time lol.

Day 69:

Yesterday I overslept my alarm by two hours. I got up and had a bowl of cereal and then prepared for my walk and headed out the door. I took the 4.5 mile walk I had planned for Sunday and had to postpone due to the sinus migraine on Saturday night. I walked the mileage in 86 minutes, shaving a minute off of the last time! So happy for that.

When I got back a neighbor we had met at the yard sale came by with her 3 month old baby. I got to hold him after I took the dog out and used the restroom. Every time I stood him up on my lap he smiled and as I talked to him he started cooing at me. There is something theraputic about holding babies, especially when they're content, happy, and don't spit up on you!

After that I called and made my psychologist appointment for Thursday. I'm surprised they were able to schedule me so soon but I'm glad I can get this ball rolling in the right direction finally. Then I made myself lunch of ramen noodles with sliced zucchini and carrots because I was really hungry by then.

While my mom was at the library for her weight loss support group, I went to the local walking park and walked five times around for a total of 3.75 miles. I thought I was moving really fast but only averaged a 21 minute mile. However, that's still great in my mind. Afterwards my parents took me to dinner to "thank me for all I do" for everyone. I chose Red Robin and got a simply grilled chicken sandwich with fruit salad instead of fries. It was good but I was shocked at the amount of calories when I got home 574 between the two things. However, they were good choices and I don't regret the meal.

Day 68:

On Sunday I spent a lot of time recovering from the busy few days preceding it, as well as the sinus pressure. I took a 3.3 mile walk in the morning. I started out just thinking I'd do a mile to a mile and a half if my head wasn't feeling well, and when I felt okay I kept going.

The afternoon was pretty low-key. Once they got down for their naps, the boys slept a while and it was peaceful. I started working on a ten page form for some assistance I applied for, everything in great detail. I didn't get much done because I started right before the kids woke up from their nap and they were cranky and fussing/crying a lot, which was distracting.

Later I moved some of the yard sale boxes off of the porch and back into the shed. I put two end tables on our porch because someone bought them and wanted to pick them up. Then I headed out for a walk. I wanted to walk 2.7 miles so that my total for the day would have been six miles but it started raining almost two miles in. I got to about a third of a mile from the house before it started pouring. Due to the rain and the early darkness that descended, I had to cut the extra tenth of a mile off my walk. I came through the door completely dripping wet, water literally dropping off the ends of my hair as I walked around.

Day 67:

Yesterday I got to sleep in until nearly six. Then I got up and did three walking videos from on demand: a one mile and two others totaling 38 minutes. I ate breakfast and sat down to rest my feet for a little while before starting the yard sale set up. My brother was supposed to help me starting at seven forty-five but he was still sleeping so I let him sleep and decided to do it all on my own since my mom said we didn't need to put some things out for the second day (like the kitchen table and a filing cabinet). However, about half an hour later when I was trying to get my bed frame out of the shed, the kitchen table started sliding and the only thing that kept it up was my heel. So I managed to get it back up and somewhat stable. Then I went inside to get my brother because I didn't want to get hurt.

My mom was also supposed to join me outside between eight thirty and nine but she didn't come out until ten o'clock. We didn't have anyone stop by the yard sale until probably eleven thirty. Then one of the two women who stopped by sent her husband back later to look at my old broken-down laptop. I ended up selling it for five dollars, which it should have been at least fifteen to twenty because I was tired of not selling anything. Just as I started packing up our neighbors from across the street came by to look at the end tables but didn't have money for them so I told them they could come back and knock on the door later. However, we were gone until about eight o'clock, so I have no idea if they stopped by or not and now feel a little awful about it.

My brother came home with the boys about twelve forty-five and when my mom asked him if he was going to buy a cake for his oldest son's birthday party, he said he didn't have any money. He had just got paid the day before and this proves that his kids aren't as much of a priority as they should be. He has even avoided buying shoes for them, which caused his youngest son's toes to start curling from his shoes being so small. he's almost out of the next whole size up because my brother waited so long. If it wasn't for me finding a pair of old size 7's his brother used to wear, he wouldn't even have shoes that somewhat fit his feet! I started crying while finishing the clean up because I was so tired physically and also emotionally.

I was absolutely starving when I came in so I managed to get myself something for dinner with veggies and protein. Then I tried to take a 45 minute nap, but between babies screaming their heads off and then my mom coming home, putting her purse on the table where my fan rests, and subsequently knocking the fan over onto my bed cut my nap short. I was pissed off and overly tired by that point and started crying again. This time was uncontrollable. I felt severely depressed. It was a hard few days with very minimal sleep. I cried for over an hour straight and nearly didn't go to my nephew's birthday party.

I did go and we were there for three hours due to my mom going to a memorial service and not getting back to pick us up until more than an hour after everyone else left. I didn't eat any cake but was starving since I hadn't eaten since lunch, so I pulled a baggy of stale Cheerios out of my nephews' diaper bag and ate a few handfuls of that while they were playing with their daddy. Then I made him go get dinner for him and them and he came back with a small pizza. So I had a slice of that for dinner.

When we got home, I had a bad sinus headache. I took two sudafed pills within a couple hours time plus the tylenol I had taken before the birthday party. I slept for a little over an hour and woke up to a total sinus migraine. I started crying again because it hurt so bad and was causing me to be nauseous. My mom got me a wet washcloth because she had just come home from going to another gathering for my stepdad's reunion. Then she got me some applesauce (I only ate half) and it wasn't helping the nausea even though I was so hungry. So I looked around a bit and found my vanilla wafers in the cabinet and asked her if that might be a good idea, she said yes. They were starting to get stale so I took a few out and gave her the rest. I ate one slowly and my stomach started to feel better. My head was feeling slightly better. So I got a bowl from the cabinet just in case, laid down on my bed, and put the washcloth back on my forehead. I slept for an hour and my head felt even more better so I took some tylenol and went to bed for the night.

Day 66:

Today I got up at four thirty, but ended up sitting on the edge of my bed and dozing off for about ten minutes while trying to decide whether my feet could take exercising or not. Since I had worn my shoes and did a lot of standing/walking around for about nine hours out of the day, the outer sides of my feet were hurting really bad. I finally decided to just do it and my feet were mostly okay for the whole 3 miles WATP.

After that, I made myself a high protein breakfast of three eggs, half a serving of cheese, and a cup of milk. I decided to eat these things for breakfast instead of my usual because I had been low on protein for like five days straight and with all the exercising I do, that was a horrible thing. I ended up getting 27g of protein with this breakfast, which is close to half of my minimum protein for each day. I got a shower after I ate and restored my iPod nano to it's original settings so I could sell it.

We started setting up for the yard sale at seven thirty. My brother carried the boxes of baby clothes, the two end tables, and helped me carry the kitchen table. Other than that, most of it was me. There was quite a bit of other things: three tall metal lamps, metal foot and head boards for a twin bed, two chairs for the kitchen table, etc. I also spent a lot of time bent over and setting up the baby clothes, other baby stuff, and many other things.

The yard sale started at eight thirty but within a short period of time, my mom asked me to carry like four more boxes out from the shed to the yard (about 60-80 feet). My ribs and muscles were really aching by then but what can I do? The remainder of the five hour yard sale was pretty boring although we sold the car seat, a few pairs of baby pants, some baby toys, and my old down comforter. That means I only made $10, but better than nothing. I was hoping to sell some of my big ticket items of dvds, laptop, iPod, but tomorrow's a new day and also Saturday which should hopefully bring more yard sale traffic.

There was a storm coming and we started packing up a little early at one forty. We got everything but the two card tables, filing cabinet, and kitchen table put away before it started raining. Then we got everything but the kitchen table away before it started pouring. I had to call my brother and thankfully he was nearly home so he helped me carry it to the shed. Then we RAN back into the house. It was quite funny imagery in my mind and made me laugh for a few minutes at the ludicrousness of it all.

I took a long nap due to lack of sleep and lots of physical activity. I tried to call the psychologist at three forty-five and they were already closed. Indiana doctor's offices and businesses hours are super weird. Anyway, I guess I will call on Monday in which they're open from nine to nine (WHAT? lol). I also have two other appointments this month for another reason, another mental one and one physical. It's going to be a busy month with those and two birthday parties plus a "weekend" drinking with my sister in the first two weeks, school starting and the craziness that entails plus more in the second half.

When I woke up I had a snack of broccoli, carrots, and string cheese. My parents left for my stepdad's high school reunion dinner. I took the dog for a ten minute walk, took care of the kitty litter box, and did a one mile walking video from on demand. I wanted to do something and was planning two short videos but one was more than enough on my sore muscles and after all the "exercising" I did today. Then I baked chicken, made myself a chicken salad for dinner, and then sat down to rest and relax.

Day 65:

Yesterday was non-stop, barely rest day and forget about relaxing. I took my 4.5 mile walk in the morning and came home to run around taking pictures of things for the yard sale, eat lunch, take the trash out, etc. Then it was time to leave for the food pantry. I spent the first half hour or so walking back and forth on the sidewalk outside while talking to my sister on the phone because I was trying to avoid sitting in the hall waiting for our turn. I ended up sitting there for over an hour anyway because we were late coming and it took forever to get to us. The good news is we scored two homegrown cucumbers, a zucchini squash, two cans refried beans for taco nights, and two bags of whole grain elbow noodles. These aren't usual items there. We came home and I efficiently put everything away.

AS SOON AS I finished putting all the food away, it was time for my brother to go to work and I had to watch the boys. I did the dishes and some other things. Then I fed them dinner because I realized I desperately needed to eat myself because it had been a long time since I ate (which was only a small snack). It ended up being six hours between eating- BAD! Needless to say I was a bit grumpy by the time I got to eat. Afterwards I went through some of the boys clothes that we were going to sell at the yard sale in order to get to the infant car seat they were sitting on. I found some size 6.5 and 7 sneakers, and since my youngest nephew's toes are way too long for his sixes, I tried both pairs on. The 6.5 ones were too small and the size 7's will barely fit for two to six weeks max, but it helps my brother save a little money right now. His big brother still needs shoes in the next few days, but their feet are getting really close in size!

When I finished with that it was time for a one mile walk and then bedtime. My sister and her "ex" husband came over so he could mow the lawn and my mom let her in at first, even though we were trying to get the kids to sleep. She ended up going on the porch and I got the baby to sleep relatively quickly. The shocker was that his brother was already asleep when I carried him to his bed, it was only 8 or a little before so that was really shocking. Usually it's about nine to nine thirty that the older boy falls asleep these days. He must have been exhausted.

I got my mom to take my 2 month progress pictures, which due to lack of any natural light in the house turned out grainy on my iPod touch, but at least I got them taken. I had thrown the car seat cover in the washer and took it out to hang up, cleaned up the plastic part and the base, made signs for the yard sale, etc.

By the time I got to put my progress pictures side by side and post them on here, I was barely staying awake and got frustrated because the pictures were really crappy. I got a half hour sleep while my mom was home but then she had to leave to pick my brother up so I had to stay awake. Finally it was time to crash but I didn't sleep well. I needed to get up at four thirty the next morning to exercise and after a crazy day, the rest didn't come easy.

Day 64:

Wednesday I weighed in and was down 3.8 pounds from the week before, which meant I hit 25 pounds lost in just two months! Yay! Later in the day I also discovered that I am now halfway between meeting my first goal and reaching my second goal, woo hoo! That makes me exceedingly happy.

I had an appointment for medical assistance. I felt like I didn't answer the questions as honestly as I should because I felt like I do in a job interview, that I should have the answer ready as soon as they ask me. However, she said I would have a better chance for qualifying through my mental problems and I have to see a psychologist to determine this. I haven't made the appointment yet because it's been crazy busy the past few days, but I will do so on Monday.

After we ran some errands and stopped for a birthday ice cream cone for my brother's oldest, we came home and I took a long nap since I had the day off and it was a rest day. Then I made dinner for everyone and continued resting. For the most part the day was nice and relaxing.

Day 63:

Yesterday morning I did 3 miles WATP with the new DVD plus one mile with another video from on demand, so four miles total. Then I went back to bed for a few hours. It felt to get in those four miles like I wanted.

Then I started babysitting the boys at noon and had them until eleven thirty. They only slept for one hour! Their usual is half an hour to an hour longer, so that short break was awful. I had a lot of patience when I started the babysitting shift, but by four or so my patience was nearly all gone. It wasn't all on them, part of it was because my stepdad was "grumpier" than usual as my mom said, which made me feel like I had to keep the kids quieter than normal, which in turn made me more stressed out. I took them out on the porch for an hour! Then I let them watch some shows in their room, mostly shapes, colors, and numbers.

I made them dinner around four thirty because I was hungry and they seemed to be too. Then I made myself two burritos with kidney beans and mild cheddar cheese, omg they tasted so good. Later around six I took the boys for a mile and a half walk in 36 minutes. Not the best time, but good because I barely wanted to go. We came back, I gave them a snack, and then got them ready for bed. The rest of the evening was okay and I even ordered my books for school since it starts in less than a month.

Shortly after the boys fell asleep, I thought I heard the youngest fussing, so I got up and darted back there... and apparently scared a mouse into running down and ducking under their door. It turns out the baby wasn't fussing, neither boy was even awake nor did they wake up while I used a flashlight to search under the dresser and under each of the boys' beds. I couldn't find it... Then tonight my mom saw it run back into the living room and under my bed. GRR! I hate that. I hope my cat doesn't catch a disease from it because she spends a lot of time under there.

Day 62:

This morning I did 3 miles WATP. I had wanted to do four, but when I woke up that's all I felt like doing. I also got interrupted twice by my mom while doing the video so that added to it. I went back to bed for a few hours afterwards and slept like a log, which was much needed.

The babysitting day was pretty simple. I got them lunch, got them down for their naps, and then watched them for a couple hours after they woke up. I managed to do some dishes after they woke up. Then as soon as my brother came home I started making an early dinner since my parents and I were planning to leave for the library at five.

At the library, I picked out the Biggest Loser "The Workout" DVD.and a 3 mile WATP video. The latter was all they had of Leslie's videos. I wanted to choose another DVD besides just a walking one and since I've had some luck with BL videos, I thought that the best route since nothing else looked good.

After stashing the DVDs in the car, I took off for a walk. I walked 2.6 miles in 49 minutes, which is an amazing time for being in town and walking up and down hills, walking on cracked and uneven sidewalks, waiting for cars before crossing some streets, crossing one light, etc. Usually when I walk in town, I get really bad speeds due to all these factors, but amazingly I did well and got a good walking workout.

Tomorrow I have to get up at four thirty. I hope to do 5 miles WATP or 3 miles plus the Biggest Loser DVD for 30 minutes, but we'll see what I feel like in the morning. Having new DVDs makes me feel more motivated to get up again. The last one was very unmotivating and uninteresting, nothing to really look forward to in the morning. Then I have the boys from noon to eleven thirty, so I will definitely be taking them for a 1-1.5 mile walk in the evening because it helps pass the time and keeps us all entertained. Hopefully I will feel up to stopping at the park for them to play as well.

Day 61:

Today I got up at nine forty-five. I was motivated for the day but hung around the house a little longer than I should have. It was eleven when I finally got out the door. I made sure to bring a bottle of water since I knew ahead of time I would be walking a really long distance. And boy did I need that water! The sun was beating down on me and I was wearing dark clothes so they absorbed the heat, plus it was humid and 78-80 degrees which is a few degrees higher than I would normally take a long walk in. I took a drink at different intervals (usually around half to three-quarters of a mile) to make it last the whole walk and it definitely helped. The walk took me 87 minutes, which averages to 19.33 minutes per mile. It was four minutes less than the last time I walked the same distance, so I'm happy for that!

Back at home I got another bottle of water, threw a load of clothes in the washer, got lunch, and went on the childcare website but couldn't get anywhere because it wouldn't let me register. I will have to call about that tomorrow. Then I did my strength training, got a shower, made a list of what I'd need for my appointment on Wednesday, made a list of what we're going to sell at the yard sale and prepared a sort of ad for it. Afterwards, I took a catnap before doing dishes and making dinner. About an hour after I finished dinner I took a two mile walk. It was really windy and the setting sun was in my eyes for half of it, it was a drastic difference from the walk earlier in the day. I walked the two miles in 40 minutes.

Tomorrow I have to get up early to do WATP. I also need to make two phone calls for the childcare and to the place I have the appointment at to make sure I'm bringing the right people and papers with me when I go. I only have my nephews from ten thirty till about three thirty, so it'll be a short babysitting day thankfully. In the evening I'm going to the library to return the DVD and hopefully find a new one. I don't know if I'll get another WATP or something else, I just need another DVD for sure. After that I plan to walk around the library neighborhood. It will be a nice change of scenery with all the nice older houses over there. The cracked and severely uneven sidewalks won't be so much fun but I've walked on them many times before so it'll be fine.

Day 60:

This morning I succeeded in getting up at 4:30am to do WATP. I did four miles and about half an hour after I finished, I went back to bed to get a couple hours of sleep before I had to watch the boys. I ended up only watching them for about twenty minutes while my brother helped my mom move boxes. Then she went through them and told him she'd text him when and if she needed more help. Since I was now "on call" in a sort, I needed to stay ready, but I was so tired still and it was difficult to keep my eyes open. So I decided to take the boys for a walk. I wanted to do one and a half miles, but decided not to and it was a good decision because I barely made it the one mile in 26 minutes. I was tired, my muscles needed more rest, and I was irritated.

When we returned, my brother was gone. No one told me why he was gone or anything and my parents were on the porch so I left the boys out there. I had no patience to try watching them inside if my brother had left. It turned out that my mom had sent him out to get lunch for everyone. He got me a buffalo ranch mcchicken and an unsweetened tea, and I was hungry at that point so I ate the sandwich and then looked up the nutrition facts afterwards--- only 360 calories, not bad. The sodium content was way too high though, but once in a while isn't too awful. After I ate I took a nap and ended up sleeping 3 1/2 hours because I took a pill to relax, hoping the pain in my neck would ease by the time I woke up. It did but only for like half an hour. So frustrating.

I took the dog for a ten minute walk, came back and relaxed a bit, and then my mom and I made some rib meat barbecue sandwiches for dinner. I ate mine and then read the book I'm trying to get through on my Kindle. Then I took a walk my myself: 1.7 miles in 36 minutes, which amounts to a 21 minute mile. I felt like I was moving faster but I'm happy with the timing at the same time.

By the time I got home, my brother had returned from spending time with his friend. My mom and I headed to Walmart to get some food items we needed as well as toilet paper which we were running way too low on. I also bought some notebooks since I've been wanting to do that for a while. I got five solid colored one subject notebooks, one purple with butterflies on it, a small cheap journal with heart shaped peace signs on it, a shopping list magnet thing, and a four pack of 3x5" memo pads. I will use four of the notebooks for my classes next month- one for each subject, the other two will be for exercise and nutrition notes from SP articles, the little journal thing will be for me to write my daily calories in and weekly calories burned in, the shopping list thing will be used for my daily to-do lists that help me do what needs to be done, and then I will give the boys each one memo book and use the other two for anything else I want or need to. It feels good to have all those notebooks. I'm a huge nerd and love making lists and staying organized, and it is relieving to know I have the tools to do so, and that I got all of those notebooks for just under $3 (with tax included lol).

Tomorrow I will do a 4.5 mile walk to work towards my five mile goal. I also need to make a list of what each of us needs for some assistance for myself, go online and make a short list of possible childcare providers for the boys soon so that when they call my brother to make an appointment we have the list, and also need to work on some things for the yard sale coming up. The dishes need to be done as well and I will be making sirloin steaks and probably shells and cheese or rice for dinner. It will be a full day, but as I write about it it makes me feel better and more prepared.

Day 59:

Today I got up at nine forty-five. I had a bowl of cereal and took the dog out, and that sort of thing. Then I left a little after eleven. I really didn't feel like taking a walk outside because my hips were really hurting from all the walking on pavement I did the day before, but it was the only choice I was left with since I didn't get up before dawn to do WATP. I decided to walk 4.5 miles and end with a route I like due to the view at the end and the feeling it gives me. I only made it four miles though because I was in pain. I walked it in 79 minutes, which is a 19.75 minute per mile average. I'm glad I'm hitting more in the ranges of nineteen to under twenty minute miles more often. It's an awesome feeling to be walking faster most of my walks.

I had the boys starting at two and will have them for about forty-five minutes longer. The baby is teething and having tummy issues as well as a low fever due to it. I took them for their one mile walk, fed them dinner, let them play, drew pictures with them, and then it was bedtime.

Tomorrow I will definitely get up to do WATP. Then I will go back to bed for a couple hours before I get up at nine to watch the boys for an hour or two while my brother helps my mom look through the shed for things we want to sell at our upcoming yard sale. After that, sometime in the afternoon, I need to take a trip to the place I got my glasses and get the earpieces adjusted. I called and they said they do offer free earpieces adjustments, so I need to get that done, I'm getting tired of my glasses falling down my nose... and also of being afraid they'll end up falling into the toilet lol.

Day 57 (Wednesday):

Wednesday was my rest day. I took my niece to the park, we came back and I got her lunch, then I took a nap. Around five she was picked up and her sister was dropped off. I made spaghetti for dinner. Then I took my other niece to the park. I came back and made brownies because they sounded good. Of course I went over my calories for the day, but sometimes that happens on my rest days. I kept active taking the girls to the park, even played on the playground equipment which I normally don't do. I went up the bottom steps, jumped down the other side, stepped back up, etc. I also ran to try to keep up with my niece on the way back from the park in the evening because she wanted to speed walk, and boy that girl is fast.
*********
Day 58 (yesterday):

Yesterday I took three walks: one in the morning for 3 miles in 59 minutes, one in the afternoon for 2.6 miles in 49 minutes (19 minute mile again finally!), and one in the evening with my nephews for one mile in 24 minutes.

I had the boys from four thirty until eleven thirty. The older one was grumpy when he first came home, but after my brother and parents left, his mood improved drastically. They played for a while and then I got them dinner. He even showed us a new side to his wild imagination when my parents came back. A little before seven we left for our walk. Then it was time for bed.

My brother texted me around ten forty saying he was already done, but right as he texted me the baby had woken up and was fussing so I didn't see the text until twenty minutes later. I sent my mom to get him and it took them FORTY minutes to return when it should have taken only half that. I was a little upset that no one had thought to text me. I was desperate to get ready for bed because I needed to get up early to do WATP.

So I got ready and then sat down on my bed to read some of a book to relax enough to fall asleep. My brother kept talking at a normal volume and even after I laid down and he could seem me laying down, he kept it up. Something was just so important to talk to my mom about that he couldn't wait to talk to her the next day. I was so frustrated with him, seriously rude. Forty-five minutes after I finally fell asleep, I woke up to my iPod crashing into the wall. I apparently knocked it off and then I couldn't find it. I searched desperately for it since it had one of my two alarms set on it. I ended up losing it and crying, and continued to cry because I guess I was so tired and needed a good cry. Then I finally found it but I thought sleep was more important and ended up resetting my alarms for later in the morning.

Day 56 (Tuesday):

Tuesday I got up and set out to take a 4/4.2 mile walk... I ended up turning around before I got to the point I needed to, but then when I was approaching my house, I decided to go around the "neighborhood" and did 4.5 miles! I beat my record by nearly three-quarters of a mile. I have also added a mile and a third in the past few weeks. So much for my planned half mile increments lol. I walked the 4.5 miles in 91 minutes, which was nearly exactly a twenty minute mile. For that distance, that was awesome for me.

I relaxed at home, ate lunch and took a nap. Then I got a shower before my brother and I had to leave to run errands. We went to the library for him to print and make copies of things we both needed, I put the thing I needed in an envelope and we put it in the mail box at the post office, then we went to his work to drop off his paper, and finally ended up at the store. I got a bottle of Propel water because even though I had brought a water from home, I was craving something with flavor in it and definitely didn't want to blow two hundred calories on a soda. Then we headed to my sister's house early to drop the boys off and pick one of our nieces up.

On the way home, we stopped at another store so she could pick out a treat. Off to home we went and I took my niece to the park and let her play games on the computer as well as watch Pokemon on my brother's TV in his room. She ended up staying up till nearly twelve thirty, and being totally antsy for the whole two plus hours before that. She about drove me nuts.

Day 55:

I set my alarm for four forty-five this morning, but turned it off without really waking up. My brother ended up waking me up at six forty. This caused me to be a bit behind on my exercise goals for the day, but I had sort of planned for both scenarios due to not being sure whether or not I wanted to "sleep in" this morning.

As soon as we finished breakfast, the older boy just couldn't stop saying my name and telling me things. He would say my name every couple minutes and I'm not exaggerating. Since it's that TOM and I was still really tired, barely keeping my eyes open, I was really getting irritated. I tried to show patience and respond well each time he said something but I was losing my mind. My parents got back from taking the car to the mechanics, and I decided to take the boys for a one and a half mile walk.

We came home and they had a snack and played for a while. I did my best to make it to lunch time and even threw a load of clothes in the washer, trying to keep busy somewhat. I served them lunch, had a food disaster for my food only... so by the time I actually got to eat, they were done and needed cleaning up, diaper changes, etc. and I had to put the older one in the room. I told the younger one to sit on grandma's chair so I could eat. I was not happy and my food was cold by then even though it had sat in the warm microwave.

Amazingly the older boy was asleep before I even started rocking his brother. So I got him asleep too and into his bed and then I tried to relax. I would have taken a nap, but their naps vary in length so widely, I didn't want to ruin my chances of being able to take a long nap when my brother got home so I held off. The boys ended up sleeping and then staying quiet in the room until just a few minutes before their dad got home. Then I took a two hour nap due to being so tired and having acquired a bad headache by then.

My brother took the boys out shortly before I woke up and they were gone all afternoon into the evening. I did two walking videos off of On Demand, made dinner, and tried to get rid of the headache that was still there. Then I left around seven forty-five to take a walk. I walked 2.9 miles in 58 minutes, which was a 20 minute mile. It was a pretty good walk except for someone had TWO bonfires burning and that certainly didn't help my sinuses and headache any.

Day 54:

Yesterday I got up at five o'clock. I did two SP strength videos: a 9 minute sitting arms and shoulders workout and a 6 minute legs, hips, and glutes (I believe) workout. It was one of my two days each week to work on strength training, but I was half asleep and doing my usual routine felt like it would put me back to sleep or frustrate me to no end. So I looked up the videos and did those instead. Then I went out and walked 1.7 miles in 36 minutes= 21 minute mile. There was virtually no traffic since it was six fifteen when I left and it was only 60 degrees so it was a nice walk.

I had the boys from seven thirty until after four thirty. It was an exhausting day, but we had the house to ourselves for four of those hours. I tried a couple dancing videos from on demand before finding an 8 minute one I could mostly keep up with. I figured I'd try some dancing since it would keep the boys busy and interested while I exercised a little. Then they had lunch and went down for their naps.

Their naps were super short which led to an exhausting afternoon for about three hours before their dad finally got home. I was immensely relieved to have a break at that point. He left with them to go to a welcome home party at a friend's house and they were gone until nine o'clock, which was past their bedtime.

In the evening I took a 2.3 mile walk in 45 minutes= 19.5 minute mile. I nearly matched my fastest mile, but I think the stop to take a picture of three skunks emerging from a drainage pipe is what slowed me down where I didn't make it. It wasn't even worth it because the picture came out blurry and they just looked like a grey glob in the grass.

I haven't been doing well on my calories, except for Thursday and Saturday. I went over by over two hundred Wednesday, two hundred on Friday and over a hundred yesterday. Hopefully I can be on track for the next two days before weigh in on Wednesday. I blame it on that TOM. I had been experiencing bad PMS symptoms since nearly two weeks ago, and it got even worse the past five days or so.

Day 53:

This morning I set my alarm for four thirty, then reset it for four forty-five because I was having trouble sleeping. I got up and did 4 miles WATP. I pressed full workout on the DVD, but fast-forwarded through the third mile. Then I searched for the older boy's sippy cup because I don't know what happened to it, but apparently he had snuck it into his bedroom, where it's not allowed because they spit it out and shake it out all over the place. I texted my brother and let him know because I could hear the kids moving around and playing in there for like an hour before that, so figured he was mostly awake. He found the cup in there and I went back to bed after they came out into the living room.

I slept for a couple hours and then I got up and got ready for the day. I went out with my brother to run errands and helped him with the boys. He had to get some dress shirts for his new job, buy diapers and other necessities, and I also needed to stop by the library to get a new CD I had on hold. We came home and then my mom took me out to Walmart to try to return the gifted DVDs I wanted to get store credit for shoes from. It turns out that without a receipt you can't even get store credit, you have to swap it out for other electronic items. No thank you, I need shoes.

So my mom took me to Payless to pick out some shoes and said that my brother could just pay her what he was going to let me borrow. I grabbed three pair of Champion shoes in my size and tried on the two cheapest: a ten dollar pair and a fifteen dollar pair. The ten dollar ones were the most awesome because they were a dark turquoise and I had learned to really love that color with my old shoes, which were black and turquoise. Those two pairs of shoes were equally comfortable so I chose the turquoise ones.

This evening I went for a walk and my brother asked to join me. I said it was okay and he got an okay from my mom for her "watching" the boys. The baby was already asleep but his older brother was in bed and awake. We walked 2 miles in 41 minutes= 20.5 minute mile average. I took advantage of having him with me and walked down a stretch of road that made me slightly apprehensive, simply due to the abundance of trees making the path dark even during the day. It was a nice stretch of road and in better shape than it's parallel counterpart further away. It also had two small hills that were effective workouts. Having my brother with me was actually kind of fun and I'm a loner type. He walks about the same pace as me, for the most part but some a little faster... and we were both listening to our music in our earphones, so it was mostly a companionable "silence" except for a comment here or there made by me.

Tomorrow I have the boys from a little after seven until four thirty-ish. I plan to get up about five o'clock and take my new shoes for another spin of 1.5-2 miles. Then I need to remember to do my strength training before or after the walk so that I don't forget later in the day. I don't know if I'll get my nephews out for a walk or not, but probably not if my parents go to church and the house is mostly mine for the morning. I'm hoping to take a 1.2+ mile in the evening as well.

I think I'm a day number ahead of myself somehow...

Yesterday the house was quiet until after four. My brother had orientation for his new job and he arranged for my sister to watch the boys since I would already have them in the evening. So I did WATP in my brother and nephews' smelly and cramped bedroom yesterday morning. I did 5 miles with the new DVD I checked out from the library. It is a one mile a day, five days a week program, but it said in the description that you can combine them to do any number of miles... well the only options are day 1, day 2, etc. and then "full workout" which is all five miles. So I ended up doing five miles.

The boys came back and I made them grilled cheese sandwiches for dinner with some peaches and chips. They got full and got down to play for a while. The oldest seemed in good spirits after spending the day at my sister's but his little brother was cranky, which seems to be the norm after his naps these days. I don't know what his deal is, it's like he needs a 2+ hour nap but he can never sleep more than 1 hour and 15-45 minutes at the most. Occasionally he does a two or more hour nap, but not often enough.

Later we went for a one mile walk around the community. I did it in 24 minutes, which is good in my crappy shoes. I threw them away when we got home because they were wearing down even more and I was planning on getting new ones the next day.

I got them in bed, the baby asleep and the oldest nearly asleep before my parents returned from taking my stepsister shopping. I finished filling out an application for assistance online with some help from my mom since it required information about everyone in the house. Then I relaxed until my brother came home.
