I'm down 14 pounds, but I've decided to mimic the Ideal Protein Diet. Today I am going to research it further and imitate it as closely as possible. I'm very comfortable without carbs, so that's good.When I get my "final" plan. I will note it here. I will follow it closely for the next four months, and see what my results are. I should have lost at least 20 lbs. by then!

I'm back to the 4 EAS shakes and now it's 8 oz. of lean protein and four cups of vegetables. I feel better now. but I'm having a hard time sticking to the 2 tsp. of oil. Water is no problem, I'm trying to stay away from Mio, though. So far so good.

SIMPLIFYING MY PLAN;

4 EAS Carb Control Protein shakes plus one meal of 6 ounces of protein, 2 cups of vegetables, and 2 tsp. of oil. Vitamin supplements, also. Yes, I got the idea from Medifast, but I like simple plans and this works well for me.

Of course lots and lots of water!

One hour of exercise. I haven't weighed this week, and I won't weigh again until my doctor visit on the 5th! But I look much smaller in a photo yesterday! Yay!

The four EAS carb control shakes are great, and I've decided to combine two shakes, and drink them twice a day, with one protein and vegetable meal. Today I went out with my friend for lunch, and all I had was salad and water. So that is one half of my meal. I will eat some protein later. I haven't done my exercise session yet, but I will not forget. I think that adding the fiber powder, and complete liquid vitamins to the first shake makes the difference. I believe that I must exercise 60 minutes, every day, to get the results that I want. That's the thing about tweaking, you have to find out what works for you. Losing weight is not just a calories in - calories out equation. I wish I had known that when, I got discouraged so many other times.
I knew about plateaus, but I didn't know that you could have complete stalls for months!

Now I've decided to continue this lifestyle no matter how fast or slow my progress is. the only change I will make is to continue tweaking.

As of today, I have lost a total of 14 pounds. I had to really, really leave those Atkins treats alone.I am a little skeptical of the sugar alcohols, period. I'm a big fan of convenience, that's obvious, so I've scaled back to four EAS carb control shakes, and one meal. As I've said, let's see how his works. I may change up plans, but I will never give up!

Still another tweak, I've decided to only eat carbs (even fiber powder) early in the day. Let's see how this goes. Oh and by the way, I'm down 13 pounds!

Well, now my weight loss is up to 13 pounds, and I'm still tweaking. I have the same food plan, but basically tweaking means that when life gets in the way I have to find a way to work my plan around it and not throw in the towel. I'm exercising, but I think I need more high impact moves.
I find that I don't like exercise, so I pedal my mini cycle and lift hand weights while I watch television. Still, I have to do more. I've decided to put some commercial shakes in my car and put them in a lunch bag in the trunk of my car. When I need them, I can put in a cup of ice from a restaurant, and still stay on track, and not overeat on the run. Journaling is so helpful because it makes me accountable. I'm definitely in this for the long haul!

I'm still tweaking and I'm making progress! I lost 13 pounds total so far. I'd like to have lost more, but I'm happy. I am encouraged. I've lost 6 inches overall this month! I have also slightly revised my plan;

REVISED PLAN:

1 Meal Replacement Shake
3 Protein Shakes
5 ounces of Lean Protein
3 cups of Leafy Vegetables
64-96 ounces of water
60 minutes of Interval Training per day

I think that this is the formula, we'll see how it goes!

I haven't mastered that full body exercise thing yet, sometimes I hate exercise :(
I'm pretty excited about my new plans, though. I read about the Medifast 5+1 plan. It consists of 5 100 calorie meal/ shakes plus one "Lean and Green" Meal. So for two days I have had 5 100 calorie meal replacement shakes (which I combined myself) and 6 ounces of lean white meat and three servings of vegetables. So far it's been great! I'm not hungry, and I'm enjoying my lean and green meal! More updates to come!

Fage Yogurt has 0 carbs?! That's great! Other yogurts I've tried has a few grams. I've got to try this! I've got to up my exercise, though. I still believe that high protein is the way to go. I went to the doctor and lost some weight. I'm due back in a month, and I want to lose even more. Still tweaking! I will never stop trying or improving. Sometimes it takes time to find what works for each of us. for me, I know it's more exercise.

The high protein, low carb eating is working for me as well. I've lost 26 pounds since Feb. 11th when my doctor recommended I up my protein. What has been a surprise for me is that protein does make me feel full and I don't have the cravings I use to have when my carbs were higher. I never thought I could stomach yogurt but Greek Yogurt (FAGE Total 0) has become my best friend and I've learned to love it.

This is a journey I'm excited about.

I feel good his morning. I had a pork chop and two scrambled eggs for breakfast, along with my supplements (Magnesium, Potassium, and Calcium). I have been researching more and more about low carb eating and I am getting better at it. Every roadblock I encounter has a solution, and when I apply that solution, it works out for me. I very rarely crave simple carbs anymore!

I'm using my food scale and measuring spoons, turns out my eyeballing wasn't so far off. I'm slowly pumping up my strength training. Today is Monday so I have to get on the ball! I've planned my menus as follows:
3 meals per day. At each meal; 5 oz of lean protein, 1/2 c of foundation vegetables, 2 EAS carb control shakes, 64+ ounces of water and supplements (magnesium, potassium, calcium, and multi-vitamins.)
I did this yesterday, and lost 1 pound, and until I was this precise, I was at a standstill.
I plan to continue with this plan. I do have a little "induction flu" (headache), so I took a Tylenol, and I'm hoping it goes away.

I'm also using my measuring spoons, and my measuring cups. I'm also going to up my water intake. Today is Friday, so I'd better get on those strength training exercises, right away! emoticon

I've decided to do my strength training on Mon- Wed- Fri. Today, I got up and did a lot of my exercise early. I'm learning how to do more full body exercises, that is working several areas of my body at one time. I think planning is the key. Still Tweaking.

I still committed to this low carb life style, so I guess I'll just have to keep tweaking. I'll probably do it more in the exercise area. Unfortunately, I stayed on a plateau, but I also had a very long plateau on the conventional low calorie diet. No matter what, I'll keep trying. I'm not discouraged.

My doctor recommended a high protein low carb diet back on Feb. 11th and it's going great. This is what I do:

Protein - 35-40% of my total calories per day
Fats - 20-25% of my total calories per day
Carbs - just under 40% of my total calories per day

*This is fairly easy for me to maintain. Sparking also makes it easy to see what my daily percentages are at any given time. At this time, I've managed to lose seventeen pounds and feel great. Works for me and I always say a person has to find what works for them.

What I've learned in this experience is that this is a learning process. I went to my grand daughters birthday party and, while I would have liked to "be perfect" I did have a few bites of foods that are definitely not on my program. But it was only a few bites, and next time I will take my own food, and bottles of water. The plan will continue on!

Well, I did stick to the plan pretty well. What's important is, I'm not hungry, and I feel great. To me, this is so sustainable. I will cut back on the protein bars, though. They have low net carbs, but I'm getting hooked on them, but not as bad as carb treats that make me constantly want more!

I have been on Spark People for five months and I have only lost 11 pounds. That's a little too low for me. I'm trying different approaches and I have found that low carb works better for me.
I've been doing low carb for a few weeks, but I just found out that I have not been doing it correctly. So after more reading, I have "tweaked" my nutrition plan to include the right amount of nutrients, and to start burning fat as well, I have formulated the following plan, which because of it's simplicity, I believe will work best for me.

3 MEALS PER DAY;
4 ounces of lean protein
1 cup of low carb vegetables
and
2 SNACKS PER DAY;
1 protein shake or
1 protein bar

Of course 8-10 glasses of water daily

Let's see how this works!
