Thank ya'll for the support. That's what I need right now. I have that app c25k but I haven't started using it but I am. I have been walking more this week. I'm feeling good this week about this road I'm on. I did go walking today at a park and I thought I would try to jog to see how far I could get and I don't know what happen but somehow I hurt my back, it;s nothing bad I finished my walk I walked 44 minutes and 2.50 miles. It's weird I can move been but sometimes a certain way I can move hurts, or a pain will shoot through it, it goes all around my middle. Maybe it will be better in the morning. I will not give up tomorrow is my weigh in day so I will see how I did. Fingers crossed I will have lost some. emoticon emoticon

Try to think of the diet soda as poison...cuz it is. aspartame is really bad stuff.

Wow, 4 miles in 60 minutes is a great walking pace! Good for you, Punkin. I'm so proud of you for keeping at it. It sounds like you've had more downs than ups but you're sticking with it and THAT is what's important here.

My husband just started working out again and he got so frustrated when he started gaining weight the first few weeks. He couldn't understand why he was gaining so much. I told him it was because he was gaining muscle. Muscle is easier to build than it is to lose fat, but building that muscle is important ot launch your metabolism.

The bloating issue is interesting. Keep track of your sodium intake, particularly your soda consumption. Hopefully you've cut that out completely by now, but if now maybe you're body needs a further reduction as it tries to regulate itself. I used to be addicted to soda; cutting it out of my diet was the best thing I ever did for myself. I lost 10lbs in 2 weeks just from cutting it out. Every once and awhile I'll treat myself to one, but I always feel aweful-bloated, sluggish, and jittery-afterwards. Not to mention, drinking it usually triggers the uprise of other bad eating habits I've worked so hard to stamp out.

How's your 5k training going? Are you using a special app to help you train? I used c25K. The program really helped me establish a foundation, love and passion for working out.

Good luck! emoticon emoticon

Did some walking today. About 4.80 miles almost for 60 minutes. Felt good afterwards.

I did pretty good on eating today. Trying to find what works for me as in what to eat and exercise.

Trying to eat more yogurt trying to find out what is making me feel so bloated especially around 1:30 or 2:00 in the afternoon, I feel miserable when this happens. I thought at 1st it was the stuff I put in my water, those water enhancer . I didn't use them today and it still done it. My belly is already big I don't need it getting or feeling any bigger than it already is.
I guess I'm done for the night, good night SPARKPEOPLE. Until later!!!'

Today while at the grocery store, I was looking at the vitamins when this lady came up to me and she seen what I had in my buggy, string cheese, greek yogurt, turkey and biscuits etc. She got to talking to me about eating healthier and losing weight. We talked for a while exchanging ideas about being healthier. We exchange numbers. We might meet up to go walking or exercise at the civic center. You never know who you meet on your getting healthy journey.

This give me hope that I might can help someone who might need advice, ideas or just need support. Now I am more than ready to get on with this new life of mine.

I just had my embarrassing moment of being fat. Went to the high school for a meeting with the cheerleading coach and the parents was sitting in the desk and I can tell you they are not for fat people at all. If I wasn't in there with a room full of men and women I would have cried.

I know that I fat but when something like that happens it makes you more aware of it. Now I'm going to have to step up my game and lose the weight more than ever, I couldn't even pay attention to what all they was saying cause i felt like all eyes was on me, the fat girl sitting in the desk can't move while my leg is going to sleep, I didn't want to draw more attention to myself than I all ready had.
I can't get that out of my head. well until the next....later!!!

I'm fixing to go workout, going to a church to do P90X and going to try to get some walking in before. I did a little when I walked our dog this afternoon.

Starting this week at 233 yes that is a gain. Ugh emoticon but its not going to get me down. I'm up and ready to take control of my life. Today is the day I take back my control!!!! emoticon

I have only drank 2 diet cokes today. Pretty good for me. It will get better.

This week goals are...
1. to exercise no less than 4 days (4 to 5 days this week). No less than 30 minutes a day.

2. to get 7 to 8 hours a sleep a night. Something I don't get.

3. cut back on cokes and diet cokes. Usually I drank 5 to 6 a day. cut them out altogether.
They are the small steps I'm taken this week. BABY STEPS IN TAKING BACK MY CONTROL OVER MY HEALTH!!!!

went to park and walked 2 miles for 41 minutes yesterday. Felt good to get outside and walk.
I love walking outside when it's pretty outside, after being cooped up in a house because of cold weather it felt so good. Going to do some walking today and tomorrow I'm going to go to an exercise class at a local church and do insanity.

I weighed in this morning and I have gain back the 2 lbs that I lost while I was sick UGH STORY OF MY LIFE!!!! I want to rewrite my story.

I have been sick since yesterday, I think it was a virus and I believe it has run it course. On the good side is I lost a little bit of weight. Enough it was from being sick I will take it.

I haven't ate much in the pass two days from this. I got to go back to work tomorrow. I'm hoping I will be up to going to exercise with my friend Thursday night.

Hi Punkin--So happy to run across your post. It's because I'm in the same boat with you. I'm 5'2" 240 pounds (highest weight ever for me) and feel miserable. I run short on breath on doing just about anything now and growing out of my Size 18W-20W clothes. I can't afford to buy new clothes so I'm squeezing into the ones I have and feel uncomfortable all day at work till I can get home and put on my sweats and breathe!!!
I've decided enough is enough already. Why am I torturing myself with this weight? I know what needs to be done it's just so hard to DO IT!
I need a partner who understands the ups and downs with emotional eating, feeling FAT and wanting to do something about it.I hope with your help and those who post here we CAN GET IT DONE!
Best of luck to you and keep up the effort.

Today I have started to wean myself off cokes and diet cokes of any kind. I know I may mess up and drink one from time to time but that will be ok because I know I can get right back on track.
I'm also going to exercise more that I have been. Like walking, going to an exercise class 2 nights a week plus doing some exercise DVDs I have so I can mix it up. I'm going try to get about 30 minutes to one hour of exercise.

I'm going to watch my portion size.
Going to keep a journal well actually I have mad a health and fitness binder.

Going to reward my self but not with food and oh yeah going to allow one cheat day.
I have got this with God I know I do!!!

Hello Punkin

I made it into the community journals because I am trying to be more consistent with my exercise and control of my eating.
I'm smaller now but I used to weigh 312 pounds...though I think I am taller than you are. I am 5 feet 7
I just want to say that you can do this!! You just need to be consistent and not give up on it. Its odd because there were days when I was losing weight that I went to a restaurant and ate alot...but then the next day or meal I was back on track and didn't beat myself up.
I just try to improve a little each day. Don't try to change like 100 things at once. Try for maybe 2 or 3 at a time.
This site is a wonderful tool. I love reading the articles...they give me so many ideas and lots of motivation.

Punkin, I'm not posting to say something cliche' or give you advice that you've already given yourself. I'm here to say thanks for being so very real, so tangible, and so transparent. Today, I do not feel the way you do, but that's today. I've had countless days like you're expressing- as it seems you have too. I can say this... YOU ARE WORTH YOUR OWN BEST EFFORT. Results are often not ours to dictate, as I believe they're God's. But we are ENTIRELY in charge of our effort and can COMPLETELY DICTATE what we put into something. There's so much in this world that we can't control, even so much about ourselves and our own lives that we can't control. But I can COMPLETELY control my 'TRY'. I'm responding to this because I wanted you to know that your post encouraged me. You expressed a sentiment of defeat, but stated that you are NOT defeated... you're going to wake up and try again tomorrow. GO YOU! No cliche' statements. No fluff. No advice you've already given yourself or already heard. Just a word of thanks and another of word of praise. Good job for giving yourself your own best effort and keeping after your 'try'. I pray that when I next have a day like that, I will revisit your post. Thank you, again. May tomorrow be the day that you're trying for! emoticon emoticon

Have you ever had those days when you look at your self and you say no way I can lose all this weight and you can't see yourself anyway but how you are (fat). Well today is one of those days. I just keep getting bigger and bigger. I have gain 3 lbs here in the past couple of weeks. I feel bigger than ever. Like there's no way I can do this it seems hopeless.
. I'm not giving up. just one of those days where willpower, motivation and energy has flew out the window and all I want to do it bury myself under a bunch of oreos and drown in some diet mt dew. UGH!!!

Seems like all around me people are losing weight and getting in shape while I'm doing the opposite. Maybe tomorrow will be better and I will be in a better mindset. emoticon

Lovinglife thanks for wanting to be friends.

It's been a while since I have been here. I started on Monday 02/17/2014 trying to do better on eating better, and exercising. I'm getting ready to be in my 1st 5K in June of this year. I'm kinda nervous and excited about this. I'm on here to look up how to train for a 5K. I'm so out of shape, this might take a while, but I'm in it for the long run.

I have been going to a fit club on Monday and Thursday. i really enjoyed that. I haven't lost any weight since my last time i logged on here.

wish me luck on all this.

Punkin I have been there. After the birth of my son in 2009, I weighed 262 lbs and I'm only 5'1.
Through diet and exercise I was able to lose 90 lbs in 7 months. I kept it off for nearly three years before my weight went back up to 203 by December 2013. Since then I have lost 17 lbs. so it is doable. If you need a friend I am here!

Always a lesson, never a mistake.

Punkin - take a deep breath, relax, and make a plan. Figure out what you're going to eat tomorrow, and what/when you're going to exercise. Plan for snacks. Having the plan will make it a little easier tomorrow. You CAN do this.

I'm at my biggest weight yet 232 I weigh this morning. How did I do that? I did it by eating unhealthy and not exercising, being lazy. I only have me to blame, nobody held me down and told me not to exercise and no one held a little debbies cake to my mouth and told me to eat.
I have alot of support around me but I feel like the more I talk about losing weight, my family and friends are believing me less and less about the subjuct. I'm going to shut up and just do it. .
Today I was at work and notice when i walked up stairs I was like who is that person behind me doing all that huffing and puffing and then I was Oh wait that was me. I can't even walk up steps without getting out of breathe. That is why I'm here on spark people. I will do it this time.

Annientx that's a good idea. I think I will do that instead of looking at the whole 100 lbs. Thank s o much for that idea.

I forgot to put that I walked on my treadmill on Jan 18.. 45 minutes 2 miles. Going to try and use my watp video later.

There's no way I could have faced another diet dilemma and been successful if I felt I had to lose all 100 lbs at once. My ongoing goal is to lose 10 lbs at a time then give myself a reward while I continue on to the next 10. Look at how easy that is to say... "I need to lose 10 lbs" instead of "I have to lose 100 lbs". So whoever wants is invited to join me in my 10 goals to the end. I've succeeded with my first 10 lbs... I'd love some ideas on how to reward myself without going for an Ultimate Cheeseburger... This week I'm scheduling a pedicure to celebrate my first 10 lb goal being achieved... :-)

Thank ya'll. Yeah I guess I do need to set goals.
My weight to start with is 231 weighed today. Didi pretty good on eating today. I have lots of room to improve on my eating. I will get better. Rome wasn't built in a day and it won't come off in a day.

One thing that I got to work on is getting 8 hours of sleep at night which I don't maybe 5-6 hours. That might be one reason I'm tired all the time., so tonight I will start getting a good night sleep.

I'm going to post later my goals that I want to reach.

Punkin - There's no better day than today. I applaud you putting it all out there. I agree with Sandy that setting small goals will make this feel more manageable.

Put the work in - you won't regret it!

Just a suggestion if you set some smaller weight loss goals first and work towards them it will make your weight loss journey easier. Maybe focus on losing ten pounds lose that and reward yourself with something like maybe eyeshadow or lipstick something to make you feel better about you and do that with every 10 pound loss. emoticon

I'm 5'5" and right at 250, so we probably have a shape that is very similar. I'm ready to get going too and change this situation. Losing this much weight can be daunting, but know you're not alone ~ lots of us understand and are in the same boat. Good luck!

I started today trying to do better at this weight loss. I did forget to weight in this morning so I will in the morning. I'm going to try to eat better, watch my portions and exercise. Going to start walking on my treadmill, I also have some videos I'm going to use.

I hate being this way, get out of breathe easy, can't run, always out of energy, always embarrassed of sitting in a seat afraid I won't fit, not riding rides at an amuzement park cause I'm afraid I can't fit, having to buy t-shirts in the men section because they are bigger, tired of sitting on the side lines while everyone else is out there having fun. I don't won't to be an embarrassment to my daughter she is a teenager now and lots of her friends mom are little. I'm tired of pulling and tugging at my shirts to get them to fit bigger, and the biggest thing I'm tired of is always saying I'm going to start to lose weight or I need to lose weight and I never do. Tired of all the excuses I'm making about losing weight.

I'm 5'2' give or take and every pound shows. I don't like what I look like when I look in the mirror or in pictures or on video. The spare tire around the middle, the double chins, a belly that hangs over or down, my big but and hips, it's not a pretty picture.

I want to start fixing myself up, hair, maybe start wearing makeup which I don't wear. I want to buy me some new clothes All I wear is t-shirts, shorts, stretch pants mostly black ones and jogging pants, the jeans I do wear are the ones from walmart in the just her size the plus section, which are comfortable.

All this has been really bothering me the past few weeks and now is the time I change it all. Going to post daily, report into spark people on how things are going.
