I just blogged about my 21 days doing the whole 30. Although the point of this is to see what foods are reacting negatively in my life.. I am thrilled with the weight loss so far. i've lost a total of 12 pounds and quite a few inches on my body.. I feel slimmer, more energetic , clear calm thinking, I've been sleeping better. I wake up easily in the morning.. although 5 am is still tough.. but at least I feel rested.

So I see now my weight loss has slowed to 1-2 pounds a week.. I was nervous the first week or two being so quickly. For me this is a dream come through. I'm very optimistic that I can continue this course of action.

Pretty soon I will be adding in the foods I have stopped eating, and can then monitor how I feel. I probably will continue these way of eating and add in to the meals a controlled amount of carbohydrates.. weighed and measured. And will continue to avoid the junk food.. I don't want to go down that route again.. It hasn't been very good for me all these years.

so have a great day everyone..

Just do it , keep it in your mind this isn't going to be perfection but a goal to live a clean heatlhy life. As long as you can hit the mark most days you will be successfulI in the long run.

I've blogged about my experience doing this cleanse for the past 14 days. It is what I needed.
Day 15 I'm finally over the half way point. As of this morning I'm down 11 pounds! 181 from my starting weight of 192.

I lost overall about 4 inches all over my body.. I feel great. Energetic ,clear minded, knees and hips feel good..

Just do it , keep it in your mind this isn't going to be perfection but a goal to live a clean heatlhy life. As long as you can hit the mark most days you will be successfulI in the long run.

It has been a little while since I've been here. I have good news. I've lost 7 pounds.
I read "it starts with food" and begun the cleans process a week ago. I know most of this is water loss.. but I do feel so much better, less bloated , no cravings… and I can go for 5-6 hours with out thinking about food.

After 30 days.. I will slowly introduce those "foods" that can be addictive high calories and see how I feel.. but the goal here is to enjoy these foods in a limited amount while eating the healthy stuff most of the time.. but it took me going cold turkey to realize how certain foods affect you. so on to week two.. I am confident I will do this. finally!

Just do it , keep it in your mind this isn't going to be perfection but a goal to live a clean heatlhy life. As long as you can hit the mark most days you will be successfulI in the long run.

Hi Mjefferson23, thankyou for your helping me stay positive! So true.

Well Friday night I went to the gym as well… I did 2.2 miles in 35 minutes doing a jog/walk.
then did some strength on the machines.

This will be 5 days in a row going to the gym. I am taking saturday and sunday off to rest my knees.. apparently ZUMBA was not what my knees like… to much jumping and pivoting. I need to go buy new shoes "studio sneakers" so that we don't stick to the wooden floor.. so not sure if right know I want to do that.. personally not really overly excited about this class.. I've done Zumba before and liked it more. It depends on the instructor and ddwhat they put into the class. Well see , but will find a different aerobic class for now.. I don't think rumba is for me.. it causes to much pain. :-(

Just do it , keep it in your mind this isn't going to be perfection but a goal to live a clean heatlhy life. As long as you can hit the mark most days you will be successfulI in the long run.

Keep up the good work. You will make it. There are always starts and stops along the way, and sometimes our bodies don't cooperate, but I'm sure you will hit the big goal!

The only "diet" that works is consistency!

Well.. I'm back I guess thats progress. I went to the gym and took a yoga class for 60 min.
It was wonderful! I'm thinking I'm going to schedule this particular class weekly! I will try really hard not to miss it. It was a struggle tonight, since I have done nothing in several weeks.. This was a perfect beginning.

I had to print out this article on sparks. What 100 calories looks like for different foods!
Pictures of food on 8 inch plate. and listed below the pictures are the actual measurements or count. Fabulous!

I've only been posting my food.. haven't hit the gym yet. My dad has not been doing great so helping him out. Hopefully I will get back in time today to hit the gym.. I am bringing my cloths to change into. emoticon

thank you . I 'm not sure this week I feel very inspirational.. but will start up again this week.
Between snow storms and my dad hurting his back, my goals got shoved in the back ground. AS Usual! But I'll get back to it. this week. Lets help each other, good idea to sleep in your work out clothes… hmmm might give that a try. Going first thing in the AM might be the thing I need to do.. will check back in later this week.. to update.

Congrats Firebug! For keeping it up! you are now my inspiration! I have to lose 30 pounds by my daughter's wedding at the end of August. I will be reading and working out with you. I read here that you can sleep in your workout clothes and then it isn't so hard to get out of bed. I'm gonna give that one a shot.
Keep it up!!! And thanks!!

I'm not anywhere near hitting my goals, but I am recommitting and have been back to the gym.
I found a program to work out that I am gonna give it a go.

day1 triceps and chest / aerobics/ abs
day2 biceps and back /aerobics / abs
day 3 shoulders and legs/ aerobics/ abs

I did it today for the first time.. 4-5 sets with 8-12 reps per set for each exercise..
OMG… I'm feeling it already.. Only doing a total of 6 exercises not including my aerobics..
so more concentrated on two muscle groups.. I'm amazed...

my goal for feb 1st was to have lost 5 pounds.. with the start of this I was at 191 and weight 187.4 for a 3.6 loss.. I'm ok with that. I only really got going the last two weeks of january.. I'll make up for it in february.

Next goal is to be down a total of 10 pounds I'm looking at 180-181 so 6.4 pounds by march 1st.

I went to the gym early today, and worked out hard. actually got nauseous while doing my strength work out.. So stopped and did some abs and stretching.. At this point I had been about 60 minutes into my workout.

I actualy jogged a full 15 minutes continuous on the Tread mill with 5 minutes walking before and after. That was an accomplishment for me. My legs are finally feeling like they can do it and not hurt like they were.

I feel so darn good when I work out. For the month of February I will work out somehow someway every day! Be it the gym or at home or a class. Got to take it with stride there will be days I can't do as much because of whats going on . But I feel like my thinking is heading in the right direction. This is also happening with the food part.. I am posting everything this past week.. I've cut back on how much and what I eat at night which is my tough time. It does get easier.. but still a struggle at times.

So over all very good February 1st check in … Looking forward to what march 1st will bring for results.. I want to avoid weighting till then( I probably will not lol)

Just do it , keep it in your mind this isn't going to be perfection but a goal to live a clean heatlhy life. As long as you can hit the mark most days you will be successfulI in the long run.

ok day 4 is here! I have a couple of days before feb 1st weigh in. I hope I hit my goal of 5 pounds. I was up a pound this morning.. I will have till march 1st to get those gone.. along with the next goal of 5 pounds.. Can get to crazy about this.

I went to the gym this morning before work. walked 1 mile in 20 minutes and continued with my strength training plan.. focused on lower body today since I did not have much time to work out.. a total of 45 minutes Its all good.. I feel good and can feel my muscles getting stronger.

I have not had supper yet.. I needed to see what I had left for calories.. about 500 calories.. so will need to plan tonight .. Just got to stick to it… no excuses…

and by the way.. I did go to the kitchen and found something to munch on.. raspberries.. they were yummy , healthy , and low cal!

I'm struggling right now… but am staying the course. Its time for me to pack my lunch bag for work tomorrow. MY gym bag, and put out my clothes. I am not giving in to this "urge" to just want to eat!

Today I did well.. I am in my calorie range. I did walk today , a couple of hours at costco.. but put it in as activity 20 minutes.. here on sparks.. it is activity.. just not aerobic. i drank my water.. and seriously did good when I went out to eat with DH… at wendy's got a 1/2 salad and bottled water… did not take even 1 of my Husbands fries.. so good!

This is difficult.. but it seems to get easier..I guess its a muscle you have to work out. The determination not to undo what i've been working for!

Carol you can do it.. just one day at a time! It has taken me a while to just get going myself!

Well I did really well today. My calories were in the 1700's but I went to the gym. Not that I use that as an excuse to eat. But I am a big believer in not depriving myself. Because history has shown ME I can't handle it. Once I deprive I then totally go off on the deep end. So having said that… what did I splurge on? well instead of 1 cup I had 1.5 cups of tortellinies. which added calories.. And.. had smart food popcorn 1 0z Just those two items pushed me over my limit.

I call it success BECAUSE I didn't have ice cream or cookies NO junk food today… NO sugar in my two cups of coffee today. I went to the gym for 1 hour.. and it felt great!
AND I stopped my snack at 7:30 pm I'm done eating for the night..

I must remember this is my tough time.. I believe it will get easier and better. I have noticed that just having two days of eating balanced healthy meals I don't crave the junk so much. It takes an effort to plan and pack my lunch.. if I didn't I would head to the cafe and get not so good food…

So time to say goodnight..

Just do it , keep it in your mind this isn't going to be perfection but a goal to live a clean heatlhy life. As long as you can hit the mark most days you will be successfulI in the long run.

day2: The plan is NO SUGAR again.. Bringing my lunch, going to the gym after work.

Yesterday was a win for me..

I stayed with in my calorie range
I went to the gym and did 1.52 miles walk/jog 25 minutes
After supper had 2 cups of smart popcorn.. I just needed something..calories were ok..and I had room for it.

Totally keeping my goal of 5 pounds gone by feb 1st.. so far 3 pounds gone.. only 2 more!

I am removing all obvious sugar from my diet. None in my coffee starting today.. Back to the gym. I may have to push myself on that one.

Posting all my food..

I must admit the weekend was a disaster for me… but I'm recommitting today! How many times will this take? Anyhow.. I'm concentrating on just today! My calorie count 1200-1500 and exercise… then I will do it all again tomorrow!

I packed a healthy lunch bag of food.. No cafe or cafeteria ! Waste of money and to easy to get side tracked. Habits just kick back in..

Hi there! I choose to stick with it! No matter what. I am still having issues at night, over eating. But it is better than it was.

I went to the gym twice this week. My goal was to go 3 but one of the days I took a 1 mile brisk walk. What is remarkable for me is the fact I went first thing in the morning before work. I love it.. Once i'm on the road , I love it … NOT as I'm waking up at 5 am and have to pry myself out of the warm bed. But having my gym stuff ready to through on, and my clothes for work in my gym bag, my lunch is packed. I have NO excuse not to go.

I know this is probably a no brainer to a lot of you.. but for me the 'planning " ahead is my down fall.. So when I do it and it works.. and it makes it so easy. WHY don't I do it? Now I am making that extra effort the night before! So it is a new "habit" in my life. Will keep working on it.

Hope everyone is doing well.. I am waiting to head into work in an hour or so . It is snowing like crazy, and the roads are slippery. emoticon

Just do it , keep it in your mind this isn't going to be perfection but a goal to live a clean heatlhy life. As long as you can hit the mark most days you will be successfulI in the long run.

Today is all about new beginnings.. I took a 1 mile walk 19 minutes.
I am drinking my water.
I plan on getting to bed early.

I tried a recipe from sparks.. beef and broc stir fry.. very yummy!

I also came across a south beach diet snack, put two slices cheese then 2 slices of turkey and apples sliced thinly and apple butter … roll it up for a low cal quick snack to help with afternoon cravings. I believe it is only about 170 calories for 1 roll up.

I'm looking for easy quick low cal to do and prepare for work.

I reviewed my goals and motivation today. I've lost .2 this week. Not much lost but at least I did not gain. So that is the positive

Having said that. I renewed effort on my part. I want to see that weight come off.. So many starts and stops. Its all the emotional eating and letting "everyone and everything" affect me inwardly. Why I don't know but I need to cut it out! I see it happening, but something takes over. The need for comfort is stronger than the need to be slim I guess.

So hopefully being aware of this will help me in the next round " of craziness" …

Day 1 towards a fabulous , slim , healthy body!!!

Just do it , keep it in your mind this isn't going to be perfection but a goal to live a clean heatlhy life. As long as you can hit the mark most days you will be successfulI in the long run.

I didn't have the best night last night.. Today is a new day. Back to posting food and exercising. I need to plan better.

Grocery shop today.. take a 1 mile walk.. its beautiful outside.
This week.. to the gym before work and see how that works out.
Again its all in the planning.. got to have the food here to eat well!
Also must pack my gym bag to be ready to just head out in the morning.

It all makes sense.. so why I don't do it ??? but will go right now and get it done!

So I've missed a bunch of days… but i've been doing good..
I have curtailed the evening eating and I am seeing improvements.
I am sleeping better, I've actually lost a few inches all around my body .
An Inch off my tummy , my waist, and thigh. Now who knows it might just be my measuring technique.. but I do feel a bit slimmer physically.

I also lost a couple of pounds 191 to 188.8 (2.2) Its a start! emoticon

I have only got to the gym a couple of times. So that needs to change pronto.
I went to my gym website and signed in , there I can see my check in history.

from nov1st 2013 till today I have checked on 6 times… NOT GOOD…
So starting this week, I will make a goal of 3 times a week..

Looking forward to a fun relaxing weekend..

Not gaining is a Huge success! At least maintaining keeps you in a holding pattern so you can continue on to letting go of the weight. I really like your view point Jibbie and I see you have been very successful! Its hard but once we put our minds to it we can do it!!! As I type this I hear my tummy grumbling.. lol I seriously haven't heard that or felt that in a long time. Because I was over eating!! So now it is good , I need to get balanced again stop over eating and moving more!!!!

Thank you for your kind words, You are so supportive!
Yup its darn cold up here too.. It has been 1 to 5 degrees the last few days!! with a -10 to -25 wind chill… so poor oreo (my cat) goes out to do her business and I wait by door because I know she will be looking in the window of the deck to be let it.. Its WAY to cold out there..

boy for florida that is very cold for you guys. Hope you didn't have any special plants out there to get frost bite! Stay warm !!

It is upsetting to read so many blogs of people who didn't lose anything last year, but think that that is a failure. Actually, not gaining is a HUGE success as most people keep adding at least five or ten pounds per year. So, do work on dropping five pounds at a time, and before you know it, you will be seeing lots of improvement. emoticon Hope you are staying warm. It is about 30 degrees here in Pensacola, Florida today which is horrible. My poor cats when outside this morning to find their water bowl was frozen, so I brought them back in and gave them some warm water to drink. emoticon

So Glad I made myself go to the gym.. There were sooooo many people there .. new years resolutions have all started..

I just got on my tread mill and did my thing 30 minutes of walk/jogging. Got my heart rate up to about 145
I then did strength training for about 40 minutes.. I'm pleasantly sore and tired.
Working with dumbbells… 10 pounds.. doing multi type exercises.. lunges with bicep curls
squats with weights over head. chest press on bench and side and head crushers.

some machines for calfs, inner and outer thigh , and then abs and stretching.
The key is to keep going.. so this is must my way of reminding myself.. DO IT!
On track with food for today.. We plan to go see the hobbit tonight..
Already thinking about what to munch on.. Water and bring my own popped popcorn..that way I know how much and I can control the calories.. I let DH get all the goodies he wants..

Rosieloo!!! exactly!!! Well said. I find that as soon as I start doing a "diet" it makes me feel deprived.. and god help me if I have a day that messes me up.. In terms of when I can eat and what I can eat. I feel like I've failed.. but now Nothing is off limits, But I will be careful of the quantity , and of course look at what I am eating and making better choices.

I hit my all time high two days ago! 191 and after doing what I am doing I'm back down to 189.
So I feel good that it seems to be heading in the right direction! My calorie in take to day is on track. I haven't done any exercising the last two days.. But today I spent 2 full hours of snow blowing the drive way and cleaning off cars. we have a long drive way, of 10 to 12 inches of snow. So I consider that activity!

So far another good day.. although the evening is not over yet.. I foresee going to bed early again.. and reading. Or start drinking tea. That may satisfy me. Now that i've had two days of no snacking..

I want to live a normal life too… thank you rosieloo for stopping by hope You continue to share.. hopefully we can inspire each other!

We can do this. I'm in the same boat. Expert dieter but once I stop It comes back. I've done this cycle many times in my life. This year I decided to stop dieting and by aware or "mindful" of what I eat and how much I eat. No diet just healthy choices. No more constantly pushing myself physically but move everyday. 30 min daily workouts give me the same amount of energy as 90min workouts. Difference is that 30 min workout can be done and live a normal life.

Calories jan1st: 1456
calories jan2nd: 1486

so just thinking out loud here...

I've done two whole days of mindful eating. I am purposely keeping myself busy to avoid the mindless munching I do after supper time. I know my daily food intake is good typically.. It always pretty much has been good. Its that crazy time from 6pm till midnight. I munch no matter how I eat during the day.

Also I am getting use to that "feeling" of not having a full tummy. Also I notice I get tired, earlier during the evening hours.. so in the past I would eat, now I just Have a nice cool glass of water and go to bed and read.. and crash earlier. No need to eat to get energy to stay awake..it just adds extra calories to my day. Plus apparently I must need my rest.

I know that wanting to eat is just HABIT… I can change this by becoming aware. This is just a distracted bored eating, which does NOTHING for my body other than load it down with FAT…Am I hungry? NO.. Nothing will deter me.. I am in control, I have the freedom to make decisions to make myself healthy. These are few of my daily changes..

I have drank 8 glasses of water
stayed under 1500 calories
I have cut out sugar and cream from my coffee!

Happy New Year! This is the year I will succeed! Hope everyone else feels hopeful and all their goals are met!

T

This is great elaine! We can help each other through it! I'm beginning today.
To be mindful, drink more water, and be more active.

Plan on posting food, to keep tabs on what and how much i'm eating.
Plan on going to the gym today after work.

Have a a great day!

jibbie I like how you think! Thank you!

I did go to the gym two days ago..I've been sore so I know I worked out well! I took it down a notch from what I was doing before I stopped going.. Going to take it easy.. till I get back in the groove.

We had a nice day celebrating christmas today.. Sorry to say I did not do anything spectacular in terms of weight lost but I did totally enjoy spending time with my family today!

Hope everyone had a lovely day!

I Seriously can't believe I've gain back most of the weight I lost. I'm really disgusted with myself. So Here I go again! This needs to be it, I need to make this my priority. Even when things get stressful I need to continue putting healthy food in my body and I need to exercise .
No more excuses..

So here is the deal! I will lose at least 50 pounds by September 2014! I have 8 months to do it,it will be plenty of time so I can do it at a slow rate. If it comes off faster I'm good with that! lol..

My goal is to eat well, everyday! If I have not so perfect food then I will do the 80-20% rule. I won't be looking to eat junk food or sweets.. but I feel if I deny myselves it can send me over the edge.. Exercise everyday… something anything! Most days it will be the gym/ doing a class… but if not at the very least take a walk , or do an online video routine!

Being mindful is the first step of this journey.. I may not post my food everyday, but I need to be mindful and realize what and how I feel when I eat. I can't be eating distracted by watching tv. Somehow it just feels like I ate nothing because I was not paying attention!

Also my feelings cause me to eat… when not hungry, when I'm bored, tired , mad, sad, lonely… so becoming mindful of all of that is key for me.

I wish it could be easier but it isn't. Seeing me gain a lot of the weight back, is a wake up call… Time to do it, stick to it… I'm determined. I've been here before, but just obviously didn't commit to the process.

So I have weighed and measured my self… time to get real. yes I did gain some inches as well… Monthly I will remeasure.. and will weigh in weekly.
Weight - 190.
Waist - 42
Hips - 47
Thigh - 26
Upper Arm - 13
tummy - 51
