Doing great so far! I haven't had any meats and I went shopping and bought all my "vegetarian friendly" foods. I feel ready to do this! Tonite is going to be rough because John and I are going to a steak house for a celebration dinner. Not sure how I'm going to handle this yet. Anyway, I've lost 2.7 lbs so far already! I hope this continues!

Well, wasn't able to start my vegetarian diet yesterday, but I will def be able to go shopping and start today. I did, however, decide that I'm going to do my own version. I'm a HUGE carnivore right now and I know that I wouldn't be able to completely stave off all meats for any real length of time, so for now I'm just going to ban the most dangerous meat of all (red meats) and just try my best to avoid the others but not beat myself up if circumstances beyond my control (like last night) cause me to eat meat. I will make myself 2 promises FOR NOW. 1. Avoiding the red meats and 2. That I will do my best to avoid all other meats as much as possible. This is just what I want to use as my starting point.

I've decided to start eating a vegetarian diet. I'm going to find a bunch of recipes that look good to me, go shopping tomorrow, and begin. I'm noticing that alot of the recipes contain cheese or eggs, however I'm just going to go by the recipes and consciously avoid all meats for now and see what happens.

I decided to do this because my cholesterol and triglycerides are both skyrocketed, I'm pre-diabetic, my weight is out of control the highest it's ever been, and I suffer from chronic swelling in my ankles and feet. I just feel all-around unhealthy and constantly tired etc. I'm hoping changing my eating habits to a vegetarian way of life along with atleast 3 days a week of exercise that it will help me start to lose weight and feel better.
