I was not aware there was a journal section of sparkpeople !
Here is my story, I would love to hear anyone elses stories and experiences. I am here to share and also love hearing other people's stories/journeys ! I know I have learned from my journey, I hope someone else can learn from it as well and I know there is so much to learn and a lot of the stuff I have learned has been from hearing other's journeys :) We all have so much to offer to both ourselves and others !
First I will introduce myself and tell you a little bit about where I started. My name is Gaibriella(Gabby) and I am a 20 year old mother of a beautiful 2 year old daughter. I have always been skinny(size 2-5) and when I was younger I used to run. I hit about 13 and decided to stop running and start sitting on a couch eating chips all day. I went up to a size 5 and felt horrible. I then decided to join army cadets, I loved it and got in great shape again, but I decided to quit. I went back to being a couch potato and a size 5, it bugged me, but it was something I felt I could live with and I was "blessed" with this great metabolism that kept me at a size 5. When I got pregnant at the young age of 17, everything changed, my whole body changed. I was gaining a lot of weight and I understood I had to because I was gaining for my daughter, but I gained more than I could have. My whole pregnancy I ate a lot of junk and I sat around, I took the bus to places I could have walked to and I gained 45 lbs. Looking back I regret those decisions I made. After I had my daughter, I never felt better about my life, but I never felt worse about my body. I hated looking at myself, I was 180 lbs and it was the heaviest I have ever been. I tried sparkpeople 3 different times, but I was too focused on losing the weight fast that I got discouraged. One day I just decided I was done with the excuses and joined sparkpeople again.
Then came the journey of finding a workout program that worked for me. I started with Amanda Russell workouts that I found online, but I didnt think those worked for me so I moved on to Jillian Michaels for a few days. I found that I liked her workouts, but they werent challenging enough for me(I have a very competitive nature). Then one of my friends told me she was selling her Insanity workout program by Beachbody. I looked it up and was immediately intrigued, so I bought it off of her. I started my first attempt at Insanity, I only made it a few days before deciding to do a 28 day challenge first. I went to cuba, came back and decided on my second attempt at insanity. I made it 19 days before having a 1 day slip up. I felt so low about slipping up on one day, that it turned into 2 days, which turned into more days. My 3rd attempt at insanity lasted about 3 days, and than I went to my dads and just got distracted from it for a few days.
Now I am on day 26 of my 4th attempt at insanity and I have never felt better about my body, my fitness and my accomplishments. I have also started to eat clean, healthy meals and have noticed a huge difference in my moods, my energy levels and my ability to perform exercise better. Now I know why healthy eating is so important. Yes, I have days where I give myself a treat. I also have days where I slip up, but I dont let those days dictate every other day anymore. This is a life long journey, and I am going to mess up, that doesnt mean I am a failure.
These workouts challenge me and I love it, even if I hate them sometimes. I have been keeping track of my progress. There is a fit test in the program that you do 4 times throughout the 63 days to keep track of your progress and I also take pictures, weigh myself and measure myself on these days. My last fit test/measurement day was on day 15. When I took the pictures I just couldnt believe the difference ! It was so amazing ! in just 15 days I had lost 6 lbs, 6 inches off my waist, 6 inches off of my chest, and 3 inches off my hips. I also made amazing improvements in my fit test/endurance and I felt great about that. These were my day 15 fit test results with the numbers in brackets being + or - what I did on day 1. It is how many you can do in a minute :)

I will continue to write how my journey goes every day, the good and the struggles I go through. I am on day 26, which is Pure cardio and cardio abs day. These days are the hardest for me, my asthma doesnt really like them but I get better with each time !
