walked and did headspace meditation. go back to it occasionally but not thinking of rejoining.

my hand-held weights go up to 7lbs [bought way back before we switched to metric but can't use it since shoulder op].use lower weight than usual in class if I've had physio treatment that day. also have ankle weights ranging from .5 to 2 kilos.

guess I could read books on Kindle too but am feeling cynical about it all at the moment.

today i read some free kindle books from amazon on mindfulness. would benefit more from practicing it. have to finish the other 2 books.
glad your day was pleasant. mine, too. walked an hour.
i have my daughter's 3 lb weights. that's 1.36 kilo. think i need 5 lb or 2.26 kilo.

physio pleased by improvement and tested me on strength. wants me to work on deepening squats, among other things.

cold but quite pleasant so short walk and exercise class.

used 1kg at class today but have heavier and lighter at home. What do you have?

i'm spending the time to read doidge's book. and the other, too.

bad your weather is so bad. good you were able to stay home. need a winter workout for you. walked to and through park with brother. pleasant.

found a standing one which is quite hard but getting easier and think it's helping to ease pain in one leg.

only use natural products..

don't know what to think of doidge. I believe positive thinking can make a difference but to how great an extent?? Norman Cousins wrote that he cured himself through laughing and I think there are groups who follow this idea.
there is a retired neuropsychologist in u3a class. asked her about meditation and subliminal messages - said profession accepted that meditation could make changes to the brain but not enough info on suibliminal.

even colder, especially with wind chill factor, so settled for staying home and concentrating on stretching, etc.

hope you find helpful exercise you can do. what's good for one part isn't good for another. frustrating.

glad you managed to walk.

pleasant warm day. had cherries by neighbor. people getting older and having medical problems.

somebody is using a detergent or chemical that bothers me.

I was looking at hip flexors, in particular psoas muscles, as they can affect the legs. some of the simpler ones are very similar to those recommended by my physio. more difficult ones done on floor OK to get down but can't put weight on shoulder to get up.

I bought something from thrive once when I was physically unable to get to health store here. arrived safely. they seem to have some interesting products but not practical for me to buy from overseas.

bitterly cold but managed to walk between showers.

slept well, thanks. felt good. such a difference!! hope you did, too.

i mean "time disabled" rather than overfull schedule. i have a real problem. you are obviously faster and more efficient than i am. i also have many doctors and things to do which i don't. and i need to rely on experts instead of learning it all myself. and i should hire a filing clerk.

would be great if you could reduce meds.

Fantastic news about jaw. You deserve a good result after being so patient. Did you take any extra vitamins/minerals to help bone to grow? No excuses now for not looking after gums.

I keep chopped fresh fruit in meal-size glass jars in fridge. hard fruit lasts longer. sliced apple will keep for over a week in a zip-lock bag in fridge.

there must be meditation classes in your area but they would add something else to do. I tend to forget if I'm walking and really like to lie on bed in second bedroom to meditate. it is also the best way I know to ease pain in shoulders.

don't be too hard on yourself. you do very well in the circumstances. obviously you are more time-challenged than I am because you are still working but I have a lot of medical appointments, with instructions on what I should do every day, then take on more commitments and then feel guilty when I can't keep them all. I'm just hoping that if I can reduce the medication I won't feel so tired all the time.

does your chopped fruit last all week?
surgeon says jaw has grown back completely. it actually looks denser than the other side.. must return in a year to check the cyst hasn't grown back.

got off stop early and walked extra from bus. carried heavy stuff. my pocket book weighs a ton. took two books and water, too. read a little. meditation/mindfulness is really in. why must i become my own expert? need to just go to someone. i'm a nut. i have enough t do for my job. i feel like i have multiple careers. hard for a time challenged/mismanaged person. too stressful. should have just looked at the trees along the highway. i didn't even see the water!!. nature is big these days, too. watching the people in the "big" city is interesting, too.

miss my dance class too. also no belly dancing today as half-term break.

I know what you mean. I quite like small Lebanese cucumbers as a snack. As you say, nuts are too high in calories.

TV health program I watch said dark chocolate good but limit it to two squares a day.

Decided not to brave the weather today. did a lot of catching up with documents and chopping up fruit to have with cereal and yoghourt during the week.

i miss my dance class. will do online video, but not the same.

i did two videos and was sure i'd be able to claim my dollar, but...

i'm working hard on a project and overeating before i know it. it's like i get distracted when i focus on something else. i must record my food. nuts and seeds are high in fat and calories. gum gives me gas. i need to chew. will have to try celery. the strings would last a while if i wouldn't swallow them unchewed, as i usually do :)

good. much better for me last night.

busy day good and bad:-

errand - got soaked.
doc - thrilled with blood pressure of 120/60 and steady pulse. hope it stays like that. ok for salicylic acid in cranberry juice and fruit as anticoagulant will protect me. said disadvantage was the natural sugars contain a lot of calories. there's always a catch!
physio said calves still very tight, as if I didn't know
meeting OK.
exercise class - tired by then but glad I went.

could but last time I got a sub spent so much time showing her what i wanted and where things were that it wasn't worth it. won't be too bad if I do a little each day. won't be able to move heavy furniture but have stick vacuum which is very light.

have one line undercover and one not outside. this time we misjudged the weather and hung sheets on wrong one. have electric dryer but it's mounted on the wall and I can't reach it now. no space in laundry to put it somewhere else but everything dries quite quickly on airing rack.

woke in the night and took quite a while to go back to sleep. frustrating. hope you had/are having a good night.

thanks. sufficient sleep is really important. something i missed out on for too long.

choose to feel accomplished by doing chores. consider them unpleasant exercise, too.you can't ignore the house for 4 weeks. can you get a sub?

yucky to have wet sheet for 3 days. what do you usually do in wet/cold season? i used to hang on lines in basement. actually dried faster when the heat was on. now i have an electric dryer.

pleasant day. ate mango by neighbor.

rainy and miserable again today. sheets have been out on the line for three days but there's no way I can get them off while they're wet.

did a few household chores - cleaner will not be coming for nearly four weeks as she's going on holiday - but feel I wasted the day.

thanks. didn't work today. went back to sleep. then did jillian online to lose some of the three pounds i gained overnight.
out of the house means not my own in home food.
i didn't even try to talk to the strangers this time. i am also usually able to talk.

sorry you're having such a bad night but don't understand "out of the house".

I also have a fair degree of FOMO and get annoyed with myself for wasting time. looked at the link. interesting but I wouldn't have the patience to do it.

you did well at the wedding but unfortunate that, for you, it was a social disaster. like you, I can usually talk to most people but remember the occasional times when I had to go to a function run by the company where my husband worked and all they wanted to talk about was themselves.

I didn't get Lynn's post until Wednesday evening, my time.

I hope you don't have to go in to work today and can catch up on some sleep,

msg 2. ate chicken, beef, quinoa, avocado, a few string beans, pineapple and 4 small sweets. drank water. my husband estimates we walked 4 miles. met 2 people i know, but they left even before the ceremony because things dragged on so. we left shortly after the first dance began. the music was literally deafening. i knew nobody except the parents of the bride and my husband. i found a book to read part of the time, else i would have been verrry bored. i did not eat out of boredom, a distinct possibility.

i enjoyed walk. but more social than real exercise , i fear. became aware of FOMO. why i must read, subscribe to, or watch everything available.

some good, some necessary.

yesterday - language class, belly dancing [fun but tiring] and st&b. four-week break from u3a and seems there will be no st&b next term. computer tech, who was visiting someone a couple of streets away, said he'd call in to sort out a problem for me. got delayed and arrived late so we finished at about 5+ hours. got to bed about 1.00.

today physiotherapist. his father had a pacemaker put in last week so was interested in my experiences. still tired but had to go to shopping centre, which at least meant plenty of walking.

good for you exercising but it really is a vicious circle: exercise - hunger - eat - need more exercise. ladybird says we're lucky to have her and turtle to guide us.

physio back - said must massage cream into calves to stop their tightening up so much.

you did well. don't people mind if you ask to take the dinner home?

not a good day. felt very woozy this morning so cancelled all classes.

frustrating - problem has come up on online banking a/c which can only be fixed by physically going to the bank. have cancelled film group and hope to feel up to it tomorrow. think problem is recurrence of virus I had years ago, which will always stay in my system. comes back at times but doesn't last so long and isn't so severe.

not completely OK but a lot better. had to escape from the 5 hours of drilling and banging [at times three people here] but new a/c is now installed.

glad you really did lose it. good luck with the dinner.

it broke down a few days later and was fixed. is functioning now but could break down again at any moment. having new system installed next week - two split level units, both hot and cold. more expensive than i'd hoped but, apart from equipment, boss, assistant and electrician will be here for a minimum of five hours. happy thought!

good and, as you organised it, i'm sure it was healthy food.

dentist - don't have to go back for three months.

I got the list too and the only thing which affected me was the loss of the media center as I like to play background music when I'm using the computer. I've now downloaded another program so I'm OK again.

thanks ladybird. we are being good, but all we manage to do is maintain my 140 pound plateau by losing what i gain at each social function before the next one comes around.

which features did you lose with 10? it told me the software that wouldn't work.

i wear glasses. you'll get used to it. i like drops less.

seem to have new partner who drives me to park some wednesdays. (she won't be available next week.) she's nice and bright, but walks too slowly. trees and flowers are good for my head. not sure how much a 1.5 mile stroll does for my body. keeps me away from fridge for 2 hrs.

frustrating and time-wasting.

ladybird says turtle is doing a good job.

discovering the features I used on windows 7 which are not on 10. will just have to find something similar and download.

mixed day. physio appointment cancelled at last minute but went to dentist. improvement in double vision - eye exercises are paying off - and in cornea but says if I want to check reading glasses to go to optometrist as they will change them if don't prove suitable. on the minus side may have to keep using special drops and wear driving glasses for rest of life.

I see your tracker says under 140. that's a lot better than before.

I'm back and you're the first to know. Computer got to the stage it wouldn't open at all. IT man said this evening it was such a mess that it would be better to download 10 while he was sorting out the other problems so now I've got 10 too. Hope I haven't lost anything.

marching on spot - probably. hips and knees OK with it

you're doing well with exercise. went to class yesterday. st&b cancelled but went to belly dancing today. can't register officially because class full but tutor said come anyway. hard workout, especially because I don't know the dances and the moves. was told it would take a year to know them.

sorry you didn't enjoy the long weekend. hope you did headspace. I've done it a couple of times recently, because it's short, and every so often they try to tempt me to subscribe again.

I've never had it but there is a lot of information on line.

Checked up on salicylic acid because I thought it might mean I shouldn't drink cranberry juice and discovered it is naturally present in many foods, to varying degrees, but high in veggies and fruit, particularly berries. i've been eating large amounts of freggies since I came off warfarin and, as far as I know, there's no problem. I'll still build up the amount gradually and query it with doc next visit.

weather not pleasant so will do strength exercises at home this afternoon.

making up bed for young lady. she's engaged to neighbor (friend's son). they will probably get me a ride to the wedding (in different nearby state), i think in july. want to celebrate with them, but not travel or eat, as usual.

pudding doesn't sound a very good idea if it's going to have so many side effects. I hope that is all and you are not getting sick.

forget to tell you. had 90 minutes to kill between Spanish and st&b on
Tuesday so tried out a belly dancing class.

i think pudding constipated me. i had a total of 4 servings in 3 days. i'm sneezing, but i think it's allergy to stuff growing. i hope constipation doesn't mean i'm getting sick. it's uncomfortable, either way. i also think puddings are diuretic.

doesn't sound suitable for me but still interested in your results.

cold and heavy rain but walked a lot at shopping centre.

air conditioning broke down again. technician fixed it - I didn't get charged for visit. said I definitely need to replace heating system but, as the present one is 33 years old [here when we came in], I have been lucky it lasted so long.

did i lose a post? forgot what i wrote.

tried another pudding. made only one portion and put a piece of coconut instead of coconut water. didn't work and didn't like it as much. have to make a new entry in my tracker. i think these things work better for people who are overeating junk. you are already eating very well. and i think it's water weight cuz there's no sodium. kinda like lynn's magic stop eating junk diet wouldn't do magic for you.you live on freggies.

sounds filling but, as you say, low in protein, veggies and nutrients. doesn't sound healthy for more than a few days. the next part of the diet might include more. i'll be very interested to hear how you go with it and what your results are. I certainly need something to help me to lose.

exercised mind and body today so deserve to listen to an audiobook for a while now.

beans, chia seeds, coconut milk, sweet fruit. maybe chocolate, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger honey. there are 3. i think i could do 2 a day. filling. short on protein, veggies and nutrients. hi in sat fat but from vegetarian.
i guess it wouldn't kill me for 4 days. i need more coconut milk. must explore. can i just eat a piece of coconut and put water in the recipe?

yes, windows is still free. what i like is that it's an upgrade and not a reinstall. i lost antivirus, but windows 10 has its own. i had to reinstall ccleaner. so far its working. they've had some time to fix i t up by now.

i couldn't find pudding ingredients online. had to wait for book. will look again.
have made up double batch of pudding (sort of). looks like desert, not a meal. hope i don't eat it till tomorrrow. i'm done for today.

Didn't have any today but might try again tomorrow.

checked out cynthia sass. interesting idea. I don't dislike ingredients of "pudding" but every day? I need to lose weight but think 8lbs in a week are too many. I'd be delighted with a steady loss of 2lb. like all the foods mentioned in the other book but think I would be extremely hungry. let me know if you decide to follow either of them.

haven't seen "lite" coconut oil - mine is 88 calories for a 10g serve.

good luck with windows 10. did you get it when it was free? people I know who've downloaded it have had varying results, some good and some bad.

another thing we have in common. i get my plaque dug out every 3 months. it's better when i do it myself more often.

yes, please be careful with juice.

rainy here. pleasant restful day. had only fruit and a little popcorn by neighbor. too much fruit all day though.

reading 2 of cynthia sass's diet books
www.cynthiasass.com/ hard to believe i'll lose 8 pounds in 4 days on 2000 calories of "pudding" per day. brother says the scientist in me wants to try it. i actually found "lite" coconut milk to use instead. 50 calories instead of the 256 my tracker gives me. that makes it 1400 calories, which for me means half a pounbd a week, maybe. other book is quite sensible after first 5 days of eating only 5 foods: spinache, raspberries, eggs, almonds and yogurt.

i upgraded to windows 10

actually it's turned cold here. a/c fixed, told I need to think about replacing it but should last me through the winter.

dentist - replaced filling and fluoride shot. says I build up plaque extremely quickly, which I already knew, so may need more frequents checkups than most people. have to go back in a fortnight to get rid of last of plaque then should have a break for two months.

cranberry juice very tart - will go carefully as at one time I was told I should not take aspro and it contains salicylic acid. on the plus side it is supposed to slow down the build up of plaque.
