thanks. can't think about outing.

sad your glasses don't help, but time may improve them. did for me a year or two ago. i still think they were made wrong, but i did get used to them.

yes, i know, so much effort for health isn't fun. but still worth it....

good you see someone improving. looking forward to good news and improvements from you,too.

thyroid doctor says iodine in the dye risks making my underfunctioning thyroid worse. cardiologist says no risk. he doesn't like when other docs do cardiology, but he doesn't hesitate to do endocrinology. i said i wanted second opinion. he said hard to find someone who fully appreciates this test. local big cardiologists don't. i'm still not convinced. i'd love to get definitive answer tomorrow. so would he. but i think maybe prudent to postpone and explore.

glad echocardiogram was good but understand how you feel about other issues. it's easy for medical staff to tell us what to do but not so easy for us to do it. you do need someone to keep it all together instead of your having to spend so much time on research and finding the right people. let me know what you decide about the geriatrician.

I sometimes feel that I'm spending my whole life having physiotherapy or going to doctors just to survive and getting only small snatches of enjoyment. I know there is no choice but to keep trying but, as you know far too well, it's hard.

went to collect glasses today. they had altered them by putting prism in one lens to counteract double sight. worse than ever, like looking through water. told me to persevere with them for a week or so. will try them every day but don't think I can keep them on for long periods. luckily still have previous reading glasses and can use computer without any.

spent three hours with neighbour who damaged shoulder. she's doing really well, has a much greater range of movement now and the pain is much less severe so she has been able to reduce her medication. she had a cortisone injection today so hope it works for her. it's good to see someone improving.

hope I haven't depressed you. concentrate on your outing - you deserve one.

yes, it was supposed to be treadmill. i hesitated a little because of my infected tube. he decided instead to send me for a computed tomography angiogram of my coronaries. instead of putting in a catheter, they just xray after injecting dye. i like neither dye nor xray. stress test is much less invasive. need to think!!!! need another opinion.

he wants me to do 20 min on bike at 120-135 pulse. and lose weight.

he also recommended a geriatrician that someone else recommended. i need a general doc to keep it all together instead of me. a good physical therapist wouldn't hurt.

my echocardiogram today was good.

all i do is look after myself and go to doctors.

true but it could be more difficult because of her age.

I've slipped back too. was eating by 9.30 for several days and must again. had been sleeping very badly and completely exhausted so gave in and took a sleeping pill. I hate doing it but slept for about five hours non-stop which was marvellous.

guy came to put new brackets on blinds, clean venetians, etc. then physio session.

you must look after yourself. is stress test physical, e.g. treadmill?

glad you were able to walk. sorry you missed scrabble, but better not to get sick.

you managed and so will your friend, but it's not fun.

finished antibiotic. still goopy in tube. doc says wait because i'm not in real pain. increasing supplements...

did some hard work yesterday. neglected myself and stayed up too late. easy to fall back into old bad habits. new good ones don't stick. will take it easy today. stress test tomorrow.

unfortunately the germs are everywhere. organiser cancelled scrabble because she has a bad cold.

spoke to friend again today. in pain, frustrated and discovering difficulties of coping with use of only one hand. had been having tests because of shortness of breath and tiredness. doubt she'd be able to walk to my place, even when she feels a bit better. luckily she has very good neighbours and a lot of friends.

glad you could walk. I'm also too attractive to mossies, etc.

was able to go for walk after fog lifted.

tell your cells to not catch the cold.

hope your friend does well. is she within walking distance of you? she should find cause of falls and maybe have a companion. although that's no guarantee. my father's aide wasn't near him on last fall. was faster downhill from that day.

went walking slowly with partner. she's dealing with an issue, too. got bitten. must figure out why they like me so much. cortisone cream brings relief. how long can i use it? makes me feel good. makes me worry about my own adrenals

seems to be getting worse but too late to try and sort it tonight.

physio and exercise class. lady next to me had cold.

really worried about friend in nineties. until recently really healthy but breathing not too good lately has also had three falls in the last three-four months. in the last one today she broke her wrist. she will miss not being able to drive and I can't offer at the moment.

speed back to normal but if I leave it on for a while it switches off, when I switch on says I'm logged out and to use other user. when i do it allows me to log in. wonder what it will do tomorrow.

sounds good. don't see much of neighbours at weekend this weather. none of us out just to wander.

nice day. spoke to neighbors. staying outside means i'm not tempted by goodies. short walk. had to come in when mosquitoes bit me. they seem to like me better than rest of neighbors.

no to changing toothpaste and Swedish bitters, canker sores. will try cold milk and tea bags. didn't have zinc deficiency at last check up.

glad you enjoyed walk and company. had window cleaner in today so now can see the rain more clearly.

computer on "go slow" since started using it this time. need to see if any of the simple tricks will fix it.

have you changed toothpaste? lauryl sulfate or something implicated in canker sores. have you tried swedish bitters?
walk postponed to today. enjoyed. we walked slowly and sat too often. 2 hrs to do 3/4 hr walk. but it was good to be out and have company. haven't done either since monday.

thanks but really don't feel like making the effort re books.

dry this morning but had to stay home for cleaner. rain this afternoon resulting in no walk and sheets she had hung out getting soaked. am allowed a day off physio exercises as we had a pretty strenuous session yesterday.

hope you were able to walk. long time to wait for dance class,trust i'll get back some time.

hope surgeon is right - you don't have much choice not to accept since you've embarked on this treatment. ulcers up again today but don't intend to get involved with dentist unless I have to.

mine are quiet at the moment.
usual problem-= more fluid, more swelling.
sorry about cough but at least you know why.

understand re books - have loads of old text books but probably completely out--of-date.

friend came over yesterday, was helping her with project. she was using second computer chair but when she leaned down to connect her laptop to my power board it ran away from here and she ended up flat on her back on the floor. said she felt all right and I got her to ring me when she got home to make sure she was OK.

physio today - couple of new exercises - one very difficult but says do what I can. had squeaky door so he sprayed it for me. says he's my handyman - in the past has put up blind which was blown down in gale, carried some heavy stuff into another room and it was through him I go rid of the mouse. all small things but difficult, if not impossible for me to do.

wonder if our bumps are a virus that traveled over the internet. i got 3 opinions from 3 docs.have a new one today. doesn't look like usual mosquito bites.

driving is very disappointing and frustrating and limiting :(

very hard to control weight with all the other issues, but... how about quarter glass of water when you think you are thirsty.

cough worse today. exposed to dust.
-- husband cleaned out fn, but dust all over kitchen.

--made the mistake of trying to sell a bunch of old (professional) books. very dusty cause they were on top of bookcase. nobody wants them (entered ISBN on the web). is it worth to drag them to work to keep there? and then what? i won't work forever. then i'll have the time to read them and will have to drag them back home. will be even more obsolete by then.

ms.2 could book driver to take me to class but would have to pay mileage and time s/he waited while I was in class. would also not be able to stay and chat with others when I felt like it, which is part of the enjoyment of participating.

glad you were feeling better and enjoyed the botanic garden.

doc. - thinks bumps are insect bites because they are in clusters and only on certain parts of body.says ulcers may be due to irritation from tooth which is a bit wobbly but would need to have a dentist to confirm or not.

physio - too complicated re payment because partnership and have to see partner when he's not available. bitterly disappointed about driving, will give me some different exercises to try [add on] on Wednesday.

exercise class - bit painful in shoulder but enjoyed it. most of us know each other by now so it's a social outing as well as being good for physical health.

i would still ask him and not share discount with others, if he agrees. make it clear to him you know to be discreet.do you know how much your insurance pays him? is it less than his private fee? or do you pay in full and get reimbursed?
very disappointed you can't take class. have you tried brainbashers.com? i think you need to be out with people. i guess there's no hope for a lift or some organization car. i don't like you being so dependent on your driving.have to expect driving to be difficult first time, but not severe pain. ask physio. certainly hope it improves quickly. can you join class late?

hoping to go to botanic garden today. i called to cancel this morning, but i feel up to it now. tube has stayed fairly clear for hours and i slept another 3 hrs after only 3 hrs at night. hope they still want to go. i need them for both the ride and the company. they need me for the free admission (company membership) and i hope they enjoy the company.

yes, things will improve. we have no choice but to be patient.

do hope so. I also take a probiotic most days.

wouldn't ask. know two other people who are paying same amount so It would be difficult for him to give a discount just to one person.

don't expect there will be anything new in sleep challenge but will see.

feeling discouraged today. had thought I'd be able to go back to one of my classes when the new term starts on 20 july but no hope. drove car for first time after 12 months yesterday just round the block - severe pain in shoulder and great difficulty in turning it round corner. guess i'll have to give up the idea for this year. pity because I needed the incentive to make me use my mind again.

guess we both have to struggle on and believe things will improve soon.

annoying tissue fluff. hope it will brush off when dry.

slept well, but still tired. a little worrisome. still somewhat painful and pus in tube. i thought would be better by now. hope this is the right antibiotic. it's a strong one. taking probiotic, too.

you are worth the expense of the physio if he helps you. would you consider asking him for a reduction at this point. you're a good customer.

breathlessness and heart concern me!!! hope doc has something good to say.

sorry you had such a bad night and hope you sleep better tonight. the treatment sounds very unpleasant and is restricting what you eat so I hope you get some improvements soon. I know what you mean about expense - I seem to be forever paying medical bills and now i have exhausted the rebate allowance on my private health insurance for physio i'm having to pay the full price myself. i'll keep up treatment while I'm still in the period when there is the possibility of improvement in the shoulder.

see doc next week but think breathlessness is due to heart problem.

have joined the better sleep challenge but not gone into site yet.

washed two winter jackets and didn't realise there was a tissue in one of the pockets. they are both covered in bits of paper now:

glad you are sleeping. check out why tired!!!!

good you accomplished some payments.

hope you enjoyed book club in spite of unfortunate hospitalized members. hope they recover quickly.

couldn't sleep cause tube, etc. hurt. back to surgeon today. back on stronger antibiotic and antiseptic stuff to irrigate tube at least 3X per day. so much poison and time. also the additional money is adding up. i guess all worth it, if it works.

standing do lunges, up on toes, side kicks. and modified squats, plus shoulder exercises. need to walk but, apart from weather, breathing very bad.

not sleeping too badly but always tired.

did a lot of payments. now have what looks like pfishing message from private insurance co which i'll have to follow up tomorrow.

can you do calf raises? up on toes. seated leg extensions?
glad they're letting you get new lenses. hope they work!!!!
rain is really a damper. you can't walk out for exercise or socializing.
dance class is scheduled for monday.
today i did some financial stuff. will shred a bunch of paper. walked to bank and to buy a scarf.
got out one stain but faded the material a little. think i can still wear it informally.did one elastic.
more tired than i have a right to be. will rest rather than push.

hope you did.

slept better last night. thinking of checking out official sleep challenge at the weekend.

it's so confusing knowing what is the right thing to buy. went to chopping centre but short of time so couldn't buy much - did manage to get some freshly cooked chicken pieces. ran late because went to optometrist. I wasn't happy with reading glasses. had load of tests today and they said they could probably improve on double vision. was lucky - had run out of period for alterations without charge but, because of delay in getting another specialist appointment and need to book driver for visits said they would make new lenses for free.

difficult to find cardio the only one I can do is marching on the spot and I can only do five minutes at a time. at least when I go to shopping centre get to walk a lot.

thanks. hope we have dance class. only 8 women

irrigation itself is quite easy now. hardest part is getting to it, as always. pureeing my food is a nuisance and mess to clean up. luckily, i don't mind the taste.

lol re physio. you were busy enough! sorry you couldn't sleep. yes, you must eat earlier. so many things we must do.

not working. just taking care of me. today went to health food guy. bought half of supplements he suggested. he said i could introduce slowly. didn't remember everything, but too much for him to handle anyway. walked to and from buses. got off early and shopped a little on the way home.

need to give my wardrobe some attention. two stained items. some needed elastics, etc.should go on some to do list for our MC. speaking of which, i meant to ask you: are there no activities that you can do indoors this week?

glad you enjoyed dancing. it will get easier the more often you go to class.

it's time you looked after yourself after a long period of neglect due to health problems. Are you finding irrigation easier now?

.I slept very little last night so am exhausted. I need to get back on track again, including eating at a more reasonable time. The weather is atrocious again now but had to stay in in any case. car taken for service, etc., gardener came, spent a long time with neighbour with injured arm, friend 'phoned and another came yesterday. today car was returned [don't know when i'll drive it again but it's roadworthy now], friend called round twice, another friend 'phoned to discuss computer problem, came later but didn't bring her laptop so I couldn't see what she'd been doing and then podiatrist came. relieved that physiotherapist didn't make miraculous recovery and come too.

can you get some work done - enough to make it easier but still leave time for yourself?

msg 2 feeling human in spite of many interruptions to sleep.
warm day. was going to walk to work, but decided against it. what waited this long, will wait some more. i'm kind of on vacation.spending it taking care of my body. better go irrigate.
still hoping to dance tonight. waiting for confirmation phone call. probably won't know how to do many. hope i get some sort of workout.
my brain is awake. i need to exercise it. resisting doing something useful 'cause i still want to pamper me, but i might as well get something done and have less future pressure.

apart from not seeing fireworks, that's the best news I've had from you in a long time.

rain nearly all day but could have been a lot worse. I'm grateful to be warm and dry.

had extra grass seed spread round area near bird bath. looked out of the window this morning and think every pigeon in Australia must have been out there enjoying it for breakfast.

time ran away from me yesterday so didn't post. hope you have good gynec result.

pleasant day yesterday until I got back from playing scrabble and found air conditioning not working. had to get up in night and put cardigan and socks on before going back to bed. hope it can be fixed because replacing it would be costly.

will have to wait in for technician so I guess i'll have to use the time to catch up on indoor tasks.

started to walk to post mail [only about 8 minutes] but someone insisted on driving me partway. didn't like to refuse because might be glad of a lift some time. walked back.

physio OK to go to exercise class. asked if it would be all right to hire treadmill later on. not keen but said he'll think about it.

ladybird should be applauding you!! well done.

hardly discussed cold. low in vit d. aic (sugar) higher than he wants. wants me to see dietitian. i told him i know more than she does. trying to get back to eating "well" after the high carbs i was having. he wants me to eat egg whites. i intend to have one egg and one white.

he wants me to have skin allergy tests. the blood test was useless.
need to figure out how to have my nuts and carrots on the road. today i took a hard boiled egg and a banana. nuts are healthier and carrots are sturdier. forgot extra white, but had it when i came home.

sigh - you're right!
physio - slight nosebleed which worried him because of warfarin but caused no problem. hurting after treatment but he said I should go to exercise class. enjoyed it but now have pain in both hips - don't know from which but if it eases tomorrow worth it.
neighbour who fell and hurt shoulder in lot of pain - will probably need cortisone shot soon.

i do not agree with ladybug. give it away.
mouth bleeding slightly. surgeon says ok.
sinus is chronic, i think. i neglected it a few years ago when busy with parents. let's hope not permanent. we should take care of ourselves else we pay too high a price afterwards.

rain, rain and still more rain - no hope of a walk.

good! it is difficult re teeth and gums. had to ignore part of my mouth for a while but back to full treatment again now. is the sinus problem more or less permanent? would you be likely to make use of the nutribullet late?.

tidied out food cupboard and discovered half a block of dark mint chocolate - not my favourite which is why i probably forgot it was there. ladybird said we were obviously meant to eat at least some of it today.

sorry you're still in pain.

my mouth is feeling much better. i'm eating soft food without blending. still blending hard stuff. i'm going to do netti pot for my sinuses now, i think. gotta irrigate the tube in my mouth 3 times a day. completely neglecting the other three-quarters of my mouth!! not too bright.

managed short walk today although still pain from treatment. don't see physio until monday. took sleeping tablet last night so slept more but don't like doing it.

different driver yesterday. one of her jobs is to pick up autistic child who kicks, scratches and even bites her. another job is cleaning for lady in seventies. perfectly healthy but dirty dishes everywhere and rotting food. not a good career choice!

yes, there is potential for very serious, but a lot of hope that it won't be. when it hurt at night , i took painkiller. now i just put anbesol (local anesthetic) so i have been able to sleep. stomach kept me up more than mouth.

glad your mouth is better and ladybird enjoyed her salad.

sorry about your car . expense and nuisance.

very sorry about your pain. ask the physio.

someone suggested i get a hand (immersion) blender. reasonably priced ones don't seem to get good reviews.

I don't think I realised quite how serious the problem is and how unpleasant and difficult the treatment. are you insured for it? you certainly deserve to lose weight. my mouth is almost back to normal again but I think I will leave nuts a little longer. treated ladybird to seafood salad - unfortunately swimming in mayonnaise but delicious and she's happy with it.

mixed day - problem with optometry appointment so now I have to wait a fortnight until I can get my driver again. also a factory recall on my model of car - have been able to arrange for someone to pick it up and return it but I will need a complete service [highly expensive] as it hasn't been driven for so long and i will probably need to buy a new battery too.

don't know what the physio did yesterday but have been in a lot of pain ever since. awake most of last night so tempted to take sleeping pill. does your mouth worry you at night?

what's with the mouth ulcers? cause? treatment? progress?
i'm glad your leg is improved. i'm worried about your breathing.

i have a huge cyst in my left lower jaw that replaced most of the bone there. they are trying to shrink the cyst slowly to make it safer to operate on it. they claim the bone will regrow when the cyst shrinks. surgery right now would be a major operation that would include bone grafting. they make an opening which i have to irrigate 3 times a day. (not easy for me). he put a tube so it's easier for me to reach. he's done this 100's of times and claims 90% success rate. he's done it with the tube only 10 times. i guess he's not perfected that yet. i wonder if i would have opted for the tube if i realized he could do without. the stitching was incomplete and i was bleeding. yesterday he added stitches and stopped the bleeding. my cheek/chin are black and blue but i feel better. i was on liquidy diet because of surgery. today i ate fish and it made me hurt more. i must eat soft for a long time (not pureed, but no carrots or nuts which i will miss a lot. such portable protein and fiber). want to protect what is left of my jaw from cracking. not even steak or anything very chewy.

chopped up pre-cooked beef bourgignon and veg and cooked it until it was almost runny in microwave. will check avocado lunchtime and see if it is soft enough to mash. sleeping well is always a plus.

what exactly is causing the bleeding and where are you turning black and blue? I do hope the procedure is successful. is it difficult to get there? echo your feelings re docs, specialists, etc.

managed a short walk today. leg seemed OK but breathing very bad.

thanks. i enjoyed the wedding. left early. no main or dessert, but had ice cream at home.
went back to doc. he conceded i was bleeding abnormally and added a few stitches. still builds up pressure and releases. now i'm turning black and blue, so i'm bleeding internally instead of externally. have i mentioned i hate docs. didn't tell me to put on ice and eat soft again. i had to ask.
i really do not mind pureed food at all. just need someone to make it for me. better than a steady diet of ice cream and yogurt. haven't bought pudding yet.

can't take echinacea. too much autoimmune stuff around me (and maybe in me). contraindicated.

neither of us are doing too well at the moment - one good thing is that we're not tempted to buy "goodies". couldn't face the idea of pureed food but having lots of yoghourt and frozen fruit microwaved until it is almost liquid. receive soup with every meal on wheels so I can dunk bread in it. will have to throw out the apple the lady sliced for me last week.

you really do not need a cold at the moment to add to your problems. have started taking the equivalent to Echinacea as a preventative.

fluid under control but only with diuretics and restricted intake. if I drink more, i'll have to take extra diuretics.

I hope you enjoy the wedding if you go. you certainly won't need to worry about overeating.

don't like your eye situation! exercises are always good. get good guidance.

instead of living on ice cream and pudding for two days, i pureed real food. even salad. ice cream once a day. applesauce from a jar without sugar. can you have someone do the same for your fruit and vegetables? some people find it unpalatable, but i had no problem. (i'll eat anything!)

my "cold" is returning. i'll have to ask about neti pot and steaming. meanwhile made appt with oral surgeon tomorrow and postponed gp to next week.

wedding tonight. undecided.

very unpleasant procedure but you should be feeling reassured about your decision since you've done your research. he sounds like someone you can discuss things with and and who will answer your questions.

need laser on eye, which is minor problem, and not good result re double vision. specialist says there are three possible reasons for it - two of which cannot be rectified. he doesn't hold out much hope for the third but is sending me to a neurologist for tests. says I may just have to live with the problem and end up covering one eye for reading. think I will start doing some eye exercises. even if they don't help they won't to any harm.

friend brought me some food from shopping centre and stayed for a nice, long chat, which cheered me up.

I'm worried about eating and exercise too. food at the moment chosen because of texture and no raw vegetables or hard fruit. walking very difficult last time and not helped by our being advised not to go out tomorrow morning because of gales.

we're both having a bad time at the moment but we must believe things will improve and keep on trying.

doc called back. told me to wait till morning. i irrigated this morning, but it was blocked mid-day. he said to keep trying and if not, i'll go in mon or tues.
by "married", i think he meant we'll be seeing a lot of each other for a long time. at least he's nice. i still can't believe how quickly i agreed. others are surprised, too. i have now researched and see this is done. it's certainly the lesser evil. don't know how many versions there are or who does it best. would be hard to be "married" to someone far away. i can only hope it works and goes fairly smoothly. no clue how i'll keep the teeth and gums clean.

meanwhile i'm concerned i've been fairly sedentary for months now. not good. also allowed myself some ice cream (suggested by dentist, but i know better. he also said i earned a lollypop for being good when he worked. i asked if he was drumming up business.). don't tell our critters :)

hope you get a good report by eye specialist. that's been an ordeal for you, too.

i'm reasonably comfortable. i don't know how to irrigate the tube. i'm still bleeding and it increases when i try to look for the tube. doc hasn't called me back. i guess i'm going in tomorrow.
it is my style to avoid surgery. i jumped at the opportunity to do this relatively minor procedure to avoid the major one, but maybe i should have given it more thought and research. now i can only hope it works and without major kinks. doc said he hopes i like him, because now we will be married. i'm not quite sure what i got myself into.

sounds horrible, minnie. an operation is certainly not something to be undertaken lightly and I am sure you will do everything possible to avoid it.

will talk to physio and doctor re mouth ulcers. used to have them frequently when I was feeling run down but not recently. walked for 15 minutes but pace has slowed since last setback. will just have to keep trying.

spent afternoon with neighbour who had fall recently so between us we had two good arms.

hoping for good news re your gum.

so sorry. i had no phone service , and thus no internet for a few days. haven't been going anywhere.

found a very big cyst in my gum on wednesday. i'm missing a chunk of jaw in lower left. had surgery today to do biopsy and insert a tube. surgical removal is an 11 hour operation. trying to avoid it. was doing neti pot and steaming for my "cold", but will stop now. taking antibiotic for gum, anyway. codeine will make me feel good. :)
what's with your mouth sores? hope they go away quickly. canker sores? we can research on web. mention to physio. he may know something.
