msg 2 lung specialist decided on phone that i have pneumonia without listening and although xray on monday was clear. he wants to see me tomorrow so he can bill insurance. repeat: i hate doctors, but they are a necessary evil.
he wanted to give me levaquin. i refused. so he gave me 2 antibiotics instead which pharmacist says are safer. pharmacist felt amoxycillin or zpac were adequate. i agree with him, but doc wouldn't.
i need to find a good doctor to coordinate all and make good recommendations. the good doctors i had are getting old. they don't even make hospital visits.

good their helping you get used to driving again.hope it gets easier.
fever up again last night. under 102 this morning, but that happened yesterday, too. cough has become productive. might mean antibiotics. trying to get into lung doctor. wish he could strengthen me so this doesn't keep happening . respiratory therapy?

yes, a temperature like that is serious and recovery must be your absolute priority at the moment. salad and peaches sound a good idea.

will do.

very little sleep last night and today seems to have gone on forever. physio this morning - still limiting me a bit but not bad. went for a walk then met friends for coffee.

driving lesson this afternoon. found it very difficult to get into the car as it's a 4-wheel drive. she said she'd intended to tell me to drive locally and to go to the local shopping centre but had left her mobile at home so had to drive there, then she decided to take me round lots of twisting streets. another lesson next week.

hoping for better news tomorrow.

my fever is lower, but not gone. 1 made it over 103 farenheit a few times. she said that's dangerous at my age and insisted i take tylenol to knock it down. no antibiotic cause seems to be viral.thanks, ladybird, i've been drinking and eating a little. haven't given much thought to natural remedies. am listening.was thinking of blending a salad with garlic and red peppers and eating peaches for vit a.

go to the class and enjoy it without guilt. you need it. others would have been given permission, too, if it was as important. you quitting won't get others in.hope you keep progressing.

I think you are wise staying home until you recover. are you taking any medication? ladybird says tell turtle to look after you and make sure you don't get dehydrated or too weak.

strength and balance class today. I don't know whether any others have been given the chance to attend for the third term and feel a bit guilty because most, if not all of those, who started with me won't be able to. i don't feel guilty enough to refuse and have been definitely enrolled for it today.

wish i could help but I'm sure you know as much as i do about natural remedies. feel better soon..

teacher back from holiday so went to gentle exercise class. also walked.

heard from licensing authority. sending me new licence restricting me to driving only during daylight hours but will still have to take OT test to find out if I can drive at all.

i'm back, but i'm not well. major diarhea. minor (i hope) cough.headache as result of upset stomache.

good for turtle. short walk but got thoroughly soaked.

normally only allowed to do two terms of strength and balance but last week their physio said I was obviously strongly motivated and had improved a lot but they felt I could improve even more. offered me the chance of attending for a third term, which needless to say I accepted. next term will run to end of November so won't have to worry about finding another class until next year.

no formal exercise but cleaned out floor-to-ceiling cupboard, which entailed a lot of bending and stretching.

Gorgeous weather yesterday - best day since last summer. walked.

Went to fte sorry accent won't print - got talked into sausage sizzle, which was held outside, and later cake and coffee.

Enjoy yourself the time you are not posting. I do hope that both turtle and ladybird don't think it's an excuse to overeat as they won't have to confess to each other.

turtle and i chuckled. turtle must have read this earlier today, because she let me eat choc chip cookie (i was told it was "healthified") and several blue potato chips along with cantaloupe. i skipped a meal but it's not the way to go. hope my totals for the day are ok. too lazy to record. i walked a little.

glad you had such a good time.

you seem to have a variety of walking companions. there's a local walking group I'd love to join but breathing not good enough. can't even keep up with active friends. we have one more day of good weather, then it's due to change again.

went to doc re medical report for licensing authority. he's put on it that I should only drive during the day but I still have to wait for session with OT to find out if I can drive at all. it wouldn't be so difficult if it weren't for the heart problem but, if it deteriorates, it could mean that I will not even be able to walk short distances.

caught ladybird giggling at this online: "Skinny people are easier to kidnap, stay safe eat cake." Says she's concerned about my safety.

came home exhausted and fell into bed. remembered you and would have gotten up to write, but afraid to open computer and get stuck. you knew i was going away. had lovely time. 1.5-2 hr. trip, but even that was pleasant. working at home today, fortunately.

me, too. can tolerate these 2 bites. 2 have dried up.don't want more. not sure what cortisone does.

no time for doc this week or next.

good you walked, too. i danced a little at wedding. otherwise, door to door service. feet were tired, but knees behaving.

was wedding season. no, husband is unsociable.
hope paypal pays your return postage. didn't know it was a service they provided.

sorry you slept badly but glad you managed your appointments.

frustrating mixup!!!

mosquito bites back. didn't want them to get as bad as last year. doc on vacation. went straight to dermatologist. he said to put cortisone. walked 2 miles.

good. I was taking Coumadin too and know the problems.

Slept badly last night but physio and strength and balance class today.

Talked to OT - neurologist should have supplied medical records form for GP but didn't. Now have to go to another doc to get it sorted.

wedding was really nice. brought home main. she was annoyed i came home with early ride. driver is on coumadin. she says her INR goes bad every time she eats out. she ate very little at wedding. enjoy your food freedom to increase your variety of nutritious food. hope doc is pleased.

sometimes many smaller things add up to a lot of achievement.

walked, went to meeting, had coffee with friends.

doc - he'll be on holiday after next week. have two big bruises and also have to have blood test in time for next appointment to make sure kidneys are coping on new anticoagulant. in the meantime i'll make the most of having no food restrictions.

can 'phone, text receive/send e-mails on mobile but will have to wait until later in the week to try to get other functions set up.

glad builder worked out. get rid of dust slowly. be patient and let cleaner do it.

yes, let them set up phone for you. they can move your contacts, too (i'm told).

slow day escaped:
-working on getting lift.
-read about time management!!!
-cleaned up computer a little more. disk is now over half empty. i can put back some of what i stored on usb drives so i don't have to plug them in.
-looked at other email accounts. found one to take care of.
-exercised knees and wrists, but nothing yet for weight loss. here i go...

builder was good, swept up and used hand vac but still film of dust over everything and bits of dirt keep floating down.

been trying to set up new 'phone but think I might take it into provider as he will be much quicker than I am.

glad you got ride and obviously you didn't have too many calories. enjoy the second wedding.

worried about your knee. time to do something!

builder arrived at 7.30 this morning - I was still in pyjamas but at least I was up. didn't leave until well after 5. door open cold, noisy and smell of paint so went for walk then to meet friends for coffee.

got a lift to and from bookclub and am enjoying the quiet and being warm. planning a thoroughly lazy evening listening to an audiobook.

msg 2. we got a ride back. hardly anything to eat. i find that often at fancy weddings. i brought home the dinner because i wasn't hungry, it was late and ride was leaving. husband said it wasn't good, anyway.
knee acting up again. not sure if yesterday's biking or today's walk to bus in heels. will have to pursue. need diagnosis and hopefully nothing more than physical therapy. need guidance what i can and can't do.better do the muscle strengthening i found in my books again. it might have helped, or maybe avoiding bike??

to some extent, you are my journal. glad you slept well.
remembered something when in bed and got back on computer. then digestive tract didn't let me sleep.
wedding tonight. many hours on bus.maybe i'll sleep.
another wedding monday which i plan to enjoy. have a ride. should take 20-30 min to get there.
enjoy the weekend.

if your knee is worrying you, don't delay too long getting it checked out. earned dollar, went for short walk and met friends for coffee.

you're doing well.
good you didn't eat at night. i grab milk or cheese.
hope builder shows up.
enjoyed some time with friend today.
walked and biked. knees are clicking when i do seated extensions. hurts a little in one spot. afraid to try on new bad sneakers again. don't really know what caused problem. canceled appt by doc tomorrow, but must find out what it was and how to avoid in future.
jaw surgeon postponed my appt and so did financial person (whose report i don't particularly like. guess i get what i pay for. she is kinda free from job.) so next week is not as busy as i expected. not sure yet about following week.

glad you enjoyed the dancing. allowed to take it easy today after class yesterday and physio this morning but did go for a short walk and earned dollar.

joined.

felt really hungry in the middle of the night Tuesday and Wednesday but didn't have any "wickeds" after the cleanout, also too lazy and didn't want to brave the cold.

builder will return Friday to adjust and paint door. has to wait for screen door, etc. but hopes to be able to finish job by end of next week.

felt very nervous yesterday. better today, tho nothing changed. was really glad to be able to go dancing. managed to follow most of the time and enjoyed. there was someone there i danced with decades ago.

hope you managed to go to dance class and enjoyed it.

couldn't sleep last night so very tired today. tempted to miss strength and balance class but went anyway. Glad afterwards.

Builder didn't return today. Guess it's the same with most of them - they come on the days which fit in with their other jobs.

thanks. lost 0.2 for the week. tracker predicts 142 by end of 4 weeks. going in right direction. so much effort. :) to ladybird.

you did well with eating and walked a lot. ladybird says you should remind us two or three days before you go so that she can have a word with turtle.

busy day. shopping centre - bought a new smartphone - if I can get to shopping centre again this week will see if I can get my provider to finish setting it up, if not I may have to wait until the weekend to do it myself and it would take me much longer.

builder came, started on door, didn't leave until well after 5, technician also came and fixed air conditioning. cost reasonable and it is a pleasure to have a warm home again.

exhausted already and it's only Monday.

brrr! hope it's not big expense and bother. moving is silver lining.

i took one plate of the best food i could find. went back for a little more veggies. then turtle let me have a spoonful of ice cream with nuts and choc chips on top.
then while waiting i snuck a few onion rings behind her back. I've always liked them and haven't had any in a long time.

walked to and from buses and short walk with neighbor.

not sure how much i'll get to computer during last week in august. hope i don't have to admit to too much bad food at the end.

at least you didn't answer.

air conditioning not working today - have a couple of heaters on, which are OK for limited area but make it feel even colder in the other rooms. am lucky technician has said he will come tomorrow afternoon but my main worry is that, because the system has been in long before we came here, I may have to buy a new one.

on the plus side ladybird and I are keeping moving to keep warm.

have started on my extras from the online order.

will see whose problem it is tonight. this is the only place where it happens.

glad about gums but plaque is always a problem for me. really should go to dentist but too many other things to sort out first.

walked today and earned dollar. I'm looking forward to lighter evenings to come.

builder came round and we finalised works to be done. think he will be OK.

met friends for coffee but refused temptation. received online order. this time the mistakes were for healthy food, 2 x capsicum and cucumber instead of one, 5 x bananas instead of 3, which I shall eat with pleasure. at least I did get all I ordered.

the weeks go by too quickly. enjoy your weekend too.

dental hygienist pleased with gums which i've been poking. but lots of plaque on teeth i haven't been brushing. walked home. it's starting to get dark earlier, to my displeasure.

getting rides is a problem. first wedding is possible without, even if it does mean staying overnight. second one is more difficult. in the past I have walked home alone in the middle in the middle of the night but I would not like to do it nowadays. any chance of finding out in advance if anyone will be getting bus back?

spent more time on 'phone calls to accountant and tax office but think [fingers crossed] we're now up to date for returns for 2012-2013-2014. still have to wait for news re estate.

also been in contact with occupational therapist re driving. didn't receive copy of letter from neurologist so have to send one to her before we can talk further. car insurance expires at beginning of next month and, if this Is not sorted by then, will have to declare it, which could affect my rating.

sorry spark and computer are frustrating/worrying you.

hope you enjoy the outings.

doc is in office in hospital. then bus leaves from stop near doc. if i don't get a ride back from wedding, i have to sleep over and take bus next morning. means lugging wedding cloths and nightclothes. not as impt as good result by doc, but a nuisance. meanwhile my knee is improving. would still like to know what it is and how i set it off. it limited me for months. gp said no bike. bike would have been good for some causes of pain and bad for others. and it wasn't only that knee.

also don't have ride for wedding the next week. there the bus goes right to the hall and there is a late bus back on which i could come with neighbors, unless they get a ride and i don't. then i don't have company from bus to house in the middle of the night.

dance class friend came over to dance. we need someone to follow. then new partner called to walk. earned my $.

earned a dollar and went to exercise class. will miss it and the other people when it ends. will have to work out how to not lose the improvements I have made.

you're right, butt exercises are not for me. I have enough to do with those from the physio and those from the strength and balance class which are possible at home.

yes, the advantage of cleaning out the house.

was stood up twice today. got up early but didn't get to mall. didn't get to try out a new dance class, either. it's only for the summer and i won't be able to go next 2 weeks. was disappointed. did dance video online instead. very sleepy.

didn't enter my food and had fat instead of veggies. turtle must be sleepy, too.

MC is butt exercises. don't imagine they're for you. is there alternative you can do?

cold, rainy and hail storms so we'll probably meet Wednesday instead.

ladybird says turtle must be being very strict with you.

have decided on contractor to change door etc. quote reasonable for work involved but of course tax pushes the price up. just have to make a few amendments and, hopefully, we can start thinking of a date to start.

got a scam e-mail. supposedly from tax office. saying I am entitled to refund. have reported it and site will be closed but hope nobody gets caught.

ladybird and I both feel like a "treat". just as well I have nothing "bad" at home.

raining heavily again today so no walk.

tackled some of the outstanding paperwork but it accumulates so quickly I feel i'll never catch up. did a lot of small jobs which were necessary but don't feel I achieved much. dreary day so might meet friends for coffee tomorrow. that always cheers me up.

downloaded free app on kindle and been given $6 to spend on downloading books.

drank herbal tea last night and slept better. don't know whether it was that or the fact that I'd only slept about two hours the night before but, whichever it was, I'm grateful.

you did well. met friends for coffee this morning but was good.

better weather so walked and earned dollar.

met someone from local exercise class who asked me what I was going to buy with the money I would save while teacher is away. ladybird was disgusted when I bought a cardigan but you can't have too many this weather.

bit sad today as it would have been husband's birthday.

msg 2. took buses to first wedding. ate only normal meal (with an extra carrot muffin cube that i would never have at home). i got ride to second wedding. ate nothing at second. didn't really dance at either. but could have been worse. would have been two meals on two different nights. was walking home with husband, when neighbor offered us a ride which my husband chose to accept. good thing i did 12 min of exercise before i left.

herbal tea for sleep is good idea. hope it helps. i have chamomile, but don't make it or decaf green tea, either.

muist take me to rheumatologist and/or orthopedist. must decide which.

two weddings tonight. hot and wet out. i guess it'll cool off after rain.

would be amazed if tax office refunded costs. getting only one number doesn't mean they've sorted it out, just that someone must have looked at it. still have to wait for them to close the case.

will have a look at MC and, if I can do it without tracking food, i'll join. made online order today, including BROCCOLI. [yes, I am shouting.]

it's already nearly 11 and I haven't eaten dinner yet so it's going to be late to bed again.

hope you can find out what's wrong with your knee.

hope you find someone.

earned dollar and went to exercise class. only have six to go but a lot of people have asked if we could have a follow-up. hope so but can only wait and see.

letter from tax office about estate saying "we have incorrectly issued more than one tax number and you are only allowed one". they've cancelled the previous ones, issued a new one and put all the information under it. never thought the tax office would admit a mistake and at least it shows someone must be following up our submission.

great news! warfarin is a big nuisance. now you can eat greens. hope the new pill works well.
i recorded yesterday and earned $130. i may have lost a few ounces.
dance teacher may have retired. she's with my old dance teacher. now don't know who to go to. know a third, but she's way ahead of me.

Some good news at last! doc and cardiologist have been in touch and both say it's OK to come off warfarin. start new tablet tomorrow. will keep my fingers crossed there are no problems. only snag is that I have to take tablets strictly 12 hours apart but it's goodbye to constant blood tests and food restrictions.
ladybird got quite excited until I started mentioning fruit and veg.

walked but didn't earn dollar.

Don't think it's what she would want but can offer next time I visit her.

Visited ex-scrabble friend who is now in local aged care centre. Had 3-bedroomed home with two bathrooms and was reluctant to move. She particularly misses her garden but neighbour came in as I was leaving and brought her some flowers from it. She accepts that she can no longer live alone and care for herself and is being positive.. Says staff friendly and helpful and hopes to make new friends there.

Sorry about your knee. It is frustrating when you don't know why you hurt.

Cold, windy and very wet. Glad to be at home this evening with the heating turned on.

no hurry for stepper so will wait for a while.

be nice to have scrapbooks but you don't need extra to do.

walked and earned dollar. did meditation tape I had before I even new spark existed and realised why I didn't play it.

coffee with friends then visited someone who has bleeding behind the retina and cannot see to read, watch TV, etc. lent her an audio book so at least that might help her to pass some time. has had treatment but told there is only 30% chance of cure. now has to wait until september before visiting specialist again. not hard to make you appreciate the things you can do.

hope you slept, and are now sleeping, well.

Couldn't sleep last night so very tired today.

Did a lot of walking at shopping centre so that will have to count as my exercise for today. Looked at aerobic stepper but the only one which might have been suitable was with a stretch band, which I already have, and a rope, which I don't want. Ladybird is happy that I didn't waste her dollars.

I went to a couple of chair yoga classes quite a while ago but it's not the same and I didn't enjoy them.

managed to walk before it started raining. do them online most days.

I will if she will but it may be same as with your friend. One snag is lack of music. I have portable player and lots of CDs but they're not suitable for exercising.

i have a chair yoga dvd i never enjoyed or did. not even sure if it's home or in the office. wish i could give it to you. there are online chair exercise classes.

productive today. was glad for break to walk with young partner. she was pushing a stroller, so i was able to keep up. she bought a big jigsaw puzzle. reminded me to do one online. haven't in quite a while. have you?

please do get together with friend from class. friend from dance class said same thing. never happened. doubt it will.

Am considering playing meditation/relaxation tape after I get into bed. Online jigsaws are best for me because I don't have to think.

Do mixture from physio and both exercise classes. Strength and balance today did a few new things which made it interesting. Hope I don't ache too much tomorrow. Could be interested in buying aerobic stepper, not necessarily for climbing onto but for raising and holding legs. Checked it with physio there - she's OK about it but ladybird isn't, says it's a waste of her dollars. I'll make her tell you if I find anything suitable.

I believe there are chair yoga classes but I would so like to do the real thing and to go to dance class again.

Good. social occasions are a mixed blessing.

One friend from Monday class says she wants to do some of the exercises while the teacher is away so maybe we can do something at her place or mine.

Have to divide my yoghourt and nuts into portions for days of week.

can you read or listen to something when you can't sleep? playing freecell relaxes me, contrary to the common wisdom. exercise and bath wake me up. eating late-especially fiber-doesn't let me sleep. slept well, but till 3 pm. then stuck on 2 phone calls. have done nothing yet. will be a long night.

crackers and biscuits doesn't sound like a meal to me.

prove exercise instructor wrong. do them with ladybird.

rest, drink and eat vit a and c so you don't get sick.

wish i had patience for meditation and yoga.

friends for lunch on wed. promised turtle i'll behave.

6 weddings on the horizon!! plus a challenging last week in august. one conflicts with last week in august and is of minimal interest. almost glad to have an excuse not to go.turtle and i must make a plan. shall we always pack up dinner at wedding???

Unfortunately, not sleeping well. Eating evening meal any time from 10-11.30 because I don't want to go to bed and lie there sleepless. Do "treat" myself to a sleeping tablet once a week.

I appreciate having a cleaner every second week so only have to do minor jobs. I think it's a good idea for you to get one.

Busy day - doc. May not be able to go off warfarin if my liver function is not good enough. Says to contact OT re driving.
Physio - usual.
Meeting - took crackers and biscuits with me for lunch.
Exercise class - instructor away until end August. Has given us exercise sheets but doesn't believe we'll exercise in the meantime. Person next to me coughing and sneezing.

too hot to go out. grateful for a/c, even though i don't like closed windows. other rooms feel like sauna.
feel a little unwell, anyway. suspect allergic to dust i encountered while cleaning. i must be more insistent that it be done by others.my old cleaner said she'd call during the summer. i should have tried to call her.
have been doing strength. knee still not good enough for bike, but it's better. i should do a gentle walk dvd now.

The only one I do is teeth and gums.

I used to love walking round the botanic gardens so I hope she does take you.

Good - tax returns signed. except for one which I definitely paid, and form to declare estate was finalised in 2009 - now we wait and see.
Bad - it cost me over $1,700 and caused him a lot of extra work, which he could do without as it's the end of the financial year.
Bad - unable to change Paypal card on online food site, then delivery was over 2 hours late so couldn't meet friends, then they didn't send me any frozen food. Wasted over two hours on 'phone sorting it out.
Bad - had to change Paypal card number [because other one stopped by bank] and now there are two unauthorised purchases charged to my a/c [one is for a toy gyro and I don't think ladybird would have been tempted]. Have informed Paypal and both sellers and changed password again but worried about how secure it is now.
Bad - needed to make backup disc but told my external hard drive was full. As it has more gigabytes left than I am ever likely to us, I've given up on it for today.

Sorry to be such a misery but I seem to have spent the last two days on the 'phone or computer trying to sort out problems. I shall now try to think positive thoughts and see what I can eat for my evening meal.
