Day 26 of No Pop
Day 26 of No Fast Food
Day 26 of Drink 80 oz of water per day

Cardio: 60 minutes on the treadmill

I'm four days away from reaching my 30 day goal! WOOHOO!!!

I'm going to continue on with these goals and add two or three more on February 1st. I'm thinking that my new goals are going to be:

~Eat 1 serving of veggies per day
~Eat 1 serving of fruit per day
~No sweets

I really need to start cutting out junk food and I'm going to tackle it by cutting out one thing a month.

Be careful of this guy. You must trust your instincts - they will not fail you. As someone who had some really bad relationships in the past you must trust yourself over anyone else.

Keep up the good work. Writing things down helps.

Day 22 of No Pop
Day 22 of No Fast Food
Day 22 of Drinking 80 oz of water

Yesterday, was NOT a good day for me. When I got to work, I checked my personal emails and saw that I had one from my "stalker" (that's what we'll call him). He told me that he's moving to my side of town and asked me (again) why I haven't called him. I don't know why I let it get to me like I did, but I did. I was in such a bad mood that I snapped at my boss and co-worker. I was also rude to clients that called in.

On my way home from work, I called and let a message for him. I just told him: This is Michele and I'm doing what you wanted me to do, call you. Bye. If he has caller ID, I'm sure that he'll return the call. What I'm hoping for (and it probably won't happen) is that he'll hear how pissed off I was and will just not call me back.

Last night, as I was writing in my Journal, I decided that I am NOT going to let his emails (or him) put me in a pissy mood. From this point foward, I'm going to delete his emails (before reading them) and will ignore his phone calls.

Day 20 of No Pop
Day 20 of No Fast Food
Day 20 of Drink 80 oz of water per day

Cardio: 40 minutes on the treadmill
Chest Press (machine): 3 sets, 10 reps, 30 lbs

I have to admit, that it is really cool to see how long I've gone without having a pop or fast food. After seeing it written down, I'm more determined to make it 30 days without having pop or fast food!

Honestly? I think he's harmless, but just really annoying. Right now, he's just NOT something that I want/need to be dealing with.

Day 19 of No Pop
Day 19 of No Fast Food
Day 19 of Drink 80 oz of water per day

Cardio: 50 minutes on the elliptical machine

I'm really down today and I'm blaming it all on my weight. I HATE that I'm so bloated that I look like I'm 9 months pregnant. I HATE that I've been doing cardio (5 days a week) and lifting (3 days a week) and I keep GAINING weight.

A guy I used to work with, at my part-time job, found me on Facebook and is now my friend. About a month ago, he posted that he wanted me to call him ASAP. I don't have his number, so I didn't call him. Well, about a week ago, he left his phone number on my Facebook page and told me to call him. Normally, I wouldn't think twice about it and would have called him. Then, I started thinking about how - one day when I came home from work - he was parked across the street from my house. He saw me get out of my truck, walk into my house and then he left. The next time that I saw him, he told me that he saw my truck (in my driveway), came up to the door and knocked, but I didn't answer it. If I was home, I was in the basement and I don't hear when people knock on the door. I've also seen him in my neighborhood (quite a few times). His Dad does live in my neighborhood, so it could just be that he was going to or coming from his Dad's house.

Every time I see him, around town, he runs up to me, gives a huge hug and then keeps her arm around my shoulder. So, I'm NOT going to call him. I've decided that I do NOT need him having my phone number because then it means that he can call me at all hours of the day/night.

I also just got an email from his daughter (that I also used to work with). She told me that her Dad is moving and that he's very happy about it. She told me that I need to ask him where he's moving to. Right now, I'm freaking out that he's going to be moving in the house - right across the street from me - that is being rented out.

I just need to keep telling myself that I'll deal with this when/if it happens. There's no need for me to get so worked up about it (right now) until it happens.

I am really disappointed in myself and the HUGE gain that I had this week. I guess that all my working out didn't save me from the two bad days of eating that I had. I really need to stop eating junk food (or too much) when I'm stressed out or bored.

I also need to go grocery shopping because I have nothing (good) in my house to eat. Now, I just need to sit down and make my list of things that I'll eat.

THOUGHTS:
This is going to be a long day for me because I have a headache, lots of work to do and the office dogs won't stop barking. On top of that, my boss is cranky and is yelling at the dogs to shut up. Yep, it's just making it worse.

So far, I am failing miserable at the "don't let things get to me" goal that I set for this year. Yesterday (and so far today), EVERYTHING got to me and I didn't do anything to even try to stop it.

Chest Press: 3 sets, 12 reps, 15 lbs
Hammer curls: 3 sets, 12 reps, 12 lbs
Rope Pressdowns: 3 sets, 12 reps, 30 lbs
Squats: 3 sets, 15 reps, no weight
Shoulder Press: 3 sets, 12 reps, 8 lbs

I know that I'm not a stupid person, so why am I having such a hard time getting the new billing system to work correctly? UGH! I am really frustrated and just want junk food. Lots and lots of junk food.

My boss and co-worker are also not helping my mood much. I do not need the added stress of having them ask me (every five minutes) "do you have it working yet?".

1.1.2010

Starting Weight: 201.2
Goal Weight: 150
Total Weight I want to Lose in 2010: 51.2 lbs

I was going to start a new Journal, but I've decided just to continue on with this one.

Here are my goals for 2010:
1. Pay down credit card debt.
2. Lose 51.2 lbs.
3. Stop being so negative
4. Take (at least) 15 minutes per day for ME.

How am I going to accomplish these goals? Here's what I have planned:

CREDIT CARD DEBT:
I am going to pay 3 times the minimum monthly payment that is due. Any extra paychecks I get, one-half will go towards my credit card debt and the other one-half will go towards other bills.

WEIGHT LOSS:
I am going to do (at least) 30 minutes of cardio, seven days per week. I am going to lift (at least) three days a week. I am going to do monthly "mini-goals". I am going to start cleaning up my eating. NO MORE buying junk food just because I'm having a bad day.

NEGATIVITY:
I am just going to try (really hard) to be a more positive person and NOT let my negative boss and/or friends bring me down.

ME TIME:
I am going to read a book, write in my Journal or do something for me.

Wish me luck!!

I am so happy that today is FRIDAY!!! Tomorrow, my parents are having my Dad's side over to celebrate Christmas. I'm so excited to see my relatives! Now, I just need to get in a little exercise and really watch the sweets.

I've decided that I am really bad at keeping a Journal and need to do something about it.

I made a Drs appt (for tonight) and I'll hope find out what's wrong with my knee and if I have a cold or something else. Right now, I just know that I feel 10 times worse then I did a week ago.

This morning, I took my FAVORITE Cycling Class and had an AWESOME workout. Of course, I'm now wiped out and just want to go back to bed.

It's official: I'm SUPER DUPER crabby and it's because of work. I'm getting really tired of my co-worker waiting until the last minute to do things that NEED to go out.

I'm still not feeling well and really wish that I could take a couple of days off. That is NOT going to be happening because I have too much "year end" stuff that I need to start getting ready for.

This weekend, I didn't go to the gym or do any sort of exercise.

I did go to the gym, this morning, and had a hard time concentrating on working out. ALL I wanted to do was go home and go back to bed.

UGH. I have a cold and I do not feel well. I just want to go home, put my comfy clothes on and sleep on the couch for the rest of the day. Of course, that is NOT going to happen because I have too much work (at work) that needs to get done.

Last night, while I was helping my sister shovel the bottom of our driveway out, I heard a "pop" in my right knee.

My drive home was slow going, but I made it in one piece. My drive to work was also slow going because of the wind, blowing snow and not being able to tell what the roads were like.

It took me an hour to shovel my driveway because the snow drifts were knee deep. I didn't even touch the sidewalks and I'm hoping that my nice neighbor - who has a snow plow - will do them for me.

I'm really hoping that my boss decides to close the office early because I just do NOT want to be here today. I can tell that I'm coming down with a cold because I have NO energy and just feel like I could sleep the day away.

I really don't mind the snow, it's the driving in it that is getting to me. My stomach is in knots and my hands are shaking because I get to drive home in a snow storm. Of course, the drive home will be NOTHING like the drive into work tomorrow because we're supposed to have 8 inches of snow on the ground and winds up to 40 mph. So, I'll be driving to work in blizzard like conditions. HOPEFULLY, they'll have the plows out and it won't be as bad as I'm making it out to be (in my mind).

Sunday, I met my friend for our walk/run. We cut 5 minutes off of our time from last week! Hopefully, we'll be able to do the same thing next week.

I am NOT looking forward to the snow they are predicting for Tuesday/Wednesday. Depending on which station you listen to, we could get anywhere from 2 to 10 inches of snow. I really hope we are closer to the 2 inch mark because when it comes to driving in the snow, I'm a baby. I'm scared that I'm going to end up in the ditch or hit another car.

What I really need to do is stop worrying so much about things that I have no control over and deal with it when it happens. That way, I won't get sick to my stomach, shaky and emotional.

Day 4 of No Pop
Day 4 of No Fast Food
Day 4 of No Donuts, cookies or candy
Day 1 of Couch to 5K running program

From this point forward, I am DONE with letting work run my life. No more coming in early or staying late to get work done. Whatever doesn't get done during work hours, will have to wait until the next day. I am DONE with running to the nearest fast food place, grocery store (for junk food) or ordering a pizza (and eating the whole thing) because I let work get to me. If my boss and co-worker don't care about clients and the work getting done, then I don't need to be concerned about it either.

I'm 38 years old and have come to realize that ALL I do is: go to the gym, work 12+ hours a day, sleep and start the whole process over the next day. NO MORE. I'm going to start doing things with my friends and family. I'm going to start doing someting for ME.

From this point forward, whenever work is getting to me, I'll vent about it in this Journal and NOT reach for food. From this point forward, I will tell myself that it's okay to take time for ME!

Thanks April.

I am very happy that I have a job and I am trying really hard NOT to let it get to me, but I just haven't been having the greatest luck with that lately.

I really didn't want this Journal to be all about work, but so far, that seems to be the way it's going. I have learned that because I didn't vent - about my problems - I ate and gained weight.

Great job by venting your frustrations out here. You just have to keep thinking about all the positive things at work to get you through the rough times. Be thankful you have a job--there are many who do not. Choosing to workout to vent is a great idea. I'm sure you will feel much better after the gym and you can be home with your family.

It's another crappy work day for me. I'm trying really hard to stay positive and not let things get to me, but it's not working. It feels like another day where I'll be leaving work in tears.

When I feel like this, all I want to do is eat junk food. So, it's a good thing that all I have to eat (at the office) are clementines, apples and Laughing Cow cheese.

I know that I'm over-reacting and things probably aren't as bad as I'm making them out to be because I'm tired and stressed out.

I couldn't believe how hard it was for me to run a couple of blocks and then walk a couple of blocks (yeseterday). Today, my legs are very tight and my ribs are very, very sore.

We are doing it - again - next week.

So far, today has NOT been a good work day. I have a lot of work to do and a VERY BAD headache.

I had a nice Thanksgiving Day. I slept in, read a book and then had an early dinner with my family.

Today, I'm at work, working on getting 500+ Christmas cards out. I came in early, so that I can leave as soon as the mail gets here.

Starting on Sunday, I am running with my friend. Right now, I'm really nervous about it. Will I be able to keep up with her? If I have to stop, a lot, will she think it was a bad idea asking me to run with her?

I have to say that this was NOT a great workout and I'm trying to figure out why I even went to the gym this morning. UGH.

I'm now thinking that I should go back, tonight, and take the 7:30 p.m. Cycling Class. Of course, I'm also thinking about how the work day is just NOT going by fast enough and how I want to go home and SLEEP.

I really like your positive attitude and I know that with that attitude you will succeed in making your weight loss a success. My Mom has had three open heart surgeries, and I dont want to be her, so I am going to make this journey a life changing one.

I hope that you will enjoy running with your friend, I have been wanting to do that as well, but I dont have anyone to run with me, but I will take my dog with me and go and do what I can do.

Good luck and best wishes to you on your journey.

Exercise: 60 minutes on the treadmill

This morning, I got an email from one of my friends. She's signed up for a race (in August 2010) and wants to know if I want to start running with her. She's 60 years old and hasn't run for a really long time. I told her that I would. We start this Sunday at 9 a.m.

I'm nervous and very scared about this because I'm not a running and it's been A LONG TIME since I have run. I hope that she's okay with walking/running until we get done with our three miles!

Work is NOT going well today, but what else is new? My co-worker had to leave early (to take her boyfriend to the Dr) and now I'm stuck doing her work and my own. Ask me how happy I am about this?

It was ANOTHER week of GAINING at Weight Watchers tonight. It was only .4 lbs, BUT it was another GAIN.

Right now, I'm wondering why I even bother joining WW in the first place. In the 11 weeks that I've been on the program, I've GAINED more then I've lost. Yet, am I trying to do anything to change that? Right now, nope. Right now, I'm thinking about quitting WW (again) and giving up on trying to lose weight. I'm beginning to think that I was meant to be the weight I am and that I should just live with it.

Maybe I should just quit trying (so hard) to lose weight and see if that makes a difference. I also know that I need to stop beating myself up every time I gain weight, miss a workout and eat something that I shouldn't have. Maybe, if I quit being so hard on myself, weight loss wouldn't feel like such a chore to me.

I just need to tell myself that it wasn't that big of a gain and that I just need to relax and not worry about it so much.

Exercise: 25 minutes on the elliptical machine and 35 minutes on the treadmill

Well, I found out that my Dad has decided to go deer hunting. I'm not happy about this, but I also know that he has to live his life and do what he wants to do. I just wish that the Dr would get back to him, with the results of his tests, so that we know what's really going on. Anyway, the only good thing about him going hunting? He'll be with all of his brothers and nephews and they'll make sure that he doesn't over-do it.

Even though the work day has barely begun, I'm ready for it to be over because my 4 year old niece is spending the night at my house tonight. Tomorrow, we're going out for breakfast (with a family friend), going for a walk and then heading to Grandma's house to help bake cookies/visit. It should be a fun weekend!

Okay, my goal is to NOT make this a "venting about work journal", but I need to get this out or I'm going to end up eating to make myself feel better.

My co-worker told me that she was too busy to take a phone call (she was playing a computer game) and told me to do. So, I did. After I got off the phone, I told my co-worker what I was told and she told me that I was wrong and treated me like I was an idiot. ALL I did was take the information that the caller was giving to me, told the caller that it made sense to me and that I'd pass the information along.

From this point forward, ALL I'm going to do is take a name/number and my boss or co-worker can return the call.

What really sucks is that I've been here for 18 years, have been taking message all that time and have NEVER been told (until today) that I was wrong and shouldn't tell the caller what I did. Really? I'm not supposed to tell the caller that what he/she just told me made sense and that I'd pass the message along? UGH.

Instead of my boss hiring somebody to help me out, she needs to hire somebody to help my co-worker out and that will take A LOT of stress off of me. It would also mean that I can go back to do what I was hired to do and be able to get MY work done during work hours.

I used to be MMW2048 and have decided to start Fresh (over) with SparkPeople. The reason? On Halloween weekend, my Dad had his 2nd and 3rd heart attacks. After seeing all that he's had to go thru, I've decided that I need to start putting myself first and taking care of my health. That's the reason why I'm starting FRESH with SP, Weight Watchers and exercise.

Exercise: 45 minute Cycling/Spinning Class

I started my day off on the right foot, by taking my FAVORITE Cycling/Spinning Class. In two weeks, my FAVORITE Instructor will be back. She took a couple of months off, so that she could just concentrate on training for the Arizona Ironman Triathlon (that's this weekend).

Still bummed that we will NOT be having our "Turkey Day 90 Minute" Cycling Class this year. Management has decided to close the gym on Thanksgiving.
