Well, I stayed away from the bad stuff, but couldn't figure out how to fit in the exercise last night. Tonight is going to be tough as well since it's girls' night out. I would like to point out, as a future reminder, what a great idea it is to hop right back on the healthy train after falling off. I lost 2 pounds yesterday after gaining 1.5 the day before. Now I'm right back on track! Woo hoo!

I finally did my strength training on Saturday! I even got in a walk. However, yesterday was really NOT good. I gained 1.5 pounds. I am doing my best to get back on track today. I will find a way to fit in some cardio exercise tonight after work and I will stay away from the chips, candy, and ice cream!

Yesterday did not go as planned. My Cub Scout pack meeting that was scheduled for 6 didn't start until almost 7 and didn't end until 8. I wasn't able to get dinner until after 8, was famished, and probably ate more than I should have. I also didn't get in my strength training since it was so late. However, today is a new day and I will do my best to fit in strength training and a walk or bike ride.

I did good yesterday. However, I ran out of time for strength training so I'll do it tonight. I did not eat after dinner last night and I made it to the gym for 40 minutes of cardio. Yay! I even lost 1.5 pounds. Bonus! I have 6.5 pounds to go before March 8th.

Okay, so it took 10 days to return to "normal". Granpa's surgery went very well. David and Carolyn had a very big and healthy baby boy. And I am ready to get back to more healthy habits. I REALLY need to stop eating at night after dinner. I also REALLY need to find the time to get some exercise. Tonight I hope to get to the gym and do strength training at home afterwards. My goal is to get to goal weight for my birthday, which is 4 weeks and 4 days from now.

Grandpa went to Harborview Medical by ambulance this morning and David and Carolyn will be having their baby anytime now, so it could be another couple of days before things return to normal.

I was pretty sore yesterday, but decided to go to the gym to make up for missing exercise the day before. I had never seen the gym so busy! I finally found 1 treadmill and hopped on. I planned to just walk, but felt like it wouldn't be enough so I did my usual run. Then I went on the elliptical for 6 minutes. By then, I was done! I went home and found the will to do my strength training so yeah me! I definitely pushed myself last night. I'm not sure if that was good or bad... Anyway, tonight I plan to go for a bike ride so I can get my rear used to it. All this exercise seems to be helping me in so many ways. I'm losing weight, my body is getting stronger, I feel happier, and I feel focused.

Somehow I lost 2.5 pounds yesterday! That leaves only 3.5 until I'm at goal weight. I wasn't able to get in any cardio yesterday, but I will tonight. I'm also going to do my strength training as planned as long as I'm not way too sore. I'm a bit sore after Tuesday's strength training. It seems to be doing the trick though!

Hubby made chili dogs last night so I approached my upper calorie limit and didn't lose any weight yesterday. However, I was really good about getting in my strength training. I formed a workout by myself that is challenging that I should be able to stick with. Today is nuts because I have scouts right after work and a baby shower right after that. So much for getting my cardio in. Maybe I'll be able to squeeze something in right after the baby shower?

I gained a bit yesterday despite a great workout at the gym. Who knew Avatar was a 3 hour movie? I didn't get dinner until after 8 and was desperate to find something fast. Live and learn. I'm getting daily exercise, eating pretty good and feeling much healthier. I can't complain. Tonight is strength training. I'm having trouble finding a routine that works for me, but I'll get there.

I finally got my new bike yesterday and went for a ride today for 15 minutes. I'm hoping to continue to ride regularly so my backside won't get so sore. I didn't lose any weight yesterday, but I did some strength training and stayed within my calorie range. I'm still a bit sore from my gym workout, but not too bad. I plan to continue working out every day and eating healthy. I'm feeling pretty good.

I am so proud of myself! I went to the gym yesterday after work and worked out for 45 minutes. I was able to do a lot more than I thought I could after being sick for so long. I'm continuing to feel better and am excited to be back on track. I also lost a pound. Today I'll do strength training.

I've been sick since before Christmas but am starting to get over it, I think. I'm getting back into my groove and want to get my health back. As for numbers, I've got 7.5 pounds to lose. Right now though, I just really want to feel good again. I haven't exercised since I can't remember when, so I'd really like to try to get in a walk today. Hopefully I will continue to feel better and stronger.

I felt better Saturday and even better Sunday. However, I seem to have overdone it yesterday and am not feeling very good again today. Time to take good care of myself. The good news is I've lost 2 pounds so far in the new year! I was even able to get a walk in yesterday. Tonight I may do some strength training. Hopefully I will feel better tomorrow.

Well, I started off the new year with 8.5 pounds to lose. I lost .5 yesterday. Losing 2 pounds a week, I could be at goal by 1/31. I'd like to get to goal and be able to figure out how to maintain my weight loss in 2010! I've been sick since before Christmas and would really like to get healthy again. I'm feeling a bit better today so I'm going to get ready to get out of the house and hopefully fit in a bit of exercise today, even if it's just walking around the mall.

I shed 2 of those 3 pounds yesterday! I ate light and healthy and worked out hard at the gym for 30 minutes. I would really like to be at goal weight by New Years so I can start off the new year in maintenance mode. With 5.5 pounds to go, it would be difficult, but possible. Today I would like to stay within my calorie range and do strength training.

Woo hoo! I'm back under 140! 139.5 to be exact. 4.5 pounds to goal and I leave for Maui in 2 days. I probably won't quite make it, but I'm happy to be within 5 pounds again. I'm such a procrastinator. I'm going to strength train tonight and hopefully get in some yoga too. I'm so excited to be going to the beach! Hopefully I'll look okay.

I think I need to quit thinking about being perfect for 12 days and just do my best one day at a time, one decision at a time. I took my kids to the doctor yesterday and the doctor put my oldest on a diet and we have to go twice a week for blood pressure tests. I need to do my very best to be a good example for him and to help him succeed.

Tuesday night I went visit teaching and came home to mac and cheese with hamburger. For some reason, I just couldn't get enough. Then, because I'd blown it, I kept eating all night long. Luckily, I only gained half a pound. Yesterday I just wasn't hungry and didn't eat much, got in 20 minutes on the elliptical, and lost 3 pounds. Today is a new day. I am getting back on track and I WILL do my strength training! According to SP, I should be able to reach my goal weight by November 30, quite an improvement from December 13! 2 of the 3 days of my healthy streak have been quite successful. 9 days to go!

I got sick during my healthy steak and dropped everything healthy altogether, resulting in a 6 pound weight gain. It is time to get back on track and lose as much as possible before leaving for Maui on the 21st. According to SP, it will take me until December 13th to reach my goal weight. However, I am going to try my best to get to goal by the 21st. That's only 12 days away. I am beginning my 12 day healthy streak effective immediately! I will get in some cardio today and track my calories.

Day 2 of 9 was also a success. I left work early and went to the gym for a good 50 minute cardio workout. My mom's birthday dinner was nice and I was able to make fairly good decisions at the buffet. I almost went over my calories, but I didn't. That piece of apple cobbler may not have been necessary but it sure was good. My plan for today is to get in some strength training, eat right, and enjoy my Saturday. I plan to get in some cardio since it is Saturday and I should have time.

Day 1 of 9 was a success. I did strength training with my Wii Fit trainer. I actually didn't eat quite 1200 calories because I had such bad heartburn from pigging out too much. However, it was close and I wasn't hungry and I lost 2 pounds so that's okay. I stopped eating by 8, drank plenty of water, and got enough sleep. Today is my mom's birthday so we'll be eating out at a buffet to celebrate. My plan is to get in some cardio before and/or after dinner and to eat lots of fruits and vegetables first at dinner and stop eating when I'm full.

I feel like a yo-yo. I've been pigging out this week. Work has been extremely stressful. I've decided that I am going to spend the next 9 days before Halloween kicking my butt and getting back on track. I will post here every day to record my progress. My plan is to do some sort of physical activity every day, cardio, strength, yoga, etc. I will also track calories consumed and stop eating by 8pm. I will drink at least 8 cups of water daily and get 8 hours of sleep a night. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it!

I did pretty good yesterday too. I went home and cleaned out the refrigerator, ate pretty healthy, did laundry, and did my strength training. I didn't get in any cardio, but I plan to squeeze it in today. I lost half a pound yesterday. Not bad. I'm struggling with allergies at the moment, but hopefully they will go away soon. I plan to stay very active this weekend so I can post much better results Monday morning.

I did great yesterday and lost 2.5 pounds! Back down to 141. I need to keep the momentum going so I can get back where I need to be! I ate within my range yesterday and did 50 minutes of fairly high intensity cardio. Tonight is Survivor and I plan to do strength training during commercials. I'd also like to try to fit in some more cardio after work so I can continue to see progress on the scale.

So, Friday, October 9 I stayed home from work with my kids and let my youngest have a friend over since there was no school. They all wanted to go to DQ for a blizzard so we went and I ate one. That started a 5 day binge in which I gained 5.5 pounds. I am putting an end to it right now! But why on earth did it have to come to this? All that progress...gone. I was within 2 pounds of goal, and now I've got 8.5 to go. Hopefully I can lose them quickly. It's amazing how fast they come and how difficult to go.

I stuck to my plan last night and am still at the same weight. That is okay. It doesn't bother me like it used to. It'll come off. It's probably better for my body to lose it slowly. Tonight is scout night, which I'm totally unprepared for. However, I'll get it done and then enjoy some stress relieving gym time.

Somehow my weight went up to 139 yesterday, but it's back down to 137.5 today so I am happy. I was able to post a 3 pound loss for the week! With only 2.5 to go, I'm feeling pretty positive. Of course, I have come to learn that keeping it off is definitely the hard part! I'm ready to give it another try.

My TOM week is over and the weight is dropping off! I've lost 3.5 pounds in the last 3 days. Woo hoo! I'm enjoying getting exercise, I'm eating pretty good, drinking lots of water, and the sun is shining. Life is good. I hope to post a great loss Monday on my Biggest Loser challenge. I'm also approaching my goal of 135. Only 2.5 pounds to go! I know I can definitely do it by Halloween!

I've got allergies from heck and I feel like crap and I just want to go home...I did lose half a pound yesterday to end the week with a 2 pound loss, so that is good. I don't know what I'll be able to do today. I just want to feel better.

I gained a pound! How the heck did that happen? I exercised like crazy, did my strength training, and ate right and everything! Today is usually a rest day but I will do some bike riding and hopefully tomorrow's weigh in will be better.

I lost a quarter of a pound yesterday so I'm back at 140. It could have been a lot worse! I was at a birthday party and skipped the cake and ice cream. Then we went to DQ and I didn't order anything. However, I did finish my son's blizzard, which is probably why I didn't lose more than a quarter of a pound. I didn't get any exercise yesterday because I had no extra time, so I will double my efforts today and do cardio in addition to my strength training.

Well, I gained a quarter of a pound. Who knows why? I think it's one of those unexplainable daily variations that cause a lot of people to weigh less often. I did my strength training yesterday and ate pretty good so I just need to keep up the good work. I did have a bag of popcorn which I meant to finish before 8, but didn't quite make it. That's something that I can continue to work on. I plan to stay on track this weekend. Wish me luck!

Another pound bites the dust! I'm at 140, back to deal with those last 5 pounds again. And NOT pregnant! Phew! So excited to almost be back in the 130s. I will do strength training tonight during Survivor commercials. I'm planning to cook halibut and summer squash from the garden tonight for dinner. Good and healthy!

Wow, 2 pounds down just like that! I'm at 141 this morning! Yippee! All the hard work does pay off...eventually...I think the trick may have been exercising differently than normal. I worked out on the elliptical yesterday, which I haven't done in a long time. I also ate healthy and did strength training. Still no period...pregnant? Wish I knew! 6 pounds to go!

I didn't do any cardio yesterday and I gained half a pound. Back on track today. I hope to do cardio and strength today. I'm either about to start my period or pregnant (highly unlikely), so losing is especially difficult at the moment. Never give up! I'll get there. 8 pounds to go by Halloween.

I started a biggest loser competition today. I'm hoping it helps keep me on track, especially during the weekends! This weekend was okay. I weigh the same today as I did Friday morning. That is definitely better than gaining. I'm glad it's Monday and I can get back on some sort of schedule. I'm going to try to get in some cardio today, probably stationary biking at home.

Yesterday went much better. I went for a 60 minute walk, included a little jogging, ate well and lost 1.25 pounds. I never did get to the strength training though. I will do it today. I ate a few candies and some kettle corn, yet stayed within my calorie range. I'm learning moderation. Yay!

I blew it last night. I got overly hungry and pigged out at dinner which hubby made and wasn't very healthy. Then he had to bring up Dairy Queen blizzards. I couldn't get them off my mind so had one of those too. However, I finished eating by 8 and avoided the candy on top of the refrigerator. I also didn't get any exercise yesterday. Today is a new day though! I will eat right, exercise, do my strength training and get back on track.

And another one down! I stuck to my plan yesterday and I'm feeling great! Today my youngest is home sick so I need to keep busy and out of the refrigerator. So far, it has not been a problem. Today is cardio day so I hope to do something besides walking, perhaps some time on the elliptical or the stationary bike. I'll figure out something. I've lost 4 pounds in the last 3 days. I'd like to see it continue, but I know it won't last forever.

Another pound bites the dust! The ellipticals were too busy so I bit the bullet and ran on the treadmill. I honestly didn't think I could do it, but I did! I'm a bit sore this morning, but not too bad. My plan for tonight is to get in a 30 minute walk and do my strength training during Survivor. I believe the premier is tonight.

Well, I'm back up to 146.5 and I'm NOT happy about it! I've set a goal to lose 11.5 pounds by Halloween. That is slightly less than 2 pounds a week, a very reasonable goal. Biggest Loser starts again tonight so I'm hoping that will help motivate me. I've joined a Biggest Loser challenge here on Sparks to help as well. I've done it before. I know I can do it again.

Well, I ate more and gained 4.5 pounds! I guess I went a little overboard. I also tried to vary my exercise...from some to none. That hasn't been working for me. Time to get back on track. It's going to be a little harder now that the kids are back, but I can do it. I can be a good example!

Plateaus suck! I'm doing great. I'm eating right, exercising, drinking water, and not losing a thing... I'm going to try to eat just a little bit more in case I'm not getting enough calories. I'm speechless. I ate perfectly (1200 calories), I exercised like crazy (strength, walk, gardening), and gained half a pound. Any ideas? Anyone? I was REALLY expecting a good loss this morning! Anyway, I know that I just need to keep going and it will come off eventually. I do feel great, more toned and energetic. I'll just keep trying...

I did pretty good yesterday and lost the half pound that I gained the day before so I'm back at 138.5. I only have 3.5 more to go to be at goal! Tonight I am going to make sure I do my strength training since I skipped it yesterday. However, I did do a great workout at the gym yesterday so I'm not too disappointed. I'll eat healthy today, do my strength training, fit in some cardio or some yoga and continue on my way to 135!

Lesson: When your husband dishes up a plate at dinner and it's huge so you set it at his place at the table, DON'T EAT IT ALL! He said, "You take the bigger piece." I did, but shouldn't have. Besides having no energy, being hungry all day, and eating too much at dinner, yesterday was a pretty good day. I went for a walk after dinner and went to bed on time so I could get some sleep. I feel much better today and will eat very healthy and get plenty of exercise and see some progress tomorrow!

Ah hah! The reason I was only losing half a pound for a few days was because I was about to start my TOM. I lost 1.5 pounds Saturday! AND I'm in the 130s! Woo hoo! That just goes to show that if you stay consistent and hang in there, the weight WILL come off. This is the first weekend in an extremely long time that I lost weight, and on both days. I'm so proud of myself. Consistency really works. Hopefully I can keep it up. I've only got 3.5 pounds until I'm back at goal. I know I can do it.

Sometimes, when we don't feel like exercising, that's when we really need to. Then we feel so much better and we're glad we did it! Good luck! I had another good day yesterday. I knew we were going to the Outback for dinner so I went on their website, planned everything out, and followed through. Yay! I also got in a good walk after work and before dinner. I lost another half a pound. I think I'm going to have to fight for each and every ounce until I get to goal. I've been doing everything perfectly as far as I can tell and only losing half a pound, compared to 1.5 to 3 pounds I saw earlier. I know the half is much more realistic and still extremely good. It's just such a change from my ridiculous earlier progress. I'm 1 pound away from the 130s! Woo hoo!

Wow, great day yesterday! I had put on a few pounds and didn't think I could run very good, but I did it! I did my strength as well as running, elliptical and rowing yesterday. I think my poor body is in shock. I felt pretty nauseous towards the end and I only lost half a pound. Good, but surprising that I didn't lose more. Perhaps it was the salty smoked tuna I had with dinner? Anyways, I'm getting so close to the 130s I can almost taste it! I hope to keep the streaks alive through the weekend and continue to shed these pesky pounds.

Thanks for the encouragement ladies! Yesterday was another good day. In fact, I think it was the first time ever I wasn't over or under on something that I track with the nutrition tracker. I also got in a good walk. I lost 1.5 pounds and am happy to be on a good streak of 2 days! Still trying to build some consistency! Hopefully today I will find a way to get to the gym for some cardio in addition to my strength training. Keep on keeping on Sparkers!

Hi I have struggled to lose 7 lbs for a long time but since I joined Spark People and started to log everything I eat and my exercise, I have lost 3 of the defiant 7 lbs. I am now optimistic about the remaining 4 lbs.

I've got a lot farther to go than you do, but I wanted to give you a word of encouragement. You are working so hard and sometimes it probably seems like "what is the point?" but you will soon hit that combination that takes the next 5 to 10 pounds away and you will look back on this tough plateau you've been on and wonder why you ever worried.
