Ugh, I gained 6 pounds since writing last. My weekend went okay, but then I got sick again and started antibiotics for a sinus infection and totally lost my motivation to do anything but eat. The antibiotics will be gone tomorrow and I need to get back on track. I plan to go to the gym tonight after work and then I need to stop eating after dinner! I will get back on track because I refuse to give up!

Wouldn't it be something if I could stay on track all weekend? I went to Curves yesterday, ate right, and lost another half a pound. Last weekend I was good and lost a pound. I am going to try to do the same thing this weekend. I am going to exercise, eat healthy, get extra sleep, and have a wonderful weigh in on Monday morning!

My back on track plan seems to be working! I lost 2 pounds yesterday and made it to Curves today. I just need to stay consistent and not let myself get back off track!

Well, that didn't go as planned. I lost 1 pound over the weekend, but I'm still up 2.5 pounds since my last post 6 days ago. Argh! Just when you think you have things under control! Back to work I go. I'm going to the gym tonight and will try to get to Curves tomorrow. No more peer pressure cake and ice cream runs!

I don't know how I did it, but somehow I pulled it off and was able to fit in my 60 minute workout at the gym and still take care of my other responsibilities. I was pretty exhausted by the time I got home, but I sure slept well! I am down another 1.5 pounds this morning. Yay! Today is less busy but I still have a lot going on. I hope to fit in some exercise, but if not, I got plenty yesterday. I'm getting used to eating healthier and feeling better so I plan to stay on the right track!

I slept so much better and I'm feeling better after not overeating and getting to bed on time last night. The scale showed a half pound loss this morning. I thought it would be more, but I'm NOT complaining! I have been struggling with stress due to having too many things that I have to do lately. I'm trying to plan enough so that I can fit everything in, but something always seems to happen to mess it up. I made myself a priority last night and made it to Curves despite someone messing up my plans. I had to forgo something else, but the choice was mine and I was happy with it. Tonight is my workout night and an hour meeting has been added during my usual workout time. I've arranged for someone else to pick up my child and deliver him to me, saving about 30 minutes. I'm hoping to hustle with everything and try to fit it all in!

I did get outside for a walk in the sun yesterday and it was great! Everything was going so well, and then I was so tired and I didn't want to go to sleep at 8 so I ate ice cream and chips. At least my weight didn't go up, but I was hoping for a decrease in weight this morning! I need to remember to take time to get enough sleep on the weekends so I'm not so wiped out on Monday. I was just informed that after my 3 pound loss last week, I am leading the challenge at work! Yay! I've got to get my rear in gear and stay consistent so I don't lose my number 1 spot! Today I hope to get to Curves for some long overdue strength training. If I can prevent myself from eating too much tonight after I get home, I should be in much better shape tomorrow.

Well, my weekend was super busy and I didn't do as well as I hoped, but I was fitting back into my clothes yesterday morning before I erased the previous 3 days progress by going on an eating spree. I wish I hadn't done that, but I'm just going to get right back to work and have another good week. I weighed in this morning and lost 3 pounds for the week, despite yesterday's binge. Since today is probably going to be the last sunny day until who knows when, I'm hoping to meet my hubby for a nice walk outside after work today. I haven't been getting nearly as much exercise as I would like. I think I need to make sure to Spark a bit next weekend so I don't lose focus again.

I had hoped to fit in some exercise yesterday, but wasn't able to. However, I cooked a good healthy dinner for my family and my super picky child loved it! Thank you SP for the dinner idea! I was very happy to weigh myself this morning and to see half a pound gone after losing 2 the day before. I half expected my weight to go up a bit. Today is Friday. The weekend begins! I am going to try super hard to make healthy choices this weekend since I'm almost fitting back into my clothes and I have a weigh in on Monday morning. My plan is to get a workout in at Curves today and/or a walk with my hubby.

I totally agree! I went to the gym yesterday and was able to jog for 4 minutes until my heart rate went too high. The previous week I was only able to jog for 3 minutes. The improvement was so exciting to me! I felt like I could do anything. It makes me want to keep exercising for sure. I burned 600 calories at the gym yesterday according to my heart rate monitor, only ate 965 calories, and lost 2 pounds! I know that I should have eaten more and that I should lose it more gradually, but seeing that lower number on the scale this morning was so motivating! I am enjoying the journey back to a healthier me.

Thanks, I definitely think I'm on the right track. I wasn't able to fit in much activity yesterday, but I did get to bed early and I'm feeling better today. I'm down another half a pound. My plan for today is to get to the gym for a good cardio workout right after work and continue with the healthy eating and adequate sleep.

Yesterday was much better. I ate within my calorie range, took a walk with my husband and drank 9 cups of water. I went to bed at a decent hour, but woke up SO tired. I've been sick a lot lately and I think I need to try to get a little extra sleep for a bit in order to get my health back. My goal for today is to continue eating better, drink plenty of water, try really hard to get in some activity and get to bed by 9:30. Unfortunately, that may not be achievable since I have an appointment at 4 right after work. Then I am going to help someone move around 6. I'm not sure I'll be able to fit in dinner!

It has been a tough winter. I was sick for my birthday and am up 3 more pounds to 148.5 today. I haven't been working out and my fitness level has plummeted. I used to jog for over 15 minutes and now I can't even go 3! It is so sad. However, I have done it before so I know that I can do it again. I just need to do my best to eat better, fit in some exercise, drink a lot of water, and get enough sleep. It sounds so simple, right? Easier said than done, but I'm always up for a challenge!

My mood has been good, my weight, not so much. I am at 145.5 today, up 5 pounds from my previous post. I stressed out over the holidays, was crazy busy, then was sick for 3 weeks. My energy came back 3 days ago so I decided to get in a workout. I am so sore, but getting a little better. I'm hoping to feel okay enough to workout again tomorrow. I've got to get some of this excess weight off!

The experiment was over Friday. My weight went up 4.5 pounds since my last post and has been up since then. However, I was feeling more empowered and happier in general so I decided not to call the doctor. Now I'm going to try to enjoy the holidays without gaining too much weight!

I am now on day 4 of my 1 week experiment and have lost 3.5 pounds! I am also feeling happier. I was able to take some time to myself over the weekend and reflect on life a bit. It's amazing what a 30 minute walk with a dead ipod can do! I've been making exercise a higher priority and feeding myself smaller amounts of healthier foods. I'm cautiously optimistic that I can get better without a doctor's help. I still have half my experimental week to go so I guess time will tell.

Thanks for the encouragement! Day 1 of my 1 week experiment was pretty successful. According to the scale this morning, I lost 2 pounds yesterday! I ate healthier and stopped eating after dessert. I didn't get any exercise, but not eating a bunch of junk right before bed time helped me sleep a lot better! I'm also feeling a little more upbeat and optimistic which is very encouraging!

i wish you luck! I started reading your messages and had to laugh. I have a 13 yr old also, a husband out of town alot, and I've been trying to lose 10-20 pesky pounds for years - 13 (almost 14) years, in fact. Congrats on losing from the 160's - good luck getting to where you want to be - and feeling better.

*Sigh* I haven't been doing as much as I should be to get back on track and am currently only half a pound less than I was the day of my last post. I set up a chart and made myself and my husband a promise that I would do everything I can this week to get healthier. If I'm not feeling much better by next Friday, I am going to call my doctor and set up an appointment. I'm afraid I just don't feel like myself lately and if I can't fix it after doing everything I possibly can, I need to get some help. Hopefully it will be a great week! Wish me luck...

Well, I'm afraid I let myself go for awhile there. I was down to 135.5 the day my husband left for a hunting trip. My weight has gone up steadily since then. I am 4 pounds heavier today, 9 days later. I missed him a lot and ate quite a bit to soothe myself and spent a lot of time with my 13 year old instead of exercising. My husband has been such a good example with his eating habits. I need to stop eating so much crap and get back on track for the benefit of all of us. I'm afraid I've been a terrible example for my teenager. : (

I was able to sneak off for a much needed 30 minute walk yesterday and felt SO much better! Unfortunately I ate way too much late last night, but the scale stayed the same so that was a pleasant surprise. Determined to make today a better day, I've fit in 30 minutes at Curves and eaten healthy so far. Thank goodness it's Saturday! Hopefully I can fit in some more exercise some time today and continue eating healthy. My body is sure grateful when I do!

I was not able to fit in any exercise yesterday and boy can I tell a difference. I'm not nearly as smiley today. However, I am eating better and can tell the difference in how my body feels. I'm on the right track. I just need to make exercise a priority as much as possible. I'm hoping I can figure out a way to fit it in today after work. Unfortunately, this week has been full of appointments. Yesterday was the orthodontist and school conference. Today is a meeting. I'll just keep trying. Happy Friday!!

Going to the gym was a very good idea. I felt so much better afterwards! I worked out for an hour and still had energy to swim for a few minutes and then go play some basketball! The dinner I ate between was disgusting, but at least I didn't gain any weight and learned not to eat that again! I'm also glad that I'm not nauseous or about to pass out today! I hope to find the time to exercise today but that's going to be tough with all my appointments today. I'd really like to keep exercising because it really seems to be helping.

Yesterday was a fairly good day. I didn't have much of an appetite and the scale reflected a 1.5 pound loss, but I'm sure the lack of appetite won't last long. I was able to get to Curves, though I felt weak and not very energetic. I finished my workout and did my best. Hopefully I will get stronger. I had to sit down in the shower several times this morning to prevent myself from passing out. That can't be good. Maybe it's about time to see my doctor? Today's plan is to work out at the gym right after work and then play basketball with my young women. Hopefully I will have my energy back by then. I'm desperate to keep exercising and try to pull myself out of this funk I've been in.

Sheesh, a month has passed already! My weight has consistently been less than 140 for 2 weeks now, but mostly because I've been nauseous for over 2 weeks now and no, I'm not pregnant. Life has just been so difficult for the last 3 months or so. I'll feel like I've finally started getting my feet under me and something else comes and knocks me over! Back to basics I guess. I'm starting to struggle with depression a bit and need to face it head on and deal with it. Nothing helps as fast and as thoroughly as good nutrition and plenty of exercise! I would still like to lose those 5 pesky pounds, but at this time my mental health is my top priority. You know what they say, "If momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy!"

Wow, okay, it's been almost 3 months since I've written. I haven't been on SP much and have gained some weight. I told myself I didn't want to ever be in the 140s again, but here I am at 140.5. Not for long! I am tired of consoling myself with food. I NEED to exercise! I went to Curves for 30 minutes, walked for 35 minutes, ran for 15 minutes, and went rock climbing for 90 minutes so far today! I have been SO frustrated at not being able to exercise much during the week. I am going to sit down this weekend and come up with a plan so I can be more consistent. Life has been extremely difficult, but not exercising has not been helping. Thanks to anyone who reads this. Good luck to you and good luck to me!

I followed through with my plan and the scale reflected a 2 pound loss this morning! I'm still 2.5 pounds above last week's weigh in, but I've got a last chance workout planned tonight and I am going to do my best to lose what I can! I am going to eat healthy and clean up the house and hope all my hard work pays off tomorrow.

Well, crap! I gained another half a pound, due to stress, lack of time for exercise, eating out, being hungry, etc. NO MORE EXCUSES!!! Tonight I am going to go to Curves for my usual Tuesday workout. Then I'm going to go for a nice mindful walk. And I am going to eat right! Tomorrow I am going to get in a good hour long cardio workout at the gym and eat right and hopefully I will have undone some of the damage before weigh in on Thursday morning.

I did so great the first week of the challenge. My weight went from 143 to 137. Then I found out that my 19 year old who has been looking for a job for over a year, finally got one! He started today. We just had to go celebrate! One evening of celebration turned into 3 days and resulted in a gain of 4.5 pounds. Today I take my younger son to the airport to go to his dad's across the country for the summer. I'm hoping I can stick to plan and avoid more emotional eating. I hope to get those 4.5 pounds back off within the next 3 days.

I am super excited to be starting a Biggest Loser challenge tomorrow. I am in desperate need of help building consistency and I think it will be just the answer I need. I've gained some weight over the past 5 days, but I am totally going to take it back off starting tomorrow.

Ugh! The weekend did me in. No, that's not true. I actually did really well Friday, Saturday and Sunday. However, Monday I gained 2 pounds and yesterday I gained 3! Monday's excuse was it was a holiday. Yesterday's excuse was a crappy day at work. I didn't track my food eaten either day. You would think I would know better than that by now. I need to be more vigilant and make sure I track everything EVERY day and keep my goals in the front of my mind!

I am still on track, completed my Curves workout yesterday, ate healthy and lost another pound. I woke up super cranky today. I'm wondering if part of that is due to not eating quite enough calories for my recent activity level. I only ate 1157 calories yesterday and a little over 1200 the previous 2 days. I haven't felt hungry though. Perhaps I was cranky because I haven't been sleeping great and my kids were too noisy this morning. Either way, I hope to continue eating healthy and exercising through the holiday weekend. Hopefully I will be able to catch up on sleep a bit too!

I followed through with my plan, had a good workout at the gym and lost another 2.5 pounds yesterday! That's 5 pounds in 2 days! Woo hoo!! Tonight after work I will go to Curves and hopefully not lose 2.5 pounds. That might be a bit much. I love to see the results of my efforts, but I want to be healthy!

I am off to a great start! I ate within my calorie range yesterday, got a good workout in at Curves, and according to the scale, lost 2.5 pounds! Today I hope to get to the gym for some good cardio.

I am at the highest weight I've been since 8/9/2012. Since starting SparkPeople, I lost over 30 pounds and have gained back more than 12. I think that is so sad. I've worked so hard to get healthy, lower my cholesterol, and get fit. How can I just give up and not care now? I could list off a whole bunch of reasons I've given myself in the past, but none are good enough. I know that I am worth the effort it takes to get back to my healthy eating and exercise habits. I've got to remember all the benefits I get by doing so: more energy, stronger, happier, fewer aches and pains, more confidence, and last but not least, the nicer figure and the pride. I'm done letting my good habits fall by the wayside. I am going to make myself a priority again!

I've been staying on track! I wasn't able to get to the gym yesterday, but I did spend a lot of time outside in the sunshine doing yard work and gardening. I shed another half a pound. Tonight I won't be able to get to Curves because my son has a program at school, but I hope to fit in a good walk and/or jog.

I got my rear in gear yesterday and got back on track. I drank lots of water (10 cups), ate within my calorie range, exercised (cardio and strength at Curves), had a good night sleep, and lost a pound and a half! Now I really need to be consistent and keep it up!

My weekend was way too busy and I didn't track like I should have and I gained the 2 pounds I lost earlier in the week. Today is a new day and the beginning of a new week. I haven't lost until I give up and I'm not giving up! Practice makes perfect and I'll just keep practicing until I get it right! That's about as inspirational as I can be at the moment. ;) Thanks for your post, though. It's kind of inspiring. At least we know we are not alone.

This is my constant struggle. Trying to lose the last 5 lbs, only to lose 2 and gain them right back. Looking for some serious motivation to help get me there. My main problem is the eating.

Hoping to get some inspiration here :)

My journey continues...I followed through with my plan (for the most part) and lost another half a pound yesterday. I was tired and cranky when I got home and felt hungry so I had a little ice cream. It was an extremely busy day and I didn't get to bed on time either. Hopefully I'll be able to relax and get some rest this weekend. Ha ha, yeah right! I've been asked to babysit after work tonight. I have plans to go the temple with my family tomorrow. Sunday I have 3 hours of church. And somewhere in there I want to get my garden planted! At least I will be too busy to eat all weekend!

I appreciate the encouragement! I came up with a plan, created a chart, and shed a pound yesterday. I'm on my way! Today I'll eat right, log it, and exercise at Curves. It will be a great day!

Life got crazy again and my good habits went right out the window. I need to come up with a plan, and fast! I've gained 2.5 pounds since my post on Friday. I'm eating too much and not exercising enough. I'm going to continue to try to get back on track and figure out a way to stay on track. I am going to stick to my healthy eating plan today and go to the gym after work. Hopefully I can turn things around!

Since my last post, I got a good workout in at Curves, ate at the low end of my calorie range, and lost another pound. The back and hip pain I had been having are all but gone and I am feeling optimistic. Unfortunately, in the middle of my busy schedule, I locked my keys in my car last night and didn't get enough sleep after getting everything taken care of. Thank goodness it's Friday and I can try to rest up a bit!

I ate better yesterday, got in a good workout at the gym, had a little too much junk food when I got home, but still lost 1 pound. My back and hips feel better, my mood is better, and I am SO glad that I got my rear in gear! Now to keep up the good work and continue exercising, eating right, and feeling better!

There are a LOT of people that weigh daily and a lot of people that don't. It works for some, doesn't for others. I find it to be very useful as a tool to help me monitor my progress or lack thereof. It is especially useful after reaching goal weight and trying to figure out how to maintain. It has been recommended on this site as a maintenance tool. People who weigh daily are more successful than those who don't. I can definitely say that I do much better when I do than when I don't. I have struggled a lot lately. I had a miscarriage a month and a half ago. My hormones have been a mess. Along with several other difficult family issues lately, I am totally off track and intend to weigh daily to help myself get healthy again. For some it is frustrating, for me it is motivating. I will admit that I've considered the fact that I might be a bit obsessive at times, however, if you read the title of this journal, it makes sense that it would sound that way if taken out of context. I honestly don't think I deserve to be judged as "obsessed about my weight". I would very much prefer to weigh every day, stay motivated, lose the weight, and get healthy again, than to be how I am right now, sad, uncomfortable, discouraged, and unhealthy. Since beginning my journey about 6 years ago, I've lost a total of about 30 pounds. I've recently gained back 10. I plan to get back on track and lose those 10 pounds again so that I can feel good about myself again.

Hi! I have been looking at your thread about losing those last 5 lbs.
I appreciate how hard it has been for you, but I really think you should not weigh yourself so often, it seems to be something that keeps you obsessed about your weight, and I really don't think that is healthy.
Maybe your should try weighing yourself once a week. Lets say, for example, every Monday morning...
Don't your think that is the right thing to do?

I did fairly well during the week until a tough day got me down and I overate last night. I have been in the 130s since the 20th! Yay! I must keep up the good work and hopefully will continue the downward trend through the weekend.

Today is my 40th birthday! I am spending it weighing more than I would like, but at least I'm under 140, barely. I took the day off work and went to the gym and am going to try to make my 40th year as healthy as possible!

I gained half a pound since my last post, but I've been exercising and feeling better. I just need to get my eating back under control. That is what the nutrition tracker is for, right?

Well, I lost a pound on the 13th, gained 4 pounds Valentine's Day, went on vacation again and gained 4.5 more, finally got back from vacation and started to get back on track yesterday and lost 1.5. I need to lose an additional 7.5 to get back to goal weight. Apparently I am a very volatile maintainer! I'm trying to get my spark back and be more consistent. Maybe I'll just stop taking vacations. That should help! My birthday is in 2 weeks and 1 day. I hope to be in much better shape by then.

According to the scale this morning, I am 1.5 pounds lighter than I was yesterday. I'm halfway back to goal weight! Tonight is my good workout night so we'll see what the scale says tomorrow.

Wow. I gained 3 pounds yesterday. I had a blizzard for snack with my son for Family Home Evening. Then we sat down to watch a movie and I ate a bunch of nuts because my husband keeps them next to the TV and I had been craving them. Then, after the movie, I had two gigantic Safeway cookies and milk with my boys because I had been craving those too. Now I realize that today is Mardi Gras. Hah! No way am I going to participate in Fat Tuesday festivities! I was at goal weight just yesterday morning! I've never participated in giving up something for Lent, but have decided that it would be especially smart to give up the TV this year. Hopefully, by giving up the TV, I will get some stuff done around the house that I normally feel I don't have time for. Hopefully, I will also do much less mindless snacking and be able to stay at goal weight once I get there again!

I have been staying on track, lost another pound and a half, and am 1 pound from goal! My plan is to continue exercising, tracking calories, drinking plenty of water, sleeping enough, and getting back to goal weight by Monday morning! Oh, and to have a great weekend at the same time! Who says I can't have it all?

You can do it. You're doing great.

A day at a time and I will reach my goal. I am not perfect but I will forgive myself for the mistakes I make. Life is full of choices and sometimes we don't always make the best ones but that's what makes us human.

I was doing so well, suffered a couple of emotional frustrations, and am back up 2.5 pounds since my last post. I know I can get back on track. I've just got to get my head back in the game! I lost 4.5 pounds in 3 days and gained 2.5 pounds in the next 3 days. That means I'm still ahead, right?! There's no reason I can't lose 4.5 pounds to get back to goal weight within the next week or so! Eat right, exercise, reward success to stay motivated, and voila!

I am such a good Sparker! I got right back on track and have lost 4.5 pounds in the last 3 days. Only 2 more pounds and I'll be right back to goal weight. No problem! Spark on!

I left for Maui on the 20th and got back yesterday morning. I weighed 130.5 the morning of the 20th and 138.5 this morning. I gained 8 pounds! Yikes! I did not worry about what I was eating and I wasn't getting any challenging exercise. I was with a group of 5 other people and decided to not worry about it and just enjoy myself. It was wonderful. However, I'm not feeling great and I know it is time to get right back to my healthier habits. Aloha!

Of course I'm not upset with you! I agree that he has gone on to a better place and that he gets to see his mom and son again and gets to know his Savior better. I am not sad for him, I am sad for all of us because he was such a good example and we miss his love and his goofy sense of humor! But like my brother and my cousin told me, the best thing we can do is remember the best of him and try to develop those same qualities in ourselves. He will always be part of us and our family. Thank you for all your kind words!

I am so happy to hear that you are a fighter.....and congratulations on looking good and tracking your calories!!! And you are right, you will be okay....there's one more thing that I believe in being a Christian...and I hope you won't be upset with me. By planting the tree, I am also celebrating the new life that my loved one is begining with our Lord and Christ...I believe that they are just leaving the body behind and starting a new journey to build a new life in their true form with our Savior, and the tree is a daily reminder for me to celebrate their new life with God..maybe you can share this experience with your parents too... and celebrate your Grandfather's life here on earth with you and His new life begining in Heaven with his true Father.....and dance a little to his favorite songs.....
God Bless You and Your Precious Family....Love Always Your Sister in Christ Jesus

I sincerely appreciate your thoughtfulness. However, I'm a fighter, always have been, always will be. I made a goal to track every calorie all weekend and get my eating back on track and I did it! I leave for Maui one week from today to join my parents who I had to tell their dad died over the phone. If still necessary, we will cry and pig out when I get there, while looking decent in my swimsuit! I know I'm still a little sad, but I'm going to be okay.

emoticon Well the problem might be that your still dealing with the sorrow of loosing your Grandpa..And maybe I shouldn't encourage this, but give it some though...just one day and only one day...get with someone who can relate to what you are going through and give yourself permission to just let go, pig out, cry and let it all out...the memories, the loss and go buy that tree and plan on a day to plant it with a few special people in his honor or just you and your husband, ask your husband to make a plaque to place in front of the tree with his name on it with his birth and rebirth in God's Grace...
Then Promise me you are going to recommit to your healthy eating in honor of your GrandFather's memory..Okay..I know he would be happy for you to succeed..... emoticon Don't you agree...Love Always Your Sister in Christ Jesus...Jill

Totally agree! I've been exercising both mind and body this week, however, the eating is still not under control. The goal for the weekend is to eat right, exercise, and feel better! Go Seahawks!

emoticon Yes it does count...if we don't exercise our minds as well as our bodies, then what does eating healthy count for? Our minds get dark and thats when we start letting ourselves go...I firmly believe there should be a tracker for excercising our minds. After all a healthy Happy mind leads to a healthy Happy body...and I love doing family trees....

I like that idea! I've been doing family history and working on my family tree. Does that count? For some reason it makes me feel better. I finally got some exercise in last night and ate healthier so I think I'm getting back on track.

I'am sorry for your loss. a grandparent is a big deal..I loved mine dearly..and often think of them. It's ok that you drowned your sorrow, but now it's time to go out and plant a tree in His Honor..that is what I do now when I loose some I care about dearly..something I can care for and look at, watch grow.. It will make you feel so much better and help you get back on track..

Wouldn't you know it! Everything seems perfect, and something just has to happen to mess it all up! My grandpa died suddenly Friday, just after I wrote my last message. I've never lost anyone before and it is not a fun experience. I've been eating a bit extra ever since and have gained 2.5 pounds. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but I haven't been exercising either and I'm starting to feel a bit lost. I know I need to get back to taking better care of myself or I know I won't be any good to anyone. Thank you so much for all your friendly vibes!!

Girl!! You are unstoppable when you are not stressing out so much, about the holidays..And all those ads and advices of how to survive the Holidays..they just get people so worked up to fail. when it is in our nature to celebrate with our families and friends. I have learned a lot over the years about loosing weight and keeping it off..I also know about setting one's self up for failure and Holidays are the easiest way to do that. I was just invited to a challenge to loose a pound a week. For me that would be setting myself up for failure..I have had several surgeries one being brain surgery where I wasn't supposed to survive. But thanks to God I did. I know with my med's that I take that it is difficult for me to loose weight. The doctors know it. So I was put on a medically supervised diet of 900 calories a day to stop me from continuing to gain weight. In a short amount of time I ballooned up to 300 pounds and with their diet dropped and it was not a fast drop let me tell you to 160 pounds. It took 4 1/2 years, but my Doctor passed away with his son in an airplane accident and we moved.. needless to say I let the new Doctor talk me into a new 1500 calorie diet and then people feeling so sorry for me being denied so many foods kept pushing food on me. I gained back 25-28 pounds and that is why I have SP..I want to get my body in a healthier condition. I'm happy even if it is a 1/2 a pound in a month as long as I maintain. I just have to get my unhealthy, disabled body to work with me and that will take time..I love all the encouragement I get from everyone here. And I'm just glad that I can help someone like you, that was being misled.. You are to beautiful and worked to hard not to be given credit...always research weightloss, metabolism. not just here, but WebMD, Mayo Clinic and others..one thing I know for sure there are no magic pills and no quick fixes..I sure as hell don't want any invasive surgery like gastric bypass. Unless you are morbidly obese, I don't think any one should risk that type of surgery, I have had way too many surgeries and know how many complications that can arise from having to have implants of any kind. I certainly hope your better half has taken notice and plans on rewarding you with a beautiful piece of Jewellery...that is always my favorite reward..
emoticon emoticon I know it's not much , but here is a ribbon for your weight loss.. Keep it up Super Spark Girl!!

It does feel great! I lost another pound yesterday. It feels really good to feel in control of my eating and exercise habits. I am hoping to get back to goal weight by New Year's Eve. I'll have to think of resolutions that don't involve weight loss!

emoticon see I told you so..weight is coming off and it feels great, right. I am proud of you..You have got to help turn around this attitude of I screwed up, I'm so off track. So many people set theirself up for failure during the holidays...that it is just beyond me.. After all we are human and it is human nature to celebrate the holidays with the famly and friends. And what do we celebrate with if not food and drink...So we need to plan ahead, we even can make our favorite lo-cal snack trays and take with us and maybe offer to bring a lo-cal Holiday drink for everyone. Trust me it will be appreciated.. After all the more to eat and drink the merrier it will be...Sometimes I will skip my breakfast to save calories and just have a few lo cal snacks through out the day so I can pig out or skip snacking a few days before hand to save up calories for the week.. or save a I got off track and I forgive myself because I know I am going to celebrate today and it is Okay...Tomorrow is a new day and I will be back on track!! emoticon

That's right! There's no better reason to celebrate. I made it to the gym and ate healthy and lost 2.5 pounds. That's 2 days of holiday weight gain! Today I went to Curves and ate healthy so hopefully the weight will continue to come off.

I hope you had a very Merry Christmas! I had a wonderful Christmas. However, I am 7 pounds heavier than I was exactly 1 week ago. I need to get my rear back in gear! I hope to hit the gym tonight. I'm afraid 3 desserts a day and no exercise just does not work when trying to stay healthy. Bummer.

Were having a lot of wind and that little tiny rain that blows in with it. The Dr. says to keep it kinda of warm in the house. But your husband is right certain ordors does caose flair ups..even when using the oven, certain baking degrees, my husband has to do it. It will absolutely take my breathe away and I'll start choking until I break open a door and the inhaler. Some of the relatives tease him and call him my House Bitch...I just tell them they are jealous they are not B.eautiful I.ntelligent T.alented C.harming H.onest and can't get one as good as mine...I have had him 34 years and as ill as I have been I am thankfull to God that he is still here. But if you are trying to figure out your ideal body weight, they have websites to help you do that. They will use your height, current weight to figure it and your BMI. When I went weight watchers they cut it close to the vest. I'm 5ft 2 in and was told 102Lb.s - 115Lb.s which I thought was a little too low. As I have big breasts and when I was thin I always weighed in at 118 - 124Lb.s and never wore over a size 7. I was quite happy at that size. At this time in my Life I would be happy at 130-135 Lb.s I think this paper thin attitude is over rated and not healthy. After all our bodys were made to change and adapt for child birth. Some where along the line somebody forgot that. sorry for rambling on. Let me know how your husbands asthma gets..I think these storms are to blame also for bringing in some extra trash in the air.

I agree! Live and learn. I got my butt back on track and lost the weight that I had gained. I'm back to 131. I'm trying to figure out what my goal weight should be. Originally it was 135, then 133, and now I'm thinking 131? Who knows where I'll end up for sure! I know, pretty nice problem to have, huh... I hope you feel better soon! My husband is having asthma pretty bad right now. He kept telling me he's very allergic to potpouri (sp?), but I have this Christmas pot that is so adorable so I plugged it in out in the garage and it still bothered him in the house! I guess I'll take it to work with me. Any idea why you are having trouble?

I too need to watch what I'm eating in the evening. I haven't been feeling well, so I havent really been eating all that I should in the day time. So when it comes to dinner I've been having seconds the last couple of days. I have to be accountable for me and step up and manage my days better. I just never knew having asthma could kick your butt so bad!!! When does it get under control???

I've been letting things slide a little bit too much and have gained a few pounds. I'm in the process of getting back on track. I got in a workout today and stopped eating after dinner. I've got to keep up the good habits and get rid of the bad ones!

emoticon Have you thought about just adding an extra 10 minutes to your workout or beefing up the vacuuming, I like to take everything off the coffe table when I dust put on music and to side to side leg-ercises, dance with the vacuum. I put on old socks to dry the floor after mopping. It's like skating. Even open the back door we have a small step down and I'll use it for step aerobics. My husband thinks I'm nuts. emoticon

I'm sorry to hear that you are struggling. When my husband and I are having problems, I find that I stay really busy and usually don't eat much and get plenty of exercise. It's amazing how much I accomplish! I ate pretty good yesterday and the scale showed a 1.5 pound loss this morning! I'm feeling much better. I ate at the upper end of my weight loss range and at the lower end of my maintenance range. It's funny how different our bodies are. What works for some does not always work for others. I think it's important to listen to our bodies and eat when we're hungry and stop when we're full. I'm going to get to Curves after work and add in some exercise after not getting any for the last 5 days. I've noticed that not only does exercise help me lose weight, often it is a bit of an appetite suppressant as well. Bonus! 2 more pounds and I'll be back at goal weight.

emoticon I too have been battling food, just the caloric amount spark people set for me. I gave it a try and regained 4 pounds. I kinda knew that I would. But thought maybe they knew something I didn't. With that said, now I'm going to do what my Dr. suggested. I did take the laptop and let her look over the meal plan and she suggest modifying it. No more than 1200 calories a day until I reach I my goal weight. But right now I'm not just battling food, but my emotions as well. My husband and I are on a roller coaster right, but that's one for the history books. But...We can do this, if we lean on each other and our Spark Friends, We can and We Will Get Back On Track...

It has been 10 days since I've last written and I'm afraid I'm 3 pounds heavier. I did okay on Thanksgiving, but I've been eating leftovers like crazy ever since. The funny thing is, I don't even really like turkey, stuffing, and gravy all that much. The apple pie has been my biggest struggle. However, it is gone now and I am trying to get back to my usual diet and exercise plan. From experience, I know that those 3 pounds come off pretty quick once I get back on track.

emoticon Right now you probaly feeling comfortable at your current weight and your battling with your subconcious mind telling you that a few snacks here and there won't hurt. I think alot of us go through that at first. This is when we sabotage our own weight loss. Just remind yourself that you have worked to hard to get where you want to be. Now it's up to you to start living a new you, a healthier you, a thinner you. And you are not going to fall back into old habits of snacking late at night. emoticon emoticon together we'll find a way. Next you get the urge for a snac at at night, try having a nice glass of perrier, water with lime or your favorite fruit, wait 30 minutes after having the water and if your still wanting something then choose something low in calories like grapes, an orange, carrots ect. or call a favorite diet buddy to talk you down like AA. Trust me when I was taking Depakote for seizures I couldn't stop eating, I had to call my mom. I would eat until I was sick. Good luck. I Know you can do this. Just Look at what you have done.already.

I've had a hard time sleeping lately and have been eating too many calories right before bed. I need to work on that. I am half a pound above goal weight at the moment, which is pretty good. I would like to get back down a bit though. I had such a great weekend last weekend. I hope to repeat it this weekend! I will eat healthy and exercise every day and hopefully I will maintain my weight at 133 or below throughout the weekend. That's my plan and I'm sticking to it!

I did it! I got in my Wednesday workout on Friday, ate healthy, and lost 2.5 pounds by Saturday morning! I gained half a pound by Sunday morning, lost half a pound by Monday morning, and slipped a bit with my eating and exercising Monday resulting in a 1 pound gain. However, my weekend was, without a doubt, a success! It can be done! Despite my 1 pound gain yesterday, I am still half a pound under goal weight! It was not easy, but it was doable, and it was worth it! I am proud. I am back to my normal routine today after Veteran's Day off work yesterday. It is going to be a good week.
