Okay, before you say anything, I'm well aware, don't weigh more than once a week. Don't depend on the scale, I've heard it 100 times I know. So here's my little beginner success story! Maybe it'll motivate others if they are starting out or struggling.
The hardest part is getting out of bed. Today is day 2 of my "scheduled" plan. Not DIET, PLAN. Started yesterday, I did about an hour of exercise on my xbox, using Biggest Loser Ultimate Workout as my strength training/stretch exercise. Then in the afternoon I did maybe 30 minutes on another xbox game, Dance Something Greatest Hits. I have Zumba games too, so I'm switching them up.
Yesterday I went from 227.8 to 222.0 on the morning scale. I know, our weight fluctuates 5-6 pounds a day, but it feels like a success to me! Weighed same time both mornings.
The hardest part is getting out of bed.Once I put my workout clothes on this morning, sore, and ate my morning oatmeal, I was ready to go. I felt better after the workout, but it was nice seeing the game tell me I've burned over 350 calories in an hour! YAY! I know I burned more because the kinect didn't pick me up when I was doing the jump-n-jacks or some lunges. IDK why unless the lighting wasn't good enough.
I just want to add for motivational purposes, don't use any excuses. I kept using excuses,i.E. I can't go to the gym no one to watch my kids, healthy food is expensive, yada yada yada. So is junk food. If you eat right and plan it out I have learned quickly it is not too much more. (I coupon too).
Everytime I used to try and "diet", I had issues eating enough vegetables and fruit. I love fruit, veggies not so much.
FInally set out a plan with my hubby and I'm sticking to it. IT's great the resources and support you can get on sparkpeople . Some of us need someone in person.
Before when I'd tell family members I was going to quit pop or sweets, they're like "again?" because I always messed up and binged or felt down about what Ihad to do to lose weight.
Don't say you have no time. I have a very active 3 y/o and 7 month old getting close to crawling. Yes I stay busy all day and it only helps you stay active and live a healthy lifestyle.
DONT be too hard on yourself. We do flub up, we're human.
drink water when you feel hungry. Try to set a schedule of when to eat 5-6 small meals through the day, and don't eat late.
Eat small portion meals every 2-3 hours. Small bit of meat, veggies, and a boiled egg or something as such.
Before I tried to use pudding or jello as a filler for a snack, I'd always end up eating more than the portion or I'd eat the whole bowl of pudding in one sitting. Not a good choice.
