That is a REAL success! I have seen the damage that diabetes can do, and as long as you can keep it away, you are doing great things! keep that Spark burning!

Wonderful news! Congrats!
Goes to show that even through a plateau, good things are still going on inside where we can't readily "see" them!

Hey well done. And that's brilliant that, against all the odds, you're not diabetic or ever going to be.

Well done on seeing positive changes in your health!

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

I agree that a good diet and exercise plan will defeat it. emoticon

So, I was diagnosed as pre-diabetic in my teens. I am now almost 40. Several years ago I began taking a medication which pushes a lot of people into diabetes, even if they are not predisposed. I must take this medication to stay alive and to be functional. I have a family history of both Type I and Type II. It seemed like getting diabetes would be inevitable for me.

However, I saw my neuroendocrioogist on Friday, and my fasting glucose is 80...a full 20 points below the pre-diabetes range of 100-120. Diabetes is greater than 120.

I am in a long plateau right now in terms of weight loss, but apparently the diet and exercise are still doing very good things for my health. Woo-hoo!

Dances: salsa (standard/LA), casino, rueda de casino, cumbia Colombiana, bachata, mambo, cha-cha-chá, merengue, reggaetón.

Currently learning: Mexican cumbia, danzón, Cuban rumba

Dances to Learn in the future: flamenco, tango Argentino, samba, belly dancing, bhangra, ballroom rumba
