For this month, I promised myself that I would give up all white breads and starches. I would still allow myself the occasional candy, but no bread type sweets such as pastries, or pop tarts, or fruit pies-NOTHING! I said no crackers, no pretzels, no chips, and no croissants-basically anything bread like that's not whole grain.
Today was my grandmother's birthday, and they had this REALLY delicious looking chocolate cake. I'm so proud that I'll never know what it tasted like because I didn't eat any! I only had one serving of ice cream-Neapolitan!
The best part is that we were originally going to have Pizza, but I told my cousin that I wasn't going to be eating it because of my goals, and so we actually switched the entire food plan around! We ended up having about 3 different salad options, chicken, and rolls. I managed to stick to my goal, and didn't eat the rolls or potato salad!
This is a big deal for me because this is the first time that I've ever been able to stick to my goals while visiting family. They tend to be food pushers.
