Exellent news! It is amazing how diabetes responds to a healthier diet. I've lost about 75 pounds and my A1C went from 6.5 without metformin to 4.9. My doctor doesn't consider me to have diabetes any more (though I'll have to watch out). I'm on no medication. Mine wasn't as severe as yours but it still made a difference.

Keep up the good work.

Well done on seeing such positive changes!

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.

I'm kicking my diabetes to the curb ...My tests came in very good!

This is after the first 3 months of being a diagnosed diabetic ...

I now have HgA1C at 6.5, down from 8.3 from 3 months ago ...
Fasting a.m. blood glucose is now 107, down from a whopping 195 .. same time frame ...

My dose of generic Lipitor is now halved back to 10 mg; and my dose 850 mg of Metformin 2x a day does not increase

The numbers show diabetes in remission ... !

-----

Uh, I refuse to lower my goal weight ... but after 3 years on Spark--most of them plateauing at about 20 pounds heavier than now (and spiking at 30 pounds heavier), I am happy to have the problem of not getting back to my selected goal weight, in the course of managing my blood sugar ...

Of course, the type of exercise I do had to radically change, along with my calorie and carb intake having to be kept way down ...
