Hello George
I was reading lots of SP message boards for inspiration and found yours, I just want to know how are you doing ? and are you still sticking with your diet plan.

George, I am so happy for you. Yes, there is no need for torture!
Not to say there won't be challenges along the way, but full out torture? Not if you approach it correctly.

All the best to you as you continue on this journey.

Hi All,

Happy Monday and hopefully everyone had a fantastic weekend. I have battled weight my entire life and at 57 I was about to surrender and say the hell with it.

I found Sparkpeople about two years ago and have been on and off my diet, getting totally frustrated at times and giving in to the dark side through it all. I have see sawed my way back to 291 pounds and I had to wake up one morning and realize I was killing myself.

I have cut out all dairy even yogurt which I love and anything that is a white product rice, potatoes and pasta. I have reversed my eating habits. I have diner for breakfast and for lunch a plant based protein drink, apple, pear and some blueberries and for diner a simple basic salad not enormous but a medium sized one with homemade italian dressing. Today after just two weeks I have lost 20.5 pounds and will continue to chart my progress with this type of plan. This is the fastest weight loss I have ever had and I am not hungry at all where other types I was starving all day.

Good luck to all of you just wanted to let those interested in an alternative diet plan that really works well and you are not giving up anything healthy....
