Congrats on your first 5k! I've run a bunch of races, and I've had a blast! I started with a 5k, and worked my way up to a half marathon in 2011. I'm in the process of training for another half marathon on April 28th of this year. I am by no means a fast runner, but I do it because I enjoy it.

The best advice I can give is to remind yourself that you aren't racing the other runners, but more that you're running for your own personal best.

Congrats!

I just signed up for a few this year. I am not a runner by any means, but these look like fun. Have a great time.

Best wishes to you! I think you'll find after you do one, you are HOOKED! Started 5k's in 2003 and still enjoy running! Stay healthy.

Good luck!

You are gonna do great. Since you're training for it, the 5K will be a lead pipe cinch.

Spark On!

Replace "try to" with "will".
You are now ready to succeed.
Let's go.
