I am preparing to go to a conference. I preselected healthy meals. Just have to deal with the breakfast buffets at the hotel. I plan to eat small portions of things that are good for me and skip the majority of foods.

Yesterday my Coach challenge was to do a 60 minute plank. I turn 70 this month and am still 20 lbs. overweight, yet the plank was fairly easy for me. When I started doing them I think about 8 seconds was the best I could do.

Worked out for the 5th time this week and completed all of the exercises in the video. Ate a protein rich Chia shake for breakfast. Also, and this is big for me - did not beat myself up about eating a muffin.

Today's excuses are tomorrow's regrets dressed in disguise.

roasted some fresh tomatoes, cut up some veggies and turned it into a huge super-healthy batch of chili con carne. :D Cleaned a lot of stuff out of the fridge and cupboards for it - I like keeping things fresh!

600 minutes of "farm work" - the closest I can come to tracking the work I do, which is Millwright work (industrial mechanic). I also post each morning for the work I did the day before as I work long hours and often night shift. As long as it's getting tracked - as it really does add up! I'm looking at a record-setting month of physical activity! :D

I made myself a bit pot of spicy rice, tuna, onion, peas, broccoli. I had a third for lunch today and have frozen two more portions to take into work for lunch. Each portion 220 calories and a good balance of carbs/protein, and one portion of veggies towards my 'five a day' target.

And it was delicious, and filling.

Work lunches are a pain as there's nothing but fast food near us, or a couple of sandwich shops, and sandwiches get boring fast. I try to take something in but don't always have time to sort it out, or remember to, but I can leave these in the freezer at work for those days. i'm planning to build up a little stock of home made frozen lunches there.

Did some rearranging of furniture, used the carpet sweeper, made my home a nicer place to be AND burned almost two hundred Calories in very little time! :-D Followed up with a very healthy breakfast including stir fry veggies and almonds, Greek yogurt and home made iced tea. :-)

I forgot to bring my gym stuff with me to work (I usually go on my way home) and had a tiring day so I knew it would be hard to convince myself to go home, get my stuff, then walk all the way back to the gym. Even though it's not far, I love settling in at home for the evening and rarely go out after.

So as a compromise, I did Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred (level 1) workout in my bedroom. It was probably a better workout than I'd have given myself at the gym anyway and I feel clear headed (if soo tired!).

I climbed a mountain once, and right up until the last step I didn't think I could do it.

I am still aiming to eat more fruits and veggies each day but so early in the morning it usually feels like too much work to peel a couple of Clementine oranges. Not today! Starting out right with two of them!!! :D Now to go and post in my nutrition tracker... :)

One of my goals, organizational / household is to do "three tens" each day. I did three tens in three different rooms! :-D Woohoo! On a work day, even! :D

I got the idea as a variation of a Fly Lady five minute fling, which I think is 27 items. 27 is an odd number to count to and I get sidetracked, so tens are easier. I pick the three hottest "hot spots" in a room and take care of ten items within each area (table, drawer, shelf, etc). My apartment is so tiny, I have to do something without getting discouraged. :)

I already starting getting my water in for the day. I made a HEALTHY, protein packed, fat free thing to share at a Superbowl party we're going to today.

And finally I'm super proud of myself for ordering Mango Grilled Shrimp with rice pilaf & roasted veg medley at Red lobster last night - 370 calories for the ENTIRE thing and I only ate half. I'm so looking forward to the leftovers :)

Thanks for posting this because it made me thing of the good things I did - for once I stuck to it through a weekend!!!

Instead of putting it off, I've already got my rutabagas cooking - Maple Roasted Rutabagas for breakfast, thanks Spark Recipes!!! :D Who knew veggies for breakfast could be so amazing?!
