an annoying inbetween size 8 & 10 jeans. We don't have size 9's and I will have to buy clothes on the internet if I go lower than an 8. There is no such thing as size zero in our part of the world

I wear a size 12 in most brands' jeans. I still wore a 12 though even when I was 20 pounds lighter in high school, so I think it's more my hip bones than my weight that dictates the number.

I am pear shaped too (always have been) and I have always had a hard time with the single digit pants, slacks, etc. I would find a brand or a certain company that had the perfect fit and then they would change how they made their clothes. Levi's and Lee are a prime example of this. I finally wandered into Old Navy one day when they were having their annual jean/pants sale and tried on a few pairs. And I found that a lot of the sizes I used to wear in Levis and Lee fit differently in Old Navy brands. Some were too big, some too small. But mostly too big. I found I wear a size or 2 smaller in O.N. jeans than I do in other brands.
Old Navy can get expensive though, so I wait until I find they are having a sale or I order online, where things are sometimes cheaper.
I also found that pants with a bit of stretch in them accomodate the pear shape too, enabling me too wear smaller sizes.

in July of this year I weighed 180 and at 5'1", I was wearing a size 16...I'm now 155 and wear a size 9/10. I'd like to lose 25 pounds and wear a size 8 but I think 25 pounds might put me as a size 6 instead.

When I started SP I was 192, at 5"4 I was in a 12 which was tight and about to go to a 14. Thats what did it for me, having to go up again another size I was like no way.

I have lost 30 lbs since June 29th and now am in a 6/8 depending on the designer and back in small tops and not large anymore. I am supposed to loose 29 more lbs according to spark people which will put me back in my high school size. How weird that will be!
