Down...what a lovely word...to go down in pounds is even better...and reflects my willingness to do what is working: radical self care. It is interesting that I just can't stay in the old sick behaviors any longer.....pretending that poor health does not exist and does not hurt those I love. It does by them not seeing me at my best and me not being my best to them. WOW...the gift of getting healthy is endless...a little motion, a little accountability and a little on the plate. Kudos to you!!! So you have lost 17 bags of potatoes.. Congrats. I personally count my pounds by comparing it with 5 pound bags of potatoes. Its a fun way for my children to understand how much weight my body has lost by counting them in the grocery store..... keep up the great work....

I hope that I have the right post. LOL As a type 2 diabetic can I suggest something to you that my doctor told me to do as I went down this journey? He told me to look up the Glycemic Index and eat off of that, the foods in the low range they are 50 and under. I did this and about two weeks ago I ended in the emergency room because we failed to reduce the insulin amounts. I went down to 35. I NO LONGER have to do the injections. Off insulin all together. Talk to your doctor about it. You are doing such a great job!!!!

Don't be discouraged I show my weight loss though inches loss. My clothes fit me baggier. Sometimes it takes longer for some than others. If you are exercising and eating as you should, the weight is going to come off. Continue to be patient.

85 pounds is awesome! Just wondering how long it was before you felt like you were seeing lasting results. I've been performing well according to my Sparkpeople logs, but haven't yet seen any rewards for it. I'm hanging in there for now, but am a bit discouraged.

That is very good. I am proud of you. At least some people here is loosing weight. Analytical, I'm not quite to your point (more like 70-71-72 depending on the day) but I have just bumped up my walking and am hoping to see the scale move again soon. I know how you feel! I am breathing better and moving more fluidly and loving my walks. How great is that?! Congratulations.

To be honest, I have never had a weight problem. I have been small all of my life. Even afte having three different pregnancies I was able to bounce back. I am not bragging but it seemed that I had some type of special metabolism. I am exercising now to maintain my weight (it seems that age caused me to put on a few pounds) and for maintenance of my blood pressure and cholesterol. For additional help ask others who were heavy and managed to lose and keep it offf.

WAY TO GO
How did you do it?
I have put myself on 1200 to 1400 calories a day and have lost 23 pounds. But I put 12 back on and then lost 6 of the twelve. I keep track of carbohydrates, fat, sugar and protein. But I have not figured out yet how to use the program to figure out how many carbs, fat, sugar to get daily in order to lose at least 2 lbs. a week.

Glad to hear that I was able to help. My suggestion to you is to start small. Do what you can and be consistent. Also watch what you eat. These are the main keys. Don't expect to lost weight right away, but just keep plugging along and you'll get there!

Wow. You are def a good motivation for me. I am 390 and plan on dropping a minimum of 100 pounds. And like I have put it off and put it off til finally its a pain to just walk to check the mail.
