Welcome to Spark People ! We need a bit more information from you. What is your current weight ? What is your height ? How old are you ? How much weight are you trying to lose ? Because the needs of someone trying to lose 100 pounds are very different than the needs of someone trying to lose 10.

While a safe weekly weight loss would be 1-2 pounds per week, there will be weeks you don't lose. There will even be weeks you gain ! And that doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong. The weight doesn't magically drop off the minute we decide we need to lose. It really could take 6-8 weeks of healthy eating and regular exercise before a person sees a change in the scale. And that too is perfectly normal.

What did the Spark nutrition tracker recommend for your macronutrient breakdown ? In general, SP suggests that a person eat roughly 45-60% carbs, 20-25% protein and 20-30% fat. Those number can shift depending on what type of dietary plan you follow. The members who are low carb tend to eat 45% carbs, 25% protein and 30% fat.

25-35% fiber is a good range for fiber. Americans really don't eat enough high fiber foods. Now, how are you getting your fiber ? If you're eating 6-9 servings of fresh fruit and veggies, that would give you plenty of fiber as well as push your carbs into the 50-65% range. which would be perfectly fine unless you plan on doing low carb.

Personally ? I feel a person should be eating at least 6-9 servings of fresh fruit and veggies in order to maintain their overall health and waistline.

Mostly, could you tell us a bit more about yourself ? The more you can tell us, the more helpful we can be. Right now, we're just taking guesses.

It sounds like you have created your nutritional goal rather than SP having done it. The carb is VERY low and the protein 'seem' to start rather high.

Have you put in your current weight and activity level accurately into SP? Have you also put in your gender correctly. I only say that because SOME members discover that they have checked the wrong box - LOL! The other thing that needs to be checked is that you have been realistic with your time-frame for the weight loss AND the goal weight. SP will then generate a fairly accurate set of nutritional goals for you, altho' sometimes if a person is very overweight, those nutritional goals can be a bit off.

hmm your calories and protein seem a little low are the carbs coming from non starchy veggies too

Could someone please tell me if I need to adjust any of these numbers - I think something is wrong...
This is my daily goals
Consume between 1200 & 1400 calories per day
Consume between 27 & 60 grams of fat per day.
Consume between 10 & 50 grams of carbohydrates per day.
Consume between 100 & 136 grams of protein per day.
Consume between 25 & 35 g of Fiber, total dietary
Consume at least 8 cups of water per day.

But this is my actual numbers for the day using the suggested Sparkpeople menu:
CALORIES 1,016 CARBS 143 FAT 27 PROTEIN 56

Please help me understand these numbers - I would like to lose 2 lbs a week
I appreciate your help.
