Pat... you have been here since 2009.
You KNOW those fads and gimmicks don't work, right?

I'd personally not take anything like this. I know a plateau is frustrating but the potential side effects of an unregulated substance are significant. At best you have spent money on nothing, at worst you could experience a significant problem.

Think about it: If miracle weight loss/fat burning pills were for real...there would be no Jenny Craig,Weight Watchers, diet books, sparkpeople, etc. As a matter of fact...there would hardly be any overweight people on the planet. Only those who were happy being over weight would remain.

I get it. You're not seeing the scale move, and you're getting frustrated.

There is only one way to break a plateau....something has to be changed. Your body is used to whatever it is that you have been doing. That happens all the time.

So, you need to change something. I don't know how many calories you are at, but if possible - decrease by 100 per day (just blind suggestion without knowing what you are currently at).

If you have been exercising - do something different. Do different exercises, or do longer/harder intensity.

Or...a combination of both (reduced calories, different/harder/more intense exercises).

It's the only way.

The best exercise in the world is to bend down and help someone up.

One thing you have to know is that the supplement industry is not regulated by the FDA. that means the manufacturer can make any claim they want as long as they don't make specific medical claims i.e. taking this will cure cancer. DSHEA deregulated the supplement industry. So, a person has to be very careful what supplements they take to ensure they are getting what they say is in the bottle.

Now, that being said, there really is no extract you can take that will suppress your appetite or jumpstart your weight loss. If this product really did what it said, we wouldn't have a weight problem in the US.

If you read the replies to your post regarding being stuck on a plateau, the advice was sound. If you're stuck on a plateau what you need to do is change your routine, not take a supplement that is not doctor recommended. Also, a person has to be careful taking supplements if they are taking medications because that can cause problems.

Okay, the point, being stuck on a plateau doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong. It just means you need to change your routine. If you've been eating the same foods day after day for weeks, then you need to change your menu. If you've been doing the same exercise routine, then it's time to change your routine so that your muscles are being challenged again.

Taking a pill won't work. any results are from a placebo effect. And that's why you will see such polarized reviews on amazon about these kinds of supplements. They seem to work for some people, but not others.

Save your money. You'll get more health benefits eating 6-9 servings of fresh fruit and veggies than you will taking garcin Cambodia extract.

Has anyone heard of this extract and have you used it? Reading about it, it sounds really good but I wonder if it is harmful or does it help anything? I am in a plateau and need a jump start and wonder if this might help. emoticon
