I felt the same way early on in my journey. With time, this all becomes habit. It will be like brushing your teeth - something you do daily without it taking a lot of mental effort.

Do you have a Crock Pot? Those are great for busy schedules and you can find lots of tasty, healthy recipes online.

Does your boyfriend insist that you prepare something different for him? Could you get away with just making him an extra side dish or giving him a double portion of what you're eating?

When I feel like exercise is a lot of "work", it's usually because I'm in a rut. Trying something new usually helps. A couple of weeks ago, I bought a jump rope and used that for one day of cardio. It made me feel like a kid again and was fun! Or I'll try a new exercise class, a new running route, a new workout video.

Have fun on your 5k obstacle race! Races are so much fun!

Maybe 2x a week ask your boyfriend to make his own?

Or a couple times a week tell him "This is dinner (your style). Deal with it". He could always have a snack later if he is hungry.

If you are open with your boyfriend, you should just tell him that you are getting tired, and this is very important to you, and he needs to compromise a couple of times a week - and that is fair.

If his dinner is more caloric than yours, 2 times a week you could just make his, and eat a smaller portion, and later have a snack for low calorie, like an apple or 2 cups air popped popcorn for 90 calories.

Congrats on the 5k obstacle!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone :) I signed up for my first obstacle 5k (and first 5k completely) so I have a goal to reach and train towards. Nothing more motivating than paying money for something lol

I think part of my frustration and being tired is my boyfriend is willing to eat healthy with me but we do eat slightly different so I make two sets of meals..I want to just worry about mine somedays!

What you're feeling really is perfectly normal. You ARE making very good progress. I know that trying to lose weight and be healthy seems like a "job" right now. However, with time, all of the things you are going will become a habit. You just need to give yourself and your body more time to adapt to these changes. Remember, you're trying to change habits learned over a life time. that's not going to happen overnight, a week, a month or even a year. Change really does take time.

The fact is, you're making good progress. Now, you need to give yourself some credit for making that progress. No need to beat yourself up because you're not feeling the love every single day. You don't have to be perfect to be healthy.

Patience, it's a virtue.

Sounds like you're doing great! Since you've only been at it a month or so, you're still in the "habit-forming" stage where everything feels like a chore. But soon it will become second nature. Eventually you won't feel like you *can't* have that treat, because you genuinely won't want it, and you won't *have* to go to the gym, you'll *GET* to! Even if/when your progress slows, remember that everything you're doing is pushing you towards your ultimate goal of health.

I think what you have been doing is fantastic!!!

I've gone through phases where it's just like, "Uuugh, really?". But I just keep going.

When I see the scale drop 5 days later - I'm always so, so happy I stuck with it!!!!

Doing the jeans thing has been helping me a lot lately.

I think you have been doing so much (work, cooking on sundays) that it's maybe just getting to you? Maybe others can offer you other suggestions on what to do about meals so that you have more free time?

Whatever you do, though - don't stop! You have come so far :)

Sadly I have been on this road before so I have jeans in sizes I have never even fit into! I have been afraid to try them on recently so I should try that. I just stopped fitting into size 18s this week so I do have a bunch of 16s that were just sitting in my closet so I should see how many clothes I really do have :P I am really hoping im in a better frame of mind tomorrow and ready to keep on keepin' on! Tomorrow is Zumba then Tuesday is my rest day so maybe thats just what I need!

Im up for anything to be reposted. Im not feeling inspirational right now though!

Well, about all I can say about what you have been doing is: WOW!!!

Holy smokes - girl, you go with your bad@ss self!!! I wish others could read what you have written!

Can I copy and paste what you wrote as inspiration for others??

Anyway - what I do sometimes is look at at my weight loss graph (the report you run after changing a measurement)..I really look at that sometimes..I look at how it's gone down - and there it is in black and white.

Another thing is I do is jeans. I have jeans that I just started fitting into - I try them on to see how much more I need to do - I try them on once a week - that's pretty motivating.

If you don't have jeans - buy them cheap at a thrift store for like $5 - get them 2 sizes smaller - keep trying them on. You can maybe zip them and not breathe..ok - 3 weeks later when you can breathe, but still way too tight = progress. When you can breathe, but still have a big muffin top = progress. When the muffin top gets smaller = progress.

It sounds corny, but it works for me :)

So today right after I went to the gym I had this overwhelming feeling of not wanting to feel like weight loss is a full time job in itself. I work 2 jobs and workout 5 days a week. Because of this every Sunday I cook all my meals and snacks ahead of time for no excuses and no wasted time during the week. I am very proud of my progress so far (1 pants size, 12 lbs, and 2% body fat reduced in 1 month) but I couldn't shake this feeling of just being tired of watching everything I do and this routine ive been in for weeks. I do shake up my workouts..I change my menus so I dont get bored..it seems to be a little mental glitch..

I know I wont fall off track or sabotage myself because I want this so bad and have goals to reach..but I just don't want to feel bummed about something thats going great. Anyone else feel this way? What do you do to snap out of it?
