I am feeling the same thing today, so know that you are not alone. I was losing, doing well and although I am tracking, am suddenly gaining. I feel discouraged but I am choosing not to listen to that right now. Instead, I am doing just what you are doing... talking about it and not stuffing it down with food. Believe it or not, we are doing it right by speaking up. I think the other two ladies have more experience at success with this. I choose to listen to them instead of my own head. My head's a dark, dangerous alley tonight and I think I better stay out of it. I have no words of wisdom for you. All I can tell you is that I am going to find a comedy and watch it. This is discouraging but as you said, we've been there before and we will be in a good place again. I can't wait to hear both of us post about feeling better when that happens! Hang in there. We can do this together.

Pat- Persistence is one of the keys to weight loss. I've been where you are. Keep pushing and you ll make your way through it. Do whatever exercises you can to move your body. Do whatever seems fun to you that keeps you moving, Walk or run or swim or whatever! Keep track of your food. Use the nutrition tracker. Weigh and measure what you eat. Use a smaller plate so you eat smaller portions. Only eat when you are hungry so you can learn to listen to your body. Eat mindfully so you enjoy each bite and flavor. Drink your water. Stay with it! Together You will notice a change when your clothes fit you differently. That will tell you to keep going. KEEP SPARKING!

I give all new members and anyone who will listen to one piece of advice and it's this,"Don't look at good health or weight loss with an all or nothing mentality". If the only healthy thing you did for yourself today was drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.
Why do you beat yourself up ? Because you're trying to be perfect. Stop trying to be perfect. You don't have to be perfect to be healthy. Another member posted this analogy on another thread and I think it sums everything up very nicely.
When you're driving and get a flat tire, do you puncture all the other tires ? Of course not. You go out and fix the tire (or all AAA) and go on your way. And yet, that's exactly what everyone does when they don't eat perfectly during the day. "I ate a cupcake, my day is ruined. I might as well go eat all the rest of the cupcakes!" Why do we do those things to ourselves ?
Because we have an "all or nothing" mentality. You have to ditch the all or nothing mentality. You have to think about repairing that tire so you can continue on your journey. Don't puncture all your other tires to spite yourself.
What to do ? One thing I would suggest is logging your food. You don't have anything listed in your food diary. Studies have shown that people who log their food lose more weight than those who don't. Set simple goals. Don't try to do everything at once or you will end up frustrated. Don't try to be perfect. You don't have to be perfect to be healthy.
Take baby steps literally and figuratively And keep thinking about that flat tire. What do you do when you get a flat tire ? You do exactly the same thing with your day. You fix it and move along.
Another time of no loss and a gain out of no where. I don't know what I do wrong but I guess this body likes me fat. I think I am trying and I do well for a while and then a setback that makes me feel it's not even worth it. I will have to get past this period as it has happened before but I seem to be going backwards instead of forward. It was much easier when I was young to lose weight and exercise but I won't give up though sometimes I wonder why I do this to myself.
