If you want to wear something that will count any activity you do all day, then you do need to consider investing in something like a Fitbit or a Jaw Bone. None of the activity trackers has perfect reviews. You will get some mixed opinions.
Before you buy anything, you have to decide exactly what you want that device to do. Once you've decided, then you research the different models to see which one best suits your needs. Be an informed consumer. Don't impulse buy or you will be sorry. Keep thinking of this as an investment in your health.

i plan on using it often. everything i found on my own seemed to be just for running or had really bad reviews. ill look at the one you mentioned. i want something that i can use all the time. work, school, home, gym. im fairly active and hope this will help me keep up with my calories/miles/etc. i really liked the ones i saw at walmart but they all seem to need a smartphone to connect to and i dont have one
Be careful when buying a cheap pedometer. As the old cliche goes, you get what you pay for.
If you're looking for a decent pedometer, OMROM makes a good pedometer for around $20. Amazon lists a bunch of different models for various prices.
If you're looking into something like a Fitbit or Jawbone or any of the other fitness trackers, expect to pay at least $75-$100 for a good quality unit.
The question is this, will you use the device on the regular basis or will it end up with all your other fitness equipment ? A fitness tracker is a tool you could use to help you be more fit. What you get out of it is dependent on what you put in.
So, what's your history with exercise equipment ? If it's something you think you'll use, I suggest paying a little extra and getting a good quality device. If you don't think you'll use it, stick with a pedometer.
