Thanks all for your replies! I know that I can't change a lifetime of bad eating over a day so I will go little by little and not forgetting that I have to be really consistent with my diet and exercise program!!

Happy day to all!

The best thing I ever did was get a heart rate monitor for my workouts. It may seem unrelated, but I would bust my bum in the gym and burn 800 calories which excited me. This would push me to keep eating healthy because I wanted to make that count. And once you learn how many calories are even in the smallest servings of some of your favorite foods they just become not worth it!.

Goals:
155- 1/1
150- 2/1
145- 3/1
140- 4/1
135- 5/1

SANDRACOLATO,

I give this piece of advice to all new members and anyone who will listen to me,"Don't look at good health with an all or nothing mentality". If the only healthy thing you did today was drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.

As the old song goes,'Accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative". The fact is, you didn't eat with wonton abandon. You were more mindful even if you didn't think so. Remember, one overindulgent meal or even day or weekend's worth of overeating WILL NOT make or break your healthy lifestyle.

It really does take a very long time to change habits learned over a life time. So, don't beat yourself up because you're not perfect. stop trying to be perfect. you don't have to be perfect to be healthy. Making small changes really is the way to create habits. Will you binge again ? Probably. You may never stop binging, BUT you may be able to reduce the number of binges you have. And that's progress.

That doesn't sound so horrible to me.
Every now and then it's OK to just say to yourself
"Well this wasn't the healthiest eating day I've ever had but now I will get back on my healthy path."
Shake it off and move on, it's OK!

There are some really great mindful eating teams you can join - I found them helpful. Good luck! The first step is acknowledging your weakness - nice work!

Yesterday was some kind of a party day for my family, my father bought some beef, wine and desserts, my uncle and aunt cooked and everyone ate more than what we needed including me). At the end I ate 3 small pieces of fruit cafe, 2 gluten free peanut cookies, a little bit of potato salad, beef, and half sausage. I feel happy because I also ate veggies (a lot) and so Im changing the old habits that put me where I am right now… except for one: I ate without hunger.

I know that old habits die hard and that I need to give time to myself and my body to change and be better, but I still have that uneasy feeling specially because I really don't want to star bingeing again.

I hope that someone can help with some ideas to not let this happen.

Thanks!
