I am really new to this whole thing; but I totally understand where you are coming from. I have two young children as well. I completely understand your frustration and struggle with working hard and not always seeing results. It seems like you are doing the right things- so just keep at it. You are being accountable by tracking your food and working hard exercising so although you aren't seeing result you will. I know for myself stress, and probably lack of sleep with a little one are other contributors to not being able to lose. Maybe try and take a break from the scale and measuring tape and just focus on trying your best to be healthy for yourself and family. It is really hard to not meet the expectations you set for yourself- but it will happen if you keep working hard!

Please stop using the excuse of having a baby for having "no time". You don't need to make 2 meals, nor do you have to live on water and grilled chicken breasts. I have a child (who was once an infant), I have 3 jobs and a husband and was off work for only 3 weeks after my son was born..there are many ways to make fast meals..many nights I do precooked packaged frozen meals, but I pick the healthiest ones and serve with salad or other fast vegetables.
What you do need to change is your attitude. No one's trying to talk you down. Understand the changes you can make are not a time suck, thinking that healthy food is boring, healthy eating is making you miserable is what's keeping you from being successful in the long term.

ARCHIMEDESII, whether you realize it or not, I make quite a few things from Spark Recipes. I do my best to lighten things up and I often add in more veggies than it calls for (Quinoa Fried Rice- Spark recipe with double the veggies.) Most of the time, I add more than the recipe calls for because I know I am lacking in that category. I understand the concept of "nourishing my body." But I live in the real world. With an infant. And a husband who wants to eat real food. I don't have time to make two meals. I eat granola bars and cereal because thats about all I have time to prepare some days. I am lucky that my husband and Mom helps out in the afternoon or evening so I can work out for 30-45 minutes and take a shower. And it's only going to get worse when I go back to work. I will be eating Lean Cuisine meals 5 days a week because I will have even less time and I don't have a job where I have a designated lunch hour or even 30 uninterrupted minutes to eat a meal.
I'm not trying to be rude. I understand that I have room for improvement on the fruits and vegetables. I know I have indulged in some "sugary" items. But I keep my portion sizes in check and I do my best to make smart choices when I'm not able to control what I'm served (country style breakfast at the in-laws- only one strip of bacon, 1/2 a biscuit, scrambled eggs and one small spoon of hash browns). I can only eat so many grilled chicken breasts before I start to gag and my husband starts to complain.
Sometimes, a person just needs a little encouragement. Not to be talked down to like they don't understand proper nutrition or that they could be eating better foods. I guess I came to the wrong place. I won't be back.

You don't say if you're bfing, but with my second daughter, I didn't lose single pound from the day I left the hospital until I weaned her at 14 months. Probably not what you want to hear...I was moderately active and eating healthy foods (but admittedly, too much), but I felt like it was my body's way of asking for what it needed. Once I weaned her, I lost all the weight and then some (25+ pounds) in two or three months without changing much. The way I look at it, everything I did in the interim was laying the foundation for what was to come. Whether you see it yet or not, your body is getting stronger, your cardio/endurance is increasing and you are becoming healthier. Not seeing it on the scale is definitely frustrating, but you just have to be patient. There's so much more going on inside your body postpartum than during normal weight loss efforts, and you just can't predict when/where the weight is going to go.
As for going back to work, I would suggest buying yourself some new clothes that make you feel good in your current size. Nobody wants to keep wearing maternity clothes, but you can't make yourself feel bad because you don't fit into your old clothes just yet. Good luck.

If you're finding it difficult to eat fresh fruits and veggies, then why not start with the ones you do like ? If you like spinach, why eat one serving when you can eat two ?
You don't have to restrict yourself to be healthy, but as I mentioned in my previous post, you really do have to do your best to eat foods that nourish your body. If you're finding that you're not satisfied with the foods you are eating, then it's time to really evaluate your menu. Find ways to make the foods you are eating more healthful.
Have you checked out any of the meals in the Spark Recipes section ? Let's say you like enchiladas. Chef Meg as well as many members have posted healthier versions of enchilidas. So, why not try making the meals you do make more healthy as well as satisfying. When a person tells me they don't feel satisfied, I ask them how much fiber they eat. Eating foods that are high in fiber help keep a person full as well as satisfied. What foods are high in fiber. Fresh fruit and veggies. Whole grain breads and cereal. If you like pasta, that's okay. semolina pasta has 2grams of fiber per servings. But, you know what ? The whole wheat version of pasta could have as much as 8grams of fiber. Try eating high fiber bread with your sandwiches.
Do you like sweet potatoes or squash ? They're not just for thanksgiving. How about eating more squash and sweet potatoes ? When is the last time you checked the fruit and veggie section ? See what's in season and give it a try. Who knows, you might find you actually like them.
And well, if you really don't want to eat your veggies, then double up on the ones you will eat. that's a start.

Fruits and vegetables still really gross me out. I'm having a very hard time eating them after being pregnant. I'm trying though.
I know I have higher sugar items on my tracker sometimes, but usually its a consequence of me restricting myself so much throughout the day that I am at my whits end at night. I'm starving, I'm not satisfied by anything I have eaten all day and crave something sweet. I try to limit myself to something small.
I only eat whole wheat bread, I don't eat white potatoes, I don't eat white rice. I make the majority of my meals at home and when I eat out I try to make "better choices" by not having mayo on a sub, wheat bread etc. Last night I logged Ruby Tuesday chili- but it was really homemade. I didn't have time to put it in the recipe calculator.
I guess I will just cut more stuff out of my diet and be even more miserable with what I eat to see results.

Don't beat yourself up because the weight isn't coming off. What you're experiencing is not unusual for post pregnancy. Many women will tell you that it took a long time to shake the baby weight. So, don't beat yourself up because the weight doesn't seem to be magically coming off.
I hope you don't mind, but I snuck a peak at your food diary. Please do not take this as a criticism. But, one thing that stands out to me is that you're not eating enough nutrient dense foods. If I were to go back in time and give myself one piece of nutritional advice, it would be to eat 6-9 servings of fresh fruit and veggies each and every day. Some days, you barely have one serving. That's not enough to keep a grown woman healthy.
While it's true that most Americans eat too much and need to eat less, the problem is that they are eating too much of the wrong food and not enough of the right food. QUALITY of the food you eat not only has an impact on your health, but your waistline too. Losing weight isn't just about eating less, it's about eating RIGHT.
So, my first piece of advice would be to do your best to increase the amount of fresh fruit and veggies you eat until you are eating 6-9 servings on a regular daily basis. Try to eat lean cuts of meat. Try to eat whole grain breads and cereals. I really can't emphasize enough the importance of eating nutrient dense foods that nourish your body.
And the exercise is great ! BUT, on days you do intense exercise, you're going to find you need to increase the amount of calories you eat per day. Exercising more and eating less will not speed up your weight loss. In fact, it can slow it down. As I said, weight loss isn't just about eating less. it really is all about eating right as best we can.

If you are eating in your calorie range and exercising you should be losing weight. How long have you been tracking? I did take a peek at your nutrition tracker. I didn't see much for vegetables there and only and occasional fruit. I did see a lot of high sugar items. You may have to revamp that if you want to see some results but regardless, within calorie range and 5-6 days of exercise should be producing results. Also as far as measuring. I have found that while helpful, it isn't always reliable....I have measured and had larger measurements yet I could fit into a smaller size. There is a lot of room for human error there so your husband may not have lied, he may have just measured differently than you. And congratulations on your new baby!!!

I am almost 3 months postpartum and have been trying to lose the baby weight since week 3. I started slow- cutting back on portion sizes and walking 3-5 days a week for 30-45 minutes. Recently, I have been doing a higher intensity workout video 5-6 days a week (3 days cardio session, 3 days strength/sculpt session).
I have tracked every bit of food that goes into my mouth for the last 3 weeks, with only a few days where I have exceeded my calorie allowance and/or not tracked.
I haven't lost any weight. Not even 1 pound.
I had my husband help me take measurements a month ago. I had my husband retake my measurements this week and he told me I had lost 1.5 inches in my waist and 1 inch in my hips. But after trying on some of my clothes- they didn't feel different so I remeasured myself. He lied to me. I've not lost inches at all. In fact- the measurements I took the other day are bigger than the ones from a month ago. I don't know if he measured me wrong or if I'm going in the opposite direction.
I don't know what to do. I'm not seeing progress. I feel like I can't trust my husband to help me. I'm frustrated. I have to go back to work in two weeks and none of my clothes fit me.
It is extremely hard for me to stay motivated when I see no results.
