The one thing that seriously helps me keep from overeating in a day is to track my food before I eat it. I don't really know why it works, but it truly does.
If I'm going to go out, I'll track something as close as possible to what I'm going to have. Sometimes I then decided it isn't worth it when I see the numbers, sometimes I make it work with the numbers.
It's going to happen and it's ok, just be sure to track everything so you have that info.
If you don't love yourself....how can you expect others to.
