Congratulations on losing 55 pounds. That is a huge accomplishment!

And congrats on getting the job, too. It's a big adjustment to go back to work. You have less time, and more temptation, and probably more fatigue.

Some suggestions:
1. Plan to avoid the unhealthy choices at work. Learn what healthy options are available and find ones that you like. Or bring a healthy snack with you.
2. Make sure you get enough sleep. Fatigue makes you crave high fat, high sugar food.

If you are maintaining instead of gaining as you make your transition to work, you are doing great. Give yourself some time to figure it out.

AMBREASPARK,

Even though you've been a long time member, I give all new members one piece of advice and it's this,"Don't look at good health or weight loss with an all or nothing mentality". if the only healthy thing you did for yourself today was drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.

Losing 50+ pounds is no small feet ! As the old song goes,"Accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative". Even though you haven't lost any weight, you haven't REGAINED it either. that says you are doing something right.

Why can't you lose that last 20 ? As we approach a healthy weight for our height, your weight loss will slow down. Someone who is morbidly obese could safely lose 1-2 pounds per week. But someone with less than 20, if you're lucky you might lose 1 pound a month. And that doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong.

Remember, you are not morbidly obese anymore. Your body has changed and because of those changes, you have to learn to be more patient. This really does have to be a lifestyle change. That's why I'm going to encourage you to start with some simple changes first. Don't try to do everything at once or you will end up frustrated. And don't try to be perfect either. You don't have to be perfect to be healthy. but, you do need to be more patient.

So, keep accentuating all the positives !!! because there is more too good health than a number that stares at us from between our toes in the morning.

True, maybe I am trying to start over too fast...jumping in instead of taking it slow again. UGH! I wish I hadn't gotten distracted for so long! Back to the beginning I go.

it's tough working and making changes....not sure what your schedule is, but you also might consider your victories and maybe your body has to adjust to your initial weight loss....baby steps may have gotten your 55 # off, so start with a few manageable changes....OR, set yourself a goal(s), and get moving! emoticon

I changed my lifestyle on December of 2010 and since then I have lost 55 pounds. For a long time I was not working and could focus on the task of losing weight. I got a job about 10 months ago and found it harder and harder to stay on track. I haven't lost a pound since! I got pretty low on myself and haven't been able to find the motivation to get back to it. Its much harder now that I am working again (especially working in a restaurant!) I keep finding myself eating bad food because its convenient and not working out because Ive lost energy. I only have 20 pounds to go and I feel like its the hardest part of all! Please help!
