I think many of us here on Spark People have experienced similar feelings. For years, we ignored our weight, then one day we realized, we were fat. What to do ? We all panicked ! And because we all wanted to lose the weight as quickly as possible, we all did unhealthy things that took the weight off. The problem ? We all gained the weight back.

We've all made mistakes like that. However, that was the past. You can't change the past, but you can influence and change the future. Breaking the cycle won't be easy, but the first thing you have to understand is this,"There is more too good health than a number that stares at us from between our toes in the morning".

What I've learned from my own weight loss journey is that while it IS important to maintain a healthy weight, what my body can do is what really matters. Your self esteem is should NOT be determined by a number on the scale.

What to do ? I would start by reading this great Spark article. It really does take a long time to change our heads. We're our own worst critics. Flaws we see in ourselves, no one else sees. But, you can make a change.

I don't know that I'm the best person to help, since I have been exactly the same this week. Today, I am focussing on the positives and I am back on track. Think about what you HAVE achieved and how good it felt to reach each little goal along the way. Think about WHY you want to eat. Are you tracking, and have you actually had enough to eat? Under eating won't help - it just makes you more hungry and crave more. Keep drinking water, or try a herbal tea - you might find that more satisfying, or maybe put a slice of lemon or lime in your water. Eat fruit and veg. Sometimes, even if I don't feel like it, I make myself eat fruit and drink water. It usually works. If you're not in the right mind set though, sometimes satisfying the craving with just a little of what you fancy won't do much harm, as long as it is in moderation. Take yourself off out for some fresh air and exercise too. These are the kinds of things I'm trying. Hope it helps. Good luck.

I've been there and sometimes I still go thru that. But don't give up on yourself so easily, you can start over,one step backward two steps forward and most important you need to love yourself. I believe you can get thru this and don't give up. emoticon emoticon

I'm obsessed with my weight. Pulled my weight, I want to lose more weight, and I am getting increasingly frustrated, and having desires to eat wildly. I need help
