You must be pretty muscular because I'm also 5'3" and 160 and I'm in a size 12. I haven't been in a size 7 since i was 125 lol

I suggest we learn to love ourselves before it's made illegal

i am right there with you, i havent seen any weight loss in almost 8 months, i broke my foot in jan and since then, i lost track of me and of my goals.
i allowed the break, which sidelined me from walking infiltrate my mind and make me depressed.
along with relationship issues and issues all around me, i just gave up.
i have gained back at least 12 lbs and i have been stuck at the same weight for at least 4 months now.
i walk now since my foot is healed, but in no way in the manner in which i did before.
im lucky if i walk 2 or 3 days a week and before i was doing 2 times a day, 6 days a week.
i am depressed and i eat alot of carbs and i know if i dont nip it in the bud soon i will gain it all back and i will be feeling even worse than ever.
every day is a struggle for me and it doesnt help that i stay inside alone most of the time.
i have no social life whatsoever, friends i thought i had are no longer in my life and i just stay home and feel sorry for myself.
like today, there are events going on all around my community for labor day and yet, i sit here alone, with no one to go with and thinking who can i call but knowing there is NO ONE.
so if i go, i go alone.
and that makes me even more depressed.

Hi Ashscorpian,
Definitely keep close track of your food intake, water, and vary your exercise routine...strength training will boost your calorie burn, too

I eat a very balanced diet, eat healthy, limit my sugar intake. Maybe, I'm not eating correct portions. I will definitely check that back out, and see if I'm eating too much or too little.

I'm 24 years old right now, I'll be 25 late October. I mostly wear Junior sizes since they tend to fit me better than adult sizes.

I lost about 10 pounds before I hit the plateau. I do think that there may be the possibility of eating too little or too much. I'm going to keep a food journal, and go from there.

Thanks for the help!

ASHSCORPION,

Welcome to Spark People ! When a person asks me why they aren't losing weight when they are exercising regularly, I ask them what they are eating. When it comes to weight loss or weight gain, what matters most is what we eat. Good nutrition is what takes the weight off and keeps it off. Exercise is what keeps our bodies fit and healthy. In short, you can't outrun a bad diet with exercise. If you want to take the weight off and keep it off, you have to eat right and watch your portions first.

Since we don't know what you're eating or how much, then let's talk exercise. If you're losing inches, then yes, you are losing body fat. Depending on how much strength training you do, yes, you could have increased lean muscle. How much lean muscle ? hard to say since we don't know anything about you other than your weight and your height. but if you are losing inches, you are making a difference.

How old are you ? I haven't worn odd digit clothing since I was a teenager. Those are junior sizes. Here's the thing, depending on how old you are, that too can effect how much weight you lose.

Could you tell us a bit more about yourself ? How old are you ? how much weight did you lose before the weight loss seemed to slow down. What sort of foods do you eat ? Could you describe a typical day's meals ? How many calories do you eat per day ? Going back to my original point, when a person tells me they haven't lost weight in several months, I ask them what they've been eating.

The more you can tell us, the better we can answer your questions. Right now, we're just taking educated guesses.

I started a pretty intense health kick at the beginning of the year. I workout on an almost daily basis, but I noticed that although my clothes are feeling looser, I haven't really lost much weight.

Since the beginning of the year I have gone from a snug size 13 to a loose size 7. I have lost a ton of inches, but could I really be that muscular for a woman?

I know people say that "muscle weighs more than fat." Although, it's really that muscle takes less room in the body.

I'm only 5'3, and the last time I jumped on the scale earlier this week I was 160 pounds.

Anyone else with the same problem?
