You have lost 14 pounds and done things right 98% of the time by your own account... Why give up now??
Remember that we are talking about a human body here and not a robot who can be programmed to do things consistently and give the same result each time that is expected from it.
Your body is constantly at work here, trying to adjust to the food you have been giving it, the exercise you are putting it through, all the while trying to keep things in balance and let go of the fat and still maintaining all the body functions. Your body is doing a lot for you and in return, you have to treat it respectfully and with patience. Some weeks, you will lose weight, especially when you start at first, then it slows down a little, you will see some weeks with no weight loss at all.
But in the meantime you may have noticed increased energy levels, clothes fitting better and your general outlook towards life may have infact improved. All these are signs of success too. Not just the number on the scale. It is important to see that number go down as well but is not the only measure of success.
There are so many reasons why the weight may stall every now and then. It may be temporary water retention, if you are closer to your ideal body weight now, it will be harder to lose weight and also if you are doing the same exercise for a while. Shake it up a little, try a different type of exercise, pay attention to portion sizes, dont stress about the weight, be cheerful and see the number on the scale change when the body decides to let go of it.
“There are three types of people in this world. Firstly, there are people who make things happen. Then there are people who watch things happen. Lastly, there are people who ask, what happened? - Steve Backley
