When it comes to weight loss, what matters most is what you eat. Good nutrition is what takes the weight off and keeps it off. So, if you find yourself gaining, you need to pay closer attention to your nutrition. While it's true that most Americans eat too much and need to eat less, the problem is that they are eating too much of the wrong food and not enough of the right food. QUALITY of the food you eat really does make a difference not only on your health, but your waistline too.

So, if you find yourself gaining weight, take a closer look at what you've been eating. Do your best to eat high quality foods that nourish your body. Because weight loss really isn't just abuot cutting calories. What you eat really does matter.

Now, for the treadmill, how about using it in the evening ? If you find you can't motivate yourself in the morning, how about an evening workout ? You paid good money for that treadmill, don't let it go to waste and end up as an expensive coat rack.

I agree with the advice to make an appointment. I always look at my schedule in advance and schedule my workouts for when I know I'm mostly likely to be successful. I don't say, "I'll do it tomorrow" or "I'll start Monday." I say, instead, "Tuesday, when I get home from work, after a quick snack, I'll take my dog for a walk, and then I'll run three miles at the park. Wednesday I'll do a strength training dvd after work, and Thursday, I'll run 3 miles. Friday is yoga, and Saturday, the gym." I already know in advance what each day holds, and the only decision I have to make is to keep the commitment.

Motivation will get you to the start line; discipline will get you to the finish.

Current Weight 129.4 (didn't get here overnight)

Sciatica came upon me, making it impossible to walk any length of time however it's getting better with my weight loss You are so fortunate if you are able to walk without pain. Seriously, turn off the television, praise God for your health, stretch, put on your favorite music, turn it up and walk, it's addictive!

Is it possible to have your treadmill moved to where your television is? It's easy to get on and walk a bit while you watch your favorite program. Start off slow and work your time up. You can do this - you are worth it!

I don't know if this is an option for you financially or geographically, but I find I am much more likely to hold myself accountable and actually go work out if I am paying for a gym membership. I have an elliptical and a stationary bike at home, but they just gather dust most of the time, even when I'm trying to be good about working out. But when I'm actually paying money for a gym membership, I feel like not going is just wasting my money and thus am more likely to actually go work out. (It turns out it doesn't even have to be much money to motivate me; I currently just have a $10 a month membership at Planet Fitness and that does the trick!)

Make an appointment with your treadmill and get on for 10 minutes. If you can find a time that works every day, then do that. I work out in the morning before I have a chance to think about it too much and talk myself out of it. I have my shorts and bra top, socks and shoes laid out and just put them on and do it.

Just do the 10 minutes, and congratulate yourself when you're done. Don't keep putting it off and then in a year wish you hadn't. Get sick and tired of feeling bad about it and just do it.

I wake up every morning and tell my self I will use that new treadmill today. I will watch what I eat and I will lose weight. Unfortunately, I don't get the treadmill. I Do watch what I eat, but it is not the right foods and it is way more than it should be and instead of losing I am gaining!!!
I don't know why. I do want tot lose weight and get healthy, but I guess I am just too lazy. HELP!!!!!!
