Colbijean,
Use distraction and get out of the kitchen! Walking is great, but may not be feasible with the kids. Go and see what they are doing, they will feel like they got some time with you and you won't feel they tug between kids and what to fix/eat. Good Luck!

I am having one of those days where I just want to eat every food I see, the good and the bad, I don't know why these days happen. There has got to be a reason. I haven't given in too much, I should still be in my calorie range, or close to it, by the end of the day but it is driving me crazy! Sometimes I wish I could put a timed lock on my kitchen and it would only unlock at meal preparing and eating times. There are many flaws with that plan though, number one being the kids, another I thought of is putting groceries away. Still, I need to find a way to get food off my mind. Thanks for the advice here.

So far so good. I am tired. I do need a good night sleep. And thank you so much for the help!

Just stare at the food. And talk to it. "I only want you because I think you'll make me feel better. But, I know what's really inside you.. you're this, and that, and that.. I can do SO MUCH better than you."

And then, do one better.

If you want a beer before bed, pour a glass of wine (at least you'll get anti-oxidants), or water, or de-caffeinated coffee.
If you want ice cream, grab a piece of fruit and a small side to go with it. (Apple/Banana and Peanut Butter, Strawberries and Whip Cream, etc.)

Or, if you've already had dinner- STAY OUT OF THE KITCHEN. That's a pretty good way to ensure you won't be tempted by the food within. :)

Ok. Starting with a book. Later at night will be harder .If I could manage to fall asleep early it might be ok.

STOP. Take a bath. Call a friend. Journal. Read a book. Clean out a drawer or cupboard. Anything to distract yourself. Cry.

Sit down and ask your body. What does it really want?

Eat whatever...if it makes you feel better.

But it probably won't, which is why you should channel your frustrations elsewhere.

I just found something out that really upsets me. I found myself having that frustrated, I don't care feeling creeping in. I want to just do whatever! Eat whatever! Have a beer before bed. I don't want to but I want to, I'm sure you know what I mean.

What do I do? How to I get past this panic mode. Tell me to stop. emoticon
