I'm working on making some changes to conquer my two biggest addictions: sweets (like snack cakes) and barbecue potato chips.
1 box of Zebra cakes is around 1,600 calories (a box will last me 1-3 days)
1 bag of my favorite chips clocks in at around 1,200 (a bag will last 1 day)
I'm looking at some ideas for snacks that I can turn to instead of these (though I'm also including cookies and other sweets I eat at home).
For the sweets I have:
-Chobani yogurt (especially half a cup of the vanilla chocolate chunk with frozen berries or the Flips varieties. Mmmm)
- Frosted mini wheats cereal dipped in milk
For the chips:
-Roasted chick peas (an entire can's worth of chick peas only comes to around 385 calories, and it's much more filling than the chips)
- Triscuts and greek yogurt dip (with veggies as well).
- Kale chips
- Roasted seaweed
- Pistachios (though, those can be dangerous. I can eat through a pound in a day if I'm not careful. Still, I have better control over pistachios than chips).
- Carrot chips
Any other ideas? I want to have options I can grab just in case I find myself in a position where I would normally pick up a bag of chips and a box of zebra cakes. I'm wondering if I have enough good alternatives, I'll be able to get some of the junk out of my diet.
