I can totally see where you are coming from! Don't worry about what has happened - it was an emergency and you had to eat something. I also know that our energy generally ebbs considerably when under this sort of stress, as well.
The last couple years my husband was admitted to hospital many times for various emergencies - Crohn's, Heart AttackS, Pancreatitis, Bowel Resection, Accident, etc. etc. Apart from the surgery, all were totally out of the blue. I grabbed a couple quick healthy snacks that I keep in my pantry for emergencies, and ran, and then got what I could from the hospital - my selections were taste and comfort, with planned disregard to health. I allowed myself to enjoy it, because I sure needed something to enjoy. BUT, when I visited, I ALWAYS took my own lunch and snacks, and ate it there. Then of course, there were many outpatient appointments. Because we have a long way to travel to the hospital, it meant eating out, but I always took our own food for that, too! My husband died just before Xmas. My nutrition slipped a bit, and that is understandable, but I was able to pick up again. You can too. It was only ONE WEEK out of the rest of your life! You can do this - do it for your Mum AND for you!
Sending good thoughts your and your Mum's way!
