FAT2FIT2011,

What you're experiencing really is perfectly normal. It's nothing more than a temporary water weight gain that passes in a few days. You may have noticed you "gain" weight during your menstrual cycle. This is not unusual. Many women tend to gain weight. Is this a fat gain ? Nope, it's nothing more than a temporary water weight gain that passes in a few days.

I can easily gain or lose as much as 3-4 pounds in a day because of a shift in my water weight. Try not to fixate on the scale. Remember, there is more to good health than a number that stares at us from between our toes in the morning.

You're doing just fine.

I hate my weigh-ins the week before my period. I always bloat up. I don't even think you should worry about it- if you're eating right and exercising, you'll be ok. Just look forward to weighing in the week after- that always makes things look brighter!

Today's excuses are tomorrow's regrets dressed in disguise.

If you eat crap, you feel like crap and that makes you want more crap.

Most of us experience this quite a bit - it doesn't mean that you are doing anything wrong, and from what you have said, you are doing this correctly. I would be inclined to think that your suspicion is the main reason for this gain. Most gain - even considerably more - around TOM. Don't worry - it will go soon enough.

There are also loads of other reasons for 'weight-gain' - increased sodium; increased exercise and building muscles; whether you have been to the loo immediately prior to weighing or not - and there are other reasons, too!

I am scrupulously sticking to my calorie range, cycling between upper and lower values. I have been slowly and steadily losing. I woke up this morning and I've gained a pound back. It's the week before my period. Could this be it or am I deluding myself?
I weigh everything I eat and do moderate exercise due to injury.
