You're being much too hard on yourself ! I lost 50+ pounds. Some of my skin popped back. Some didn't. In truth, there are parts of me that bear more than a passing resemblance to a Shar Pei Puppy !! Lots of me is sagging. The gals have fallen and they can't get up ! LOL !!!
I'll be honest. Some days, the sagging skin gets me down. Then I go off and bang off 50 military style pushups. Then I remind myself that I ran a couple of 5Ks for fun. Then I remind myself that I completed a Spartan Sprint in November last year.
What I've learned from my own years of trying to lose weight is this,"What I can do with my body IS more important than how it looks". Okay, I have stretch marks and sagging skin. I'm not perfect. I never will be and I'm okay with that. Like I said, what my body can do since losing the weight and becoming more fit is what matters most to me. Everything else is cosmetic.
If you truly want a flat tummy, there is always cosmetic surgery. That's always an option if you decide you really don't like parts of your body and want to change them. No one would think less of you if you wanted a boob job. Lots of women have had tummy tucks to lift their spirits. Me ? Maybe when I win Mega bucks. For now, I'm really happy that I'm in better shape at 49 than I was when I was a teenager.
How to feel better about yourself right now ? DITCH the old clothes ! Go out and buy a new bra. A good bra will lift your gals and your spirits. Go buy some new clothes that flatter your new figure. nothing says new attitude like some new clothes. If you wear the same old baggy clothes, you're going to continued to be depressed about how you look. Go out and spend some money. Buy some great new outfits that flatter your figure. Believe me, you'll start feeling better about yourself when you start wearing new clothes.
