I have lost bucket loads of weight, but my waist measurement hasn't really reduced at all, other than a couple cm. My Dietitian told me that this isn't uncommon and often it is the last one to shift. Having said that, I have gone from a NZ size 20-22 to a 14-16 bottom and 12-14 top. Obviously what is inside can get squished around more freely - LOL! I have lost size everywhere else, including over an inch off each wrist - and they weren't fat to start with. The Dietitian said it was the bone that had gotten smaller :-)
Regardless of whether the belly reduces, by eating good nutrition, wise calorie range and getting the exercise, you are doing the best for your body that you can, and it WILL thank you for it in many ways. My Cholesterol, which had been very high even tho' on meds and a healthy diet, and my HbA1c - which had me in the borderline pre-Diabetic range - has now returned to a very healthy normal! There are many other pluses, so focus on those!
