I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your father. Grieving the loss of a loved one is never easy.
Don't beat yourself up because you've regained some weight. that's something that has happened to every single member of Spark People at one time or another. We're all experts at gaining, losing and regaining the weight. That was the past. You can't change the past, but you can influence and change the future.
I give all new members one piece of advice and it's this,"Don't look at good health or weight loss with an all or nothing mentality". if the only healthy thing you did for yourself today was drink 8 glasses of water, that's still a step in the right direction.
I know that drinking water isn't easy. It does take time to get used to. but have you tried adding a squeeze of lemon or lime ? You might try drinking your water with a bit of lemon or lime juice for some flavor. one squeeze of lemon won't a lot of calories. If you don't want to do that, try sparkling waters like Adirondak, Perrier, Poland Springs, etc... there are lots of companies that make very tasty flavored waters. You might try those to help you ease into drinking water.
It took me a while, but these days I'm either drinking water or tea. Do you like tea ? If so, drinking tea will help you get your water in too.
Mostly, you can't let the opinions of other people bother you. As Eleanor Roosevelt once said,"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent"
