As for candy, you certainly can work it in to your calorie allowance, but if you find there's a certain food you can't eat without binging, I'd plan on cutting it out for now - stop buying it, and stop going to places where you know you can get it.
As for the Insanity workout, it will get better, but also, keep in mind that you don't have to start out doing something so crazy. You mentioned having a gym, why not just try walking on the treadmill at first? It sounds like you may be trying to do too much at once, start slower and be patient with yourself.
