I'm not menopausal, but I am peri-menopausal. I haven't experienced the "power surges" yet, but I have had an occasional warm spell. My symptoms have been some what erratic. My doctor says that's normal. LOL !!!
If you're looking to learn more about what menopause does to a woman's body, you might want to check out this book by Christine Northrup, the Wisdom of Menopause. www.amazon.com/Wisdom-Menopause-Revised-Cr
Personally, from talking to other women, I've found that engaging in a healthy diet and regular exercise can help reduce some of the symptoms. Do you do any strength or resistance training as part of your exercise routine ? If not, I'm going to encourage you to start. You're not too old to start strength training to increase lean muscle. Muscle is metabolic and helps to drive our metabolism. I truly feel that if a woman can increase her lean muscle, she'll have fewer menopause related symptoms.
