I definitely struggle with that! I've found that when I'm tired and want to eat, the best thing for me to do is just go to bed. Usually, there is no reason for me to stay awake when I'm so tired I feel like I have to eat to stay awake. I understand that not everyone has that luxury, but that's just what I personally do. I've also found that when I feel 'hungry', that's usually just me being thirsty. Try drinking water when you feel hungry and if you feel truly hungry after about 20 minutes, then definitely eat something.
