I'm no expert for sure, but peanut butter has a lot of fat in it, even though it's good fat, it's high in it for sure.
You might not notice things on the scale right away, but you will see a change in how your clothes fit. I do the treadmill religiously, along with weight machines and free weights (even though that section of the gym is intimidating lol). I am trying to rid my thunder thighs, and while they are still larger, I am noticing that the inside/outside (my trouble spots) of them has less fat than when I started. I have been using incline on the treadmill also, instead of just walking without the incline, because it works the sides/back of the thighs more.

Just be patient and give it some time and you will see things change :)

Are you using the sparkpeople food tracker? If you are and it's shared, you can post on the Diet & Nutrition board = sparkpeople staffs that with registered dieticians who are more qualified to answer your questions.

I will say just reading the list of what you are eating, it doesn't look like you are getting your 5-9 fruits and veggie servings a day. Can you replace the string cheese with fruit? Try some plain greek yogurt with your fruit for a combo of protein and carb.

Most of all remember that the number on the scale is not the total picture of health - far from it. Keep eating healthy, exercise and realize that it's a lifestyle change that is necessary.

ARIELLESKYE,

You can't compare your loss to your husband's. I'm going to warn you right now that men DO tend to lose faster than women. And that doesn't mean you're doing something wrong. This is not the Biggest Loser. Those types of weekly dramatic losses are just not typical.

Also, it's only been 8 days. While a safe weekly weight loss would be 1-2 pounds per week, there may be weeks you don't lose. There may even be weeks when you gain ! And that doesn't mean you're doing something wrong. weight loss is a slow steady process that takes time. You didn't gain the weight overnight, it's not coming off overnight.

Why do men tend to lose faster than women ? Because men carry a higher percentage of lean muscle. Muscle is what burns fat. If you were to increase your lean muscle, that would help your body to become more efficient at burning fat. So, if you aren't doing any strength training along with any cardiovascular exercise you're doing, I'm going to encourage you to start. Add lean muscle because muscle burns fat. a good strength training program can help you lose 1-2 clothing sizes without the scale budging. muscle is dense and takes up less space on the body. So, if you want to see the inches come off, make sure you're doing some strength training.

Mostly, you really need to be patient with your body. You can't expect miracles in so short a time. In general, it really could take 6-8 weeks before you see a change in the scale. And that too is perfectly normal.

There are no fast ways to take off the weight. I wish there were, but there aren't. Weight loss takes time.

Hi ARIELLESKYE,

When there is an extreme weight loss in such a short period of time, most of this lost is due to a shift in fluids and not an actual shrinkage of fat. To lose 8 pounds of fat would require a caloric deficit of over 25,000 calories.

Remember this journey you are on is one you will be on for the rest of your life. This must become a way of living and not just a quick means to get your weight off only to go back to your old ways. Studies show that the slower one loses the weight, the longer the weight stays off. Hang in there! You are doing just fine!

My husband and I just recently changed our eating habits, and I'm not seeing the results that I was hoping for. I am eating either a PB&J sandwich or a light english muffin for breakfast, a snack around 10 am of one string cheese w/ jalapeno, at lunch I eat a ham and cheese sandwich (all breads are wheat) with a pickle. Later in the evening I will snack on another string cheese, type of veggie or fruit, and then at dinner I eat chicken or fish with veggies. My husband has already lost 8 pounds within the first 5 days, and I havent lost a pound yet!! Am I doing this right?
