I can't keep ice cream in the house for my own sanity. Breaks my husband's poor little heart! But when I want an ice cream, and have allotted for a treat day, I go out and buy one ice cream from DQ or a specialty shop. One shot deal. Maybe you can plan cookie days once a month with your girls where you make a date of going to a special bakery and all sharing one big, delicious cookie. There are so many options!

Lost 65lbs in 15 months to get healthy and in top shape to try to get pregnant, and succeeded! Had our first baby in February 2013!

I only gained 32lbs in my pregnancy (and immediately lost half within a few weeks of his birth). April 1st is my full restart date.

I like Liliputianna's idea. Get the kids to help, and you'll be making memories as well as cookies. And you have the opportunity to make healthier changes when making the cookies so they won't be so bad!

Another one: You need to get out of the mindset that you're somehow depriving your kids if they don't get cookies. You know something? They don't NEED cookies to be happy! Get that idea right out of your head. Contrary to popular belief, we don't need junk food!

You want to make their day? Make fruit juice popsicles. You should have seen my girls' faces when they got to eat their own, homemade popsicles.

Cookies? Who needs 'em!

The kids can have cookies when they go to other people's houses. They don't need it at yours. :)

Change your habits. Don't BUY cookies. Most store bought cookies are made out of who-knows-what. They aren't very good really. I mean, they don't TASTE good.

If you are going to have cookies in the house, make it a rule that you have to BAKE the cookies...and I'm not talking about that toll house cookie nonsense! Make cookies from scratch, from real ingredients. They taste amazing. You can still make them with all the gooey naughty stuff, but it will take more effort to get them, they are way more satisfying than the packaged crap, and you can spend time with your childen making those cookies and memories.

Don't cheat the kids out of a treat, but buy yourself something you can have instead. Try rice cakes. They now come in flavors such as carmel which are actually quite good. Whe the are having a cookie, go for something like that instead.
