Caltrin,
Go to a blog I made called changing your calories 101. I looked into the recommended caloric intake for fats, proteins, and carbs, and overall intake numbers and then made reasonable changes based on their numbers. The blog explains how to do it and I now am able to reach my goals more easily.

Caltrin,
Looks like you aren't missing your minimum by much! You can easily get an extra 250 calories by snacking on nuts or dried fruit (if you like those things).

Cal,

Very wise on your part to seek ways to get in more calories...Your body expends calories via three ways--basal or resting metabolic rate, active daily living activities, and finally formal exercise.

If we do not have enough fuel in the tank, your body will begin breaking down lean body mass (bone, organ tissue, and muscles) which is something you do not want to do. This is why it is so important to eat or else your body will adapt to fewer calories and you exercise performance may suffer.

One must eat to lose.

HAPPY SPARKING!
Nancy

I just upped my exercise this week so spark has me at a minimum of around 1350, before my minimum was 1200. I am only clocking between 1000 and 1100.

You also may want to re-asses your allowances. Spark People started me off with an almost 2000 calorie diet and I was gaining weight on that. I could not burn it all off.

Now I keep it around 1200. If you are getting all the nutrients you need you can adjust your allowances.

Try adding healthy fats to meet your calorie requirements...a tablespoon or two of peanut butter with your toast or oatmeal...homemade salad dressing with olive oil with salad....a small handful of nuts.

I am really confused. For the last 5 days I have not hit my minimum calorie intake. 2 months ago I could have eaten half of a large pizza by my self, now I can't seam to get myself to eat enough.

Last night I knew that I was going to fall short, so I tried to eat an extra cup of rice with my dinner. I could only eat half of it before I felt overfull and slightly sick.

I know that if I don't hit my minimums, the chances of lousing weight go down because my body will go into starvation mode.

Does any one know why I feel this way?

Chef Meg's Baby Spinach Salad with Strawberries and Toasted Almonds
Submitted By: CHEF_MEG

Chef Meg moves strawberries from the dessert course to the salad course. Fresh and juicy during spring and summer months, strawberries are delicious when combined with tender spinach and crunchy toasted almonds. This dish was inspired by a member-submitted recipe. She reduced the amount of sweetener used and then increased the vegetables to ensure you'd get a full cup of fruit and vegetables.
TIP: Instead of slicing strawberries for the salad, quarter them. Quartered strawberries are easier to pick up with a fork! Full Recipe
